Another Constant

Rate this book
Can he be a YN & lover boy? Or does he have to live by a certain creed and be just as reckless as all the others, not looking for a constant?

They say you find what you're not looking for even when your eyes are closed. Can he fly off the handle and still be her peace in a world full of people trying to use his name for motion?

Kinga West is a mechanic, working on his cars and staying out of the way until a series of events pulls him into the way. Can he be a YN and lover boy? Or will the choices he has to make drive a wedge between his lover boy ways and YN tendencies?

Harlem Bleu is a dog breeder and shop owner who happens to choose the wrong mechanic. A hole and a boot later, she encounters him. Can he be a YN and lover boy? Probably.

Love a man who bakes!

The relationship between Kinga and Harlem was so cute. They were so sweet together and the fact that Kinga baked was adorable. He was caring for his niece and trying not to be a menace but people just kept poking the bear. I'm so glad he had Harlem to bring peace.

This was a cute short read, I really enjoyed Kinga & Harlem’s story.

Loved how there wasn’t no third act breakup and the build up to their relationship was good but definitely gave instalove but I didn’t mind.

I loved how Kinga doesn’t play about Harlem and made it known.

This the second book I read by Kennedy B., and I haven’t been disappointed, so I’m happy about that.

Hum

The story had so much going on, I'm not sure where to begin. First, it was Urban lit, and a few times, I had to reread a section to get the point. The characters were interesting. The MMC and the MFC's relationship was cute toxicity. I know, that even sounds odd. Overall, the story was pretty good. 3.5 stars

This story could’ve been a 5 star but the way this author repeated the same things over and over was quite frustrating. Like how many times did we need to know he didn’t do anything for anybody other than Harlem, or that he was basically irritated by everyone other than her? That’s just one example the book was imo basically a repeat of everything was already said in the chapters before.

I’m also confused on how OA is her older brother if she has a different father. The way it was written you would assume her mother and his dad were together until he passed. How is he her older brother and his dad treated her like a daughter? Did their mother cheat on OA father or did they break up and then get back together and she had a baby when they got back in the relationship?
The transitions in this story were horrible as well. On top of that so everyone believed his brother’s baby mama just fell off the face of the earth? Nobody questioned it? To me the story they came up with didn’t make sense, and the brother just leaves only calling once after being gone for what I assume was at least 2 months? What was the purpose of introducing the kid in the school’s office and his father?

Honestly the story started off pretty good, the characters were likable enough. Somehow along the way the story got flat and boring. The MFC quickly got boring and uninteresting. We didn’t get to journey along with her in her dog grooming business (which by the way was really different) we were just told that her business was good. The MMC wanted so badly for her to see him as a menace. Idk anybody that tried their hardest to make someone believe how “hard”they are in the streets. That got annoying fast. Idk I ended up just giving up at 84%. This is more than likely and unpopular opinion based on all the 4/5 star reviews.

Kinga & Harlem were so cute together. They both were hotheads (Kinga more than Harlem) but I love that that fury and toxicity never found its way into their relationship. I also love that Kinga truly was just trying to mind his business, love on his woman, and bake his cakes(🤣) but people stayed trying him smh. This wasn’t a very dark or heavy read despite there being some street justice & other shenanigans. This book also served as a reminder that time & how soon certain things should happen in relation to relationships is a social construct lol. If someone is loving you right & they feel like home, you don’t necessarily have to overthink it, just see what happens.

This book was sooooo good! I fell in love with Kinga from the very beginning!! He was so mean & introverted which is me all day so I could definitely relate!! Harlem & her dogs won me over quickly too even though she acted a plum fool in the beginning! I loved them together, they meshed so well & fell into sync with each other the minute they exchanged numbers! There was a lot of drama that kept me on my toes between Hari & Joseph to Memphis trifling self! This was really a page turner!! My first read from Kennedy B. But definitely won’t be my last!

