I have finished the first 8 books in this series and have found them to be light, fun reading. One difference from other light reading that I didn’t notice before the third book that the author was not only trying to entertain but also to educate. Each book contains detailed explanations of electrical, mechanical and civil engineering. It even includes links to internet sites that expand on the explanations in the book. Good light reading on a dark and rainy night.
While the series has never been polished and had frequent errors this one was really bad. One chapter in it was straight up from an earlier book and I am confident that the author forgot when the main charachter died. This book has frequent references to the 2000s and at one point helicopters in Iraq
Some parts are a drag who wants to read a couple pages of places and city’s. There are a lot of plot lines that leave’s you hanging?? What happened ?? If there is a 9th book I will definitely get it just because Mr Nelson has created a world to explore.
These things are too short. I love the story. But the pace is too much. It should be three times as long. The robbery part was a good pace. But sometimes years pass too quickly. I remember the protagonist going from young man to old way too fast. That said, I do love the story and will buy/read all of them.
Interesting addition to the series. Our hero now has settled people on all the continents except Antarctica. Having as much trouble with the Chinese as everybody else has ever had. Hope to see how that turns out in the not too distant future.
I think every reader needs to start doing this to force authors to write a quick Recap chapter, which readers can skip if they remember, and those who don't won't stop reading the series.

As I have stated in previous reviews this series has to be read in order from the beginning. I started one book out of order because I had missed one publication date. I soon stopped and went back and got the book I had missed.
Ed Nelson does it again. This series is always entertaining. I've been reading them since volume 1, and I'm never disappointed. One of the better stories in the Do-over genre.
