The sci-fi/space opera novella, Fallen by T. M. Hunter, features the author's inimitable and lovable space pirate Aston West in a slight misadventure on a secluded world where he crash lands and is mistaken for a god. Adding to the problem, one of Aston's many nemeses, Jaysen Ro, has crash landed as well. Another god has fallen from the sky. But Ro's intentions are less than noble, setting up a classic confrontation between good and evil, honor and dishonor.
Aston West fans will likely know who comes out on top, but the story telling introduces some nice twists and turns and plants some seeds that are answered in Hunter's popular Aston West novels. If you enjoy space adventure, a flawed but ultimately cheer-worthy hero, and a fun ride, I'd recommend Fallen (or any of the author's stories featuring this affable space pirate). (Disclaimer: I was given a free ebook in advance of the publication of this novella, but I would have bought it anyway as I have most of Hunters books already.)
