When DJ Mel and Dubb cross paths, it’s more than sparks, it’s fire. Can two broken souls !nd peace in each other, or will the streets, scars and secrets keep them cold?

It was a decent read. Also I must say I don’t like the whole secret baby trope. There was no reason everybody was okay with hiding Dubb’s from him. All I heard was excuses especially from Melodi. Yes you were hurt and afraid that he had just got sentenced to 5 years in jail. Understandable. But damn near 4 years went by and Lucas didnt even know he a child and that was not cool. Honestly I don’t think he was mad long enough.
And what would have made me more upset is how she had this random boyfriend playing daddy to their son as if Luke didn’t have a dad. No one saying she couldn’t move on but she was parading this man and playing house with him. But hadn’t even bothered to tell Lucas he had a son but was comfortable with having this random man around. And the crazy thing is there were so many red flags with dude. The fact that she chose to continue that relationship after he threw a hissy fit because she needed to go the hospital because Luke’s grandfather was dying and he basically wanted her to ignore that to have sex with him. Was insane to me but she tried to justify his ignorant and selfish response. Idk Melodi and her actions made me side eye her and I’m sorry but I don’t see Lucas forgave her so easily. She betrayed him in the worst way.

Anyway this was a decent book. One thing I will say is that the pacing of the books was confusing. There were some grammatical mistakes but it wasn’t overwhelming. And the story line was recycled but overall it was a decent book.

A 4.7 !!! (Could be Spoilers)

This was my very first ever read by Author Day for her debut book jukebox. I was not disappointed. This book brought out some emotions from me that I was not expecting. This book had me laughing, tearing up real life tears in my bed in this late @$$ night, heartbroken, as well as grinningly swooning. Dubb the knock out king aka Lucas and Melodi the master musicologist was a read for sore eyes !! Dubb had trauma and so many emotions locked in him while melodi was someone he could share his pain with while also finding their peace within each other. I don’t know if this could be a reach but the title of this makes sense the way that I’m thinking and once you read the book you’ll get why; this review probably gave it a hint already lol. The things that spoke to me while reading this book were redemption, second chances, beginnings, hope, humbleness, pain and aching tender pure love. I enjoyed Lucas and melodi’s story through and through, I don’t regret staying up to read this I can always sleep another time😂. I don’t wanna give away to much so other than that give this book a chance and enjoy the ride of reading their loving hardship tale of a story 🙌.