Love it

Never disappointed. If it's got Kennedy name on it I know I'm going to love it. Kinga was Him and what I mean by him. Is he was a YN but when it came to Harlem he didn't play about her and he let that be known.

damn good

Man I loved how kinga was a man about his business what you see is what you get with him, his protective nature was really sweet, he was everything Harlem needed and she was everything he didn’t know he needed. This is a great read loved it!

We love an MMC, with a little slice of unhinged! Kinga wasn't playing about Harlem, and he wasn't playing with those folks who continuously tried them. All he wanted to do was be at home in Harlem's skin...at least we got a whole lot of cakes since they kept pissing him off 😂

Good Book

This book was very good. I like how Kinga found a woman who is anti-social just like him in Harlem. I love them together.

Vibe

This book was a vibe. From the their first encounter Harlem & Kinga had chemistry. Kinga got rid of the trash in her life while handling his business like the alpha he was.

Harlem and Kinga

I didn't read any books connected to this one, but I felt like the author did a good enough job at explaining who everyone was and how they were connected, so I was able to easily keep up. I liked Harlem as a character, and as life would have it, I just got two puppies, so her profession and some of her actions felt parallel to my life right now, making me connect with her. Kinga was a multifaceted individual who unalived people in one scene and then baked a cake shortly after. It doesn't seem like the two would go together, but he made it work. Plus, at the heart of him was something good as made clear in the care he took of Aja and Harlem. Overall, although some parts of the book felt rushed - especially the ending - and some details weren't flushed out, the storyline was decent and kept me engaged on my flight from Florida.

The story line didn’t make any sense to me and overall it just became flat. I started to skip over some pages because it didn’t really catch my attention or brought anything to the table. It could’ve been better.

This was a cute read- nothing extraordinary. A bit all over the place though- one minute, the ML is a hot head, the next minute, he is not.
Another time, he is a homebody, next he is not.

3.5⭐️

Tropes
Urban hood romance
MMC is his nieces temporary guardian
He falls first and hard

I liked this one a little more than Bry’s story. Kinga and Harlem were cute. I was a little perplexed at Kinga’s name but that neither here nor there I guess lol. Kinga was on her from the moment Harlem came in his shop making a scene, but it was cute seeing him become completely gone for her. It was also really cute that he baked to calm down and control his anger.
Their spice was good, Kinga was definitely obsessed and didn’t mind being a little unhinged behind her if he needed to be.
Sora cracked me up, Caya was funny and a down friend lol, and Kinga’s beef with little Sebastian was hilarious.
In my opinion, Kinga should’ve taken Harlem’s brother out of here permanently for what he pulled, and her father should’ve been dealt with more too, and the fact that no question where Aja’s mom was and where Aiden went and why was weird and unbelievable to me.
They were a few cute moments, but there was no big love declaration again. The ending didn’t end as abruptly, but there still were no HEA vibes. An extended epilogue or something would’ve been nice.

I enjoyed reading Kinga and Harlem’s love story. Kinga was instantly drawn to Harlem when she came to his mechanic shop going off because one of his former workers had ran up parking tickets in her car and put a hole in the floor. Kinga volunteered to fix her car and pay the parking tickets because he wanted her in his presence so he could get to know her. I like how Kinga didn’t play not one game when it came to Harlem especially protecting her. I like that they had a smooth relationship without all the drama and Harlem stepped up to the plate to help him care for his niece Aja while Oden was away coming to terms with unaliving his wife and the nicca she was cheating with in their bed. It was kind of confusing that Harlem’s brother name was OA and it wasn’t explained if that was his real name or just his initials. I also didn’t like how we never knew what ever happened with Kinga’s nem mom and why she dropped off her sons never returning. I also wanted Kinga to at least find out which Ortega was entertaining their mom. So, in Brysheer’s book the twins run in Ortegas family. Aroyal is a twin and he also has twins. I hope we find out more.

Kinga is all things perfect!

Harlem is tired of being played with. Her ex is hounding her to reconcile, but how do you come back from a “break baby”. She’s good and done. She’s not looking for a man and she surely can’t see herself opening up again.

