“Church history is family history. Exploring it, if you belong to Christ, is like opening a photo album and flipping through your own heritage. In ‘Beloved and Faithful,’ Aaron Menikoff shows us some faded portraits you may have missed. With historical skill and pastoral care, he illuminates forgotten lives of the past to reinvigorate us for faithfulness in the present. I was moved and edified. You will be too.”
So thankful for the stories of these believers! It’s simple enough to read with the family but also encouraging to believers of all ages to live lives of quiet faithfulness. Highly recommend!
Such a great read. I especially enjoyed the chapters on Hannah Moore & AW Pink. I am encouraged by the fact that God uses largely forgotten faithfulness from His people to be apart of His handiwork-to give Himself the glory.
Aaron’s excellent book provides brief biographies of six largely forgotten giants of the faith. Each chapter is informative, instructive, and edifying. Regardless of how much or little you enjoy church history, these historical sketches will be an encouragement to you.
I do feel bad not giving it 5 stars, but I have an obligation to my multitudes of readers to keep my rating system (see my bio). If you are still reading this, you are part of the multitude…also know as one or two people.
