Frosthaven Academy #1-4
Frosthaven Academy Books 1-4: A Reverse Harem Shifter Academy Romance Boxset
Frosthaven Books 1–4 — The Complete Series + Exclusive Bonus Scene
A virgin-to-the-shifter-world reverse harem set in the Arctic wilderness… where one girl discovers power, prophecy, and a growing pack of fated mates who will burn the world down for her.
Rae Whitaker arrives at Frosthaven Academy with zero idea that shifters exist—let alone that she’s at the center of a prophecy older than the ice beneath her feet. She just wants to escape her grief after losing her mother.
What she gets instead?
Three dangerously compelling guys who can’t seem to stay away from her… and who spark something inside her she can’t explain. And they’re only the beginning.
This complete collection includes Arctic Bonds, Arctic Shields, Arctic Mates, Arctic Flames, and an exclusive Rae + mates bonus scene set right after Book One.
Inside the Frosthaven Academy Boxset
Book 1: Arctic Bonds
Rae’s life flips upside down when she learns the truth about Frosthaven—and the guys drawn to her like she’s the only warmth in the Arctic. She doesn’t know the word shifter yet… but they know exactly what she is. And the bond awakening between them is impossible to ignore.
Book 2: Arctic Shields
As danger intensifies, Rae slowly gains more allies… and more mates. The academy’s secrets run deep, and every answer only leads to more questions—about her power, her bloodline, and the growing pack forming around her.
Book 3: Arctic Mates
Rae embraces her role, her strength, and the fierce love building between her and the men who’ve chosen her. Her “pack” is no longer four—her circle widens, loyalties solidify, and the stakes rise as enemies close in from all sides.
Book 4: Arctic Flames (Cora’s Story)
Cora’s journey weaves tightly through Rae’s destiny. This book includes Rae’s bonding ceremony—a night of unity and magic—and the jaw-dropping revelation about Rae’s father that changes everything they thought they knew.

She writes romances full of banter, heat, and a little bit of magic, where happily-ever-after doesn’t mean sanding off the rough edges. When she’s not dreaming up growly heroes and the women bold enough to love them, you’ll find her reading spicy stories, sipping too much coffee, and rooting for love stories with a twist.

This series has great potential, but has tons of plot holes and inconsistencies between the books. I read all of Book 1 and 2, DNF'ing at Ch 14 of Book 3. First inconsistency: Book 1 it is emphasized that the shifters are secret from the humans at the school. By Book 2 this is just all gone, no explanation, and they are openly having school wide assemblies about the super naturals. The next and what caused the DNF was this quote, "Just look for any records on Sebastian's sister. He said her name was Sophia." WTF??? Sophia is the mean girl from Book 1, the FMC met her BEFORE the brother. Also, the story the brother tells about the sister is an inconsistency because if it ends up being true (which, it obviously will be) then the whole reason she was a mean girl in Book 1 makes absolutely NO sense.

I liked this but I wanted more slow burn. She gets to college and then a mere 3 weeks later she knows all the ‘secrets.’ I wanted more build up, more mystery. I feel like I barely got to know her 6! guys. Plus, the plot holes--one minute her mean girl nemesis is mad because Luca likes Rae more than her despite mean girlie's history with Luca and then in the next book mean girl is a victim and Rae doesn't even know that her brother is the one out for revenge. It's just so weird. I get that a lot of these authors have to self-edit, but that's kind of a hard one to miss. Lots of potential but pacing was weird and character development was very uneven.
The 4th book was more about her friend Cora. I like it but it was kind of trite. Cora goes on a diplomatic mission to warn Europe about traditionalists who are out to get them, and all goes smoothly. Then Cora meets her mate and is able to shift for the first time which she has been fretting about throughout. However, never does Cora think about her parents or family or anything. We never get her background at all.
Her Feral Marked Series is better. I’m so glad I started with that one even though it’s later in the timeline. Maybe 2.5 stars rounded up.

Steamy and heartwarming
Frosthaven Academy, Books 1-4 by Jaye Marellen: 4 stars
Rae/Luca/Kane/Kade/Vince/Ash/Silas - a lot of surprises for Rae as she attends Frosthaven Academy. So much she didn’t know. What she really is. Bonding and forbidden bonding beyond the acceptable 2, and extreme powers that mark her as a potential threat to the council. This series is spicy, and mostly satisfying as the medicine woman comes into her power, and forms allies to fight for critical changes.

Meh it was okay. It jumped around a lot. The school made no sense though. At least in practical terms. A school for potential gifted maybe shifters but also humans mixed in but nobody is supposed to figure it out? Yeah no. That was a very strange setup and it completely went off the rails in like 2 seconds. I don't think this was thought out very well and just not executed well either. Very predictable and not a ton of challenges. It was kinda too easy. This jumped around too much especially from one book to the next.

Love the way characters found each other
Very few books that can make characters come around and meet in the end! Reading this series and the pull from the first book meeting the end of the fourth. Character building and rounding each groups and love scenes. This is a well done book series about college, supernatural, and the different fights, keeping your interest when I had to go to sleep could pitcher book while sleeping

I DNFd this at book 4 because it was more of a spin off from the rest of the series. I kind of struggled with the main part of the series because of all the typos, incorrect punctuation, and parts of the story just making me question how/why a situation would work.
Overall, it's a pretty good series. If you enjoy YA RH/Why Choose books with paranormal/fantasy aspects, go ahead and give it a try.

Loved it
Great world building. Enjoyable relationships. The series was fast paced and fun and made me smile and laugh while reading it. There were twists and turns but I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to see what Lumi gets up to in her series next.