That is until she hits her breaking point, goes off and before crashing completely out…in walks Kinga. 😏

Kinga may be a YN but he is about his business. He runs his auto shop, restores his oldies and stays to himself. He does not like people and for good reason. What does he do when he meets the only person he can tolerate?

Kinga handled Harlem firm but gentle. He told her his truths and he invaded her space, luring her in with sweets. He is a dedicated brother, nephew and uncle. He surely doesn’t play about his niece, Aja. Don’t get it twisted…those streets didn’t get the side Harlem did.

This book gave me all the feels.

🧡🧡🧡Kinga & Harlem 🧡🧡🧡

Wait I was on a 8 hour flight and finished this! Kinga and Harlem definitely need a short/novella I need to see them with their own children and moved in together officially! Wait so Kinga and Aroyal are related 😳 🤔 listen Aroyal is my favorite so I'm here for it! I loved the guys showing up so happy I read all those stories. Would love to see Rennix with Caya they both crazy so 😜. Oden definitely needs his own story I need to know what he did while he was gone or you could put him with Caya since they both don't like cheaters and both have a child then sis can live the soft life.

Nice very nice

This standalone is so lit. I wanted to come through the phone on her stepbrother and sperm donor. They always wanted wanted wanted and try to take it but couldn't work for it. And her ex, ohhhh, he really was a peace of work. u wanted a break to go out and do u, then u get caught up and want her back, nooo, sir. My new boo wasn't having that at all. They we're made for each other. I'm glad my boo got rid of all the snakes. U did good on yet another book and I'm looking forward to reading more of them. Sitting here patting my feet while sipping on Pepsi and while eating popcorn while waiting on the next book to read

Another Constant

Ooh Wee, I love me some Kinga. He is that guy and then some. Kinga is totally unhinged, but cool, calm and collected all at the same time. He moves with purpose and intent. So be wise not to get caught slipping.

I loved the way he locked in on Harlem. Harlem gave him and Jay the business about her car. That lead to Kinga fixing it for free and her bringing him lunch/dinner.

Kings didn't play about Harlem. You see what happened to her brother and his dudes.

Another Constant is a very good read. It lets you know that everyone needs and wants to be loved.

that man name held weight okay

I knew that lowdown Daddy and brother of Harlem was up to no good. The way Hari kept popping up checking on her dogs. I actually liked this storyline. The couple met bc through one of the workers messed up Harlem car and Kinga ends of fixing it and giving her the money back that she had to pay for tickets and the price she paid to fix her car. I actually liked them together. Kinga was unhinged and standoffish but he fell in love with Harlem and didn’t play about her.

Good read!

That darn was a mess! He wasn't looking for love but when Harlem came to the shop on ten, he knew he would never be the same. Nine and Sora were hilarious, Oden was the emotional one. Everything changed for him when he caught his wife with another man,
babygurl Aja no longer had a mama so Kinga had to step in. Zax cheated and thought Harlem would forgive but she moved on. Once Kinga had the loose ends tied up they could move forward with their live. This was a good read.

Good story

This was a good story from beginning to finish. Every time I read a book by this author it makes me wonder if her sub characters have their own stories and if so I want to read those stories too. The chemistry between Kinga and Harlem was instant and didn’t let up at all. I also see a possible future story about Aja and young Bash coming eventually.

I’m definitely going to dive into the catalog of this author to see if I can find the stories of some of the other characters mentioned in this book.

Imagine you leave your car at the mechanic shop to be worked on, but when you pick it up you have new problems with it. Harlem found a hole in her floorboard and multiple traffic tickets when she picked her car up. She did what any logical person would do. She went back to that shop and raised hell. Lucky for her, Kinga was intrigued because he was a hothead himself. I ate this story up and wish it was longer.

Big KINGA not the Lil ONE!!

Ms. Kennedy step to the front please!! Now why would you end the book like that without letting me read about Harlem having the twins?!!! I just know we can expect a life update about them in Rennix right? 👀👀 Kinga was the MAN and even though he was the ultimate crash out my girl Harlem showed us a different side of him! Well written!!
