Her Men

Rate this book
Julie has never forgotten her men Timmy and James. When she gets a second chance to rekindle the romance at their reunion, she can’t choose between them.

Forty-four-year-old Julie Weston has loved Timmy and James since her college days twentysomething years ago. She’s fantasised about both men all these long years, never able to choose between them.

She attends their college marching band reunion, hoping Tim and James will go too. When both men show up, her dreams are answered. They’re sexier than she imagined and she prays that they won’t be disappointed by her older self.

It turns out both men came just to see her again and neither is happy about the other man’s presence. They fight over her, confusing her more than ever. It takes a hot ménage—or two—for her to decide which one she’s in love with.

This was a cute, quick read involving adults - real adults (you know over the age of 23?!?)!
Julia is attending her 20-something-ish Marching Band Reunion in hopes of meeting the two men whom captured her heart in college. What she isn't planning is how to deal when BOTH show up in search of her!

I had a favorite from the beginning of the story, and had to know how this triangle played out.
There were humorous moments, a bit of action, and a little spicy erotica.

With the title “Her Men” I was expecting more and for both of the males to act like men. This was a short story that could be read within an hour. I wasn’t really impressed; I knew who she was going to pick after just a little interaction with one of the characters. It was an ok book, just not as good as I was hoping.

Characters: The characters were well written and believable.

Sex: what little there was, was steamy

Religious: no

Would I recommend to others: yes

More than one book in the series: no

Genre: Romance M/F/M

Would I read more by this author: yes

"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."

This quick read set over a weekend at a College Reunion soon has the reader engaged in the story. Before too long it seems clear what the right decision will be, but watching it unfold is very entertaining. Does she choose well? That is for you to read and find out!

The writer does a good job of getting inside Julie's head, and her thoughts and behaviours make sense given she is back amongst her peers of twenty years ago. Friendships made at that time in one's life can stand the test of time and not require constant attention.

As winter approaches, I can see this being a perfect evening's read.

If only. Those are the two words that seem to sum up Julia's thoughts as she attends her college reunion. If only Timmy hadn't left her high and dry. If only she had made a move on James after Timmy left. If only. We've all played the game and wondered what if.

Both Timmy and James show up at the reunion and both want her. And she wants them. Together, menage style.

I must admit that I had I had my favorite of the two guys and I'm glad Julia chose the one she did.

Fun, fast paced book that I enjoyed in one sitting.

Fiction blurs the line between fantasy and reality in a way which makes things allowable. Acceptable. It takes what is taboo in society and turns it into something society can accept since it's only a book. Movies allow the same thing in some ways yet not in others because visual stimulation is often far more disturbing to the world at large.

It's why there is such a discrepancy between the number of films featuring BDSM elements versus books involving the same elements.

"Her Men" focuses on small-town sheriff Julie Weston's twenty-year-long fantasies about having a wicked threesome with the two loves of her college days: Tim and James.

The opening is a glimpse into Julie's richly detailed fantasy life with the two men though the story then progresses along to the reality of their lives wherein she hasn't seen or spoken to Tim since breaking up with him in college and James is only her friend through a Facebook connection. She doesn't truly know these two men. They don't actually know her as she is now, only as the flag girl she was in the college marching band.

There's no deep connection between the three which has spanned the two decades.

They're all bound together only by memories of "The Good Old Days" and fantasies of "what might have been."

It's incredibly easy to relate to on a reader's level. Who hasn't wondered about the one who got away?

Over the course of the piece, Julie has to reconcile the reality of these two men with her fantasy versions of them. She has to learn whether or not Tim is really as debonair as she dreams or if James is as tender as he seems. She has to ask herself if she has a right to try to get both of them into her bed at the same time only to know one or more of them will be walking away broken-hearted. It's interesting to see how deep she goes on an emotional level trying to come to grips with who she is as a woman of 44 versus her fantasy life version of herself where she's still barely legal to drink.

I loved the way it all panned out. Some of the language was overly flowery for me -which always tosses me right out of the story- and the helpful BFF from way-back-when showing up to guide them all along read a lot like a reality-based version of a Fairy Godmother, but hey! It's a fun read. It's a good story. It's definitely worth 4 stars for sheer pleasure-based reading though I will say it's significantly more heavy than what I was anticipating from the synopsis. Personally, for me as a reader, the balance between fantasy and reality wasn't always so well-maintained which resulted in it being a fun read for me, but not one I'd feel the need to revisit.

Let's just say my 20 year reunion won't be as tempting or tantalizing!

Julie dated Tim during college, but he broke her heart when he just up and left her. James has always had a soft spot for Julie, but he's to slow in making a move and Julie gets married and settles down. Sadly her marriage ends in divorce.

With the reunion around the corner she's having some hot fantasies about her "boys".

She meets up with oldtime bestie, Connie and they seem to pick up where they left off. Julie shares her menage fantasy with Connie! Julie reckons she needs to be with both men at the same time to realize who she is in love with because she loves them both but can only be in love with 1!?!?

James manages to get Julie's attention first and honestly he's the one I'm rooting for! James and Julie seem to hit it off but then Tim pitches up, regretting the way he treated Julie, hoping that the reunion will present him with a second chance.

Connie takes it upon herself to let the men know of Julie's fantasy, and neither like it but both are willing to do anything to win Julie over.

So the question is who wins her heart? Well you'll have to one click and find out.

"Her Men" was a hot quick read and gets 3-1/2 bombs.

I thought this was a good erotic novella that was about finding out if the ones that got away could have possibly been "The One".

This was about Julie. She attends her college reunion in hopes of reconnecting with the two men who meant the world to her. Now divorced she wants to see if the attraction is still there. The thing is she knows she loves the two men from her past but she needs to know if she is in love with either one. Timmy is the ex-boyfriend who broke her heart and James is the one that was a friend and helped her put the pieces back together.

She decides that she needs a night with both of them to figure out which one she is in love with. Her dilemma is how to make it happen. They both want her enough to give her the fantasy. Who will walk away with a broken heart this time?

I recommend this to anyone looking for a short erotic story about second chances.

Julie loves two men. She knows that she can only have one. Timmy or James. But she would really love to have them both together. Just once. When she goes to her College Marching Band Reunion they are both there, claiming they only came for her. She loves them in different ways and definitely has a tough decision to make.

My Opinion:

I thought that this was a great book. It's definitely a book that catches and keeps your attention. The author brought to life a great tory about reconnecting with old friends and lovers and the possibility of finding the one that you are meant to be with in a place that you never thought to look. I definitely recommend reading this if you are looking for a short, fun and sexy read!

Julie is a divorced mother, after 20 years it time for her to head to her high school reunion.

Julie is off to her high school reunion where she has fantasies about her former boyfriend and another guy.

Tim and James fight for her affection and in the end her heart wins. Tim left her heartbroken but still had feelings for her after them years and James was there when she needed someone he had always had a soft spot for her. May the best man win .....

I had my favourite male from the start wasn't disappointed in the ending either. I liked the style the writer took and just goes to show anything can happen at a reunion. The book had my smiling and gigging in places and the sex scene was every thing I imagined it to be.

Imaginative Dreams Review:

This one was interesting. It wasn't anything as I was expecting. It was hot in some parts and for me dull in others. It just couldn't hold my attention too much, but other wise it was a good book with a good story-line and characters that were well written.
