The sci-fi/space opera novella, Fallen by T. M. Hunter, features the author's inimitable and lovable space pirate Aston West in a slight misadventure on a secluded world where he crash lands and is mistaken for a god. Adding to the problem, one of Aston's many nemeses, Jaysen Ro, has crash landed as well. Another god has fallen from the sky. But Ro's intentions are less than noble, setting up a classic confrontation between good and evil, honor and dishonor.

Aston West fans will likely know who comes out on top, but the story telling introduces some nice twists and turns and plants some seeds that are answered in Hunter's popular Aston West novels. If you enjoy space adventure, a flawed but ultimately cheer-worthy hero, and a fun ride, I'd recommend Fallen (or any of the author's stories featuring this affable space pirate). (Disclaimer: I was given a free ebook in advance of the publication of this novella, but I would have bought it anyway as I have most of Hunters books already.)

Another great story featuring Aston West. In this installment we find Aston in a space battle with a rival pirate, Jaysen Ro. The fighting ends up damaging both of their ships. and they are forced to crash land on a nearby world inhabited by a primitive people. As Aston emerges from his ship he is immediately thought to be a God and is brought to a nearby village to bring wisdom. While in the village, Jaysen attacks and Aston finds himself quickly involved in the protection of the villagers. Aided by the leader's daughter, Aston again finds himself in conflict between saving the village and saving his own skin.

Having read all of T.M. Hunter's other novels, I think this a great addition to his collection of adventures. Aston is the quintessential space hero. He always finds himself stumbling into one predicament or another and the stories are always fun to read. T.M. Hunter writes extremely well. I recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of Aston West or to any new readers as well. Fallen is a great introduction to the series!!!
