Rate this book

Me castigó. Me poseyó. Me hizo suplicar.
Sí, Leonid es un demonio total –
Es un crack aplastando enemigos, amontonando pasta, y... haciéndome correrme.

El tipo que está obsesionado con destruirme...
Es el padre de mi hijo

I think this is the lowest rating I have ever given. It was so difficult to even get through it. Seemed a lot of inconsistencies and one minute Leonid wants all the info on who they think the mole was and then nothing and time goes by and the mole is still working for him doing the same stuff and worse....THEN we finally get them...and omg...don't get me started on the baby story. I mean COME ON! He forced her to do something so awful and she LET HIM...why not just tell him the truth?! SERIOUSLY....seems to me that would have not even been a question. oh and the baby's eyes...one minute they were blue like his then green like hers...
Don't even get me started and his violent tendencies to Scarlett...he couldn't forget her for two months, he gets her, then it is all revenge...and on and on...........sigh... I have others downloaded by this author...not sure if I even want to read them now.

Too Many Continuity Errors

All the errors had me feeling like the author had AI help writing her book. At one point the MFC eyes are green, the next it's brown. Scenes were all over the place. Maybe with a good editor this would have been a good read but for now I'm passing on all the other books.

warning spoiler alert
I found this book disturbing. Scarlett is a young innocent mafia daughter to a family who is going under. Her sister is supposed to have an arranged marriage but at her engagement party scarlett ends up meeting a masked stranger going home with him and giving him her virginity. she becomes pregnant only to find out that the man who is the father is the man supposed to marry her sister but he calls it off and demands to marry her instead when the sister is caught cheating. Leonid an older mafia bon bent on revenge, ends up treating scarlett badly coldly and with only revenge on his mind so she vows to never tell him the baby is his. he ends up treating her disgustingly thru out the pregnancy keeping her prisoner then when she won't tell him who the father is he takes her newborn away from her at 48 hr old and forces her to give it to her sister. she quits eating and nearly dies so he tells her if she dies he will kill her family plus her newborn. so she makes herself survive from near death but she can't feel any happiness. she sees her baby grown thru videos until one day a maid tells a lie about her and leonid ties her to the headboard and pretty much rapes her saying terribly things to her as punishment. an hour later he takes the step to find out the truth which he could have done previous to find out he made a terrible mistake and will have to make up for it. however he doesn't apologize, he doesn't do anything to make it right other than buy her a few gifts and have them delivered anonymously. meanwhile of course she is going to know he bought them who else would in this mansion he rules with an iron fist. he allows her to see her child at 6 months and due to a threat to bring the baby back home with her where he has set up a nursery because his investigation proves he must be the babies father but he still won't fully admit it to himself. all he had to do was a dna test when the baby was born but apparently too stupid to do that despite it being common sense. and he'd already done an investigation which showed she wasn't around any other men who could have gotten her pregnant. yet he continues to degrade and humiliate her, treat her like garbage, forced her to eat things that made her vomit during morning sickness, yet expects her to be grateful to him and fall for him. no woman is going to fall in love with the mafia boss who treated her terribly for an entire pregnancy, forcibly remove her newborn from her arms and give it away, rape her for something she didn't do, make her accept his advances despite not wanting it, and all is fine because he buys her a few things? i honestly don't know what the author was thinking in this plot. this mafia boss was really too stupid to breath air. so many things were common sense and easily verified yet he did none of it just continuing to treat a woman he had at first been intrigued and attracted to like absolute trash. yes in the end he acted better and did end up saving her father and never died saving her but none of it would have even happened had he just used his brain and acted appropriately in the first place. it also made zero sense that scarlett didn't tell the truth about the baby once they were married and she knew it was truth or lose her child. what woman would let her newborn be ripped away from her when the truth would stop everything. she wrote scarlett as a weak, doormat, insipid, silly woman who just continues to take abuse upon abuse and do nothing to change her circumstances. Leonid was an abusive cold controlling nasty vile man with no redeeming qualities despite the author trying to make him look better by the end.
the book also had a LOT of mistakes, detail errors, etc in it. hard to believe it was actually edited. i do not recommend this book, it was not an enjoyable reading experience.

