This book despite being short was genuinely such a chore to finish. I was really enjoying it at first, but G.W. Dasent’s stories in it were so repetitive that even getting to the other authors was hard. I love folktales generally but almost all of these were just the same story copied and renamed (despite the characters not being renamed). This book’s only redeeming quality is the fact that it is pretty.
