A story of reinvention, redemption, and the dangerous dance between who we were and who we're becoming
I absolutely loved this book! From the very first chapter, I was hooked by the mix of romance and suspense. Cat DiDonato is such a compelling character—strong, guarded, and trying to outrun her past. When Mae Garcia enters the picture, their chemistry is electric. The slow-burn romance feels so real and heartfelt, and the tension between love and secrets kept me turning pages late into the night.
The Miami setting adds so much atmosphere, and the supporting characters (especially Izzie!) make the story even richer. I also appreciated the representation and how authentic the emotions felt—it’s refreshing and beautifully done.
If you enjoy romantic suspense with high stakes, sizzling chemistry, and characters you can’t help but root for, this book is for you. I can’t wait to read more from C.S. White!

Flirting with Fate started out strong, but quickly became overly repetitive. The story not only follows Cat and Mae, Alex and Izzie’s storyline competes for MC. To me it seemed as though the book followed a distinct pattern- part of one couple’s story would be told, then the almost identical story (with slight modifications) would be repeated for the 2nd couple, then a section including both couples together. The result was neither couple was fully fleshed out. The ending was also boring after all the build up.
