The Happily Ever After Society: An Unapologetic Celebration of Romance Novels and the People who Wrote Them by Chandra Wicke
I’ve was one of so many kickstarter backers of The Happily Ever After Society!
There are 264 authors in this book and when I found out some of my favorite ones (Laurelin Paige, Kate Canterbary, Eloise James, Christopher Rice, Julia Quinn and I could go on) would be in one place to have these wonderful writers (between the covers) I knew I wanted to see this happen.
The pictures, the interviews, I just smiled each time a read a new authors chapter.
The cover has all the elements of Romance and it catches eyes. In fact my daughter-in-law spent some time looking through the book and taking it all in.
Chandra, it was great virtually meeting you, your notes, your comments, your stories were not just enjoyable but very telling and it is obvious you too are a romantic.
What a lovely society you put together that allows anyone to spend some time the authors of the Society.
I am in love with this book. It felt like a happy hour / Galentine's get together. Wicke clearly loves the genre she's chosen to highlight, and the interviews with the authors were wonderful. I loved the wide variety (from various romance genres to established authors to new authors) and how each of them gushed about the romance community and their journeys to being authors. I will definitely be revisiting this one!
the only downside is that my TBR is even longer from all of the new to me authors featured in the book (as well as all of their recommendations, too!)
