Evie Woods m'avait convaincue avec son roman précédent, alors sans même lire le synopsis, j'ai choisi de me plonger dans Le Secret du violon perdu.

✨ Dans cette histoire, on va suivre trois personnages : Devlin, bagagiste à l'aéroport, Walter, professeur à la retraite, et Gabrielle, experte en objets d'art. Ils n'ont rien en commun et pourtant...

🎼 Mais un violon récupéré par Devlin va les pousser à former un trio aussi improbable qu'attachant pour mener une enquête autour de cet objet si mystérieux... et surtout de son histoire. Car ce violon a traversé les époques, changé de mains à de nombreuses reprises et été le témoin de destins qui l'ont marqué à jamais.

🕰️ C'est une histoire complètement différente de ce qu'on a l'habitude de lire. Ici, on navigue entre présent et passé, entre différentes époques et différentes vies. On remonte le fil de l'Histoire, on découvre les secrets de ce violon, mais aussi tout ce qui entoure sa fabrication, sa valeur et l'importance qu'il peut avoir pour ceux qui le possèdent. C'est un univers que je ne connaissais pas du tout et que j'ai trouvé passionnant.

💛 Quant à l'histoire d'amitié de nos trois protagonistes, elle apporte énormément de douceur et d'émotion au récit. J'avoue qu'au départ, j'étais un peu sceptique face à ce trio si improbable. Et puis, au fil des pages, je me suis énormément attachée à eux. À leur complicité, à leurs différences, à cette famille de cœur qui se construit sans qu'ils ne s'en rendent vraiment compte. À la fin, je n'avais qu'une envie : faire partie de leur bande.

📚 Encore une fois, Evie Woods confirme tout son talent. Elle réussit à créer des histoires originales, pleines de magie, d'émotions et de poésie, tout en nous faisant voyager à travers le temps. Son imagination est incroyable et j'ai déjà hâte de découvrir son prochain roman !

The story is about 3 people, Devlin who buys the violin from the lost/found area at the airport where he works, Walter his old teacher and Gabrielle an appraiser. And the story is also about the violin itself. There is some going back and forth with the timeline. It can be confusing at times but for the most part I was able to follow along.
The story line is good until the end for me. The characters are likeable. The plot is interesting.
An enjoyable read.

My mother bought me this as a birthday gift and thought it is not the most elegant book I’ve ever set my eyes on, I had a great time reading it. It’s full of cheeky allusions to music and music history and it has a charm to it. This book also reminded me that playing music is in a way magical, especially to those who don’t play themselves and don’t see all the anxiety and anguish that musicians can get lost in.

A charming and entertaining read that stayed interesting throughout. It has that feel-good quality where everything comes together in the end, and I really liked the violin maker storyline woven through it. I’ve been reading some heavier books lately, so this was the perfect light, enjoyable read in between.

Many characters throughout the story and back and forth between different time periods made the story a bit difficult to follow. A bag handler bought a lost and found item for a girl he loved, but life had other plans for him and the violin he bought, could cause major problems for him in the future

Like all Evie Woods books it entailed mystery, magic and simple fantasy which gives you a cozy feel. I really liked the story, but in comparison to her other books this one just felt different and was missing some that I can’t quite put my finger on. Overall, I still love her books, and definitely recommend.