3 Stars – and that’s me being generous

Oh dear. This one was a struggle.

The book started with real promise, and I genuinely wanted to love it. But somewhere along the way, the story wandered off without a map. I made it halfway through and found myself wrestling with several of the MMC and FMC decisions. Some of them just didn’t make sense, and it pulled me out of the story more than once.

Still, I climbed back into the saddle and finished it. To be fair, it did improve slightly for a few pages. I can even overlook the confusion about the baby’s eye colour… although I’m still not entirely sure what colour they were supposed to be.

The real breaking point for me was the heart transplant storyline. A heart supposedly being used for scientific research can be used for transplant, with no real scientific explanation on how this is possible ? To me this was totally implausible, impossible and rushed.

In the end, this book had great potential but didn’t deliver. Three stars feels generous, but I can’t deny there were glimpses of something better beneath the chaos.

I was very disappointed with this, I did not enjoy it, I kept on reading hoping that it was going to improve, which unfortunately it didn't. The only part i enjoyed was the action at the end.
I hated Leonid from the start he was mean and horrid and i found that even when he realised his mistakes I though it was too late.
Scarlett was a fool.
When she found out she was pregnant she tried to find him, yet when she suddenly found him, she hid the truth from him. All the sex they had was annoying I understood why he did it, but not why she enjoyed it especially after everything he did to her.
He relationship with her father was odd at one point he was mean and horrid too her and then suddenly she was important and he loved her dearly!.

They connected at a ball and had an intimate encounter but months later Scarlett had a shocking discovery that she would collect in a few months. If that wasn't enough the masked man was her sister's soon to be husband, but the tables are turned when an uncompromising video is displayed calling off the wedding and placing Scarlett in the place of her sister. This action-packed story is filled with dangerous twists and turns of betrayal and deception and had me all caught up in it from start to finish.

Another fantastic story from the author, this time filled with betrayal, deception, twists and turns, deception, action, suspense, steam, and much more. I was glued to this book from beginning to end and had a hard time putting it down.

3.5 stars

The book started out really good but quickly became somewhat disappointing. The book is filled with numerous plot holes, Ai like writing without emotion, and bad decisions that make no sense. I thought I was buying a book where neither knew the baby was his, but that isn't the case. However, it was good enough to read to the end.

This book had potential, but like another reviewer mentioned, this did read like an AI written romance novel. I couldn't place it, but it almost felt like it was off-key. Something just didn't seem right. It felt a bit stunted the entire way through the book, like the book was trying to be something with substance and depth and intrigue...but it fell short. Disappointing.

The verdict is in and this mafia romance book by Alexis is a must-read masterpiece with a glorious storyline and the added suspense of the arranged marriage between Scarlett and Leonid is a real page turner. The storyline has your pulse jumping all over like a kid playing hopscotch.

Why didn't Scarlett tell Leonid that he's the father, especially considering the fact that the child will be sent away following the birth if she doesn't. For some reason, Scarlett is too foolish to tell the truth. Genuinely, what is her problem?

DNF at 28%.

So much going on

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It's riveting and full of ups and downs twists and turns.

I couldn't predict the ending which is always a wonderful thing.

I would recommend this to someone wanting to escape into a world most will never live.

This book was great. Hot and spicy with a lot of drama. I enjoyed the plot lines and the writers imagination on its setting. I mean some things were way over and beyond.

This one is Leonid and Scarlett's story. The author is hit and miss, and this was definitely a miss. They meet and have an interlude and of course she ends up pregnant. Her sister is a jerk to her until she realizes that Scarlett's live is worse than anything she expected. Leonis is bent on revenge and his actions to a point can be understood. However, he never redeemed himself. He was always a self-righteous jerk who treated Scarlett horribly. Paternity tests - they're a thing. The fact that Scarlett just took it showed her to be a weak person. Anna - for everything she did the reader doesn't get the good ending. She simply disappears. There's one twist at the end and that alone should have been followed by Leonid's groveling. I kept hoping he'd be redeemed.
