Zora Miller gave up on love after heartbreak left her cold. Men are nothing more than a temporary fix, and that’s how she plans to keep it. Semaj Holland, a single father back in Diamond Cove, only wants to build his shop and raise his daughter. But the moment he notices the stylist across the street, everything shifts. One look turns into a spark neither can ignore—and Zora has to decide if risking her heart is worth it.
I've read the entire The Hellcat Barbies series and have been hooked since the beginning. I've enjoyed all of the books in the series, however, The Hellcat Barbies: Zora did not reach the bar set by the other authors contributing to the series. The FMC Zora was grossly unlikable with very one dimensional, stereotypical friends. The MMC was boring and a...bad father figure to me, fighting with his daughter's mother in front of her and telling the daughter "You'on owe anybody shit" - the little girl was 8. There was also no chemistry between the FMC and the MMC to be honest. And many of the talking points were repetitive. Oh, and this character is the only one in the series that didn't race her Hellcat. That takes away from the entire point of the series. Any urban novel can have a FMC with a nice car, the point of The Hellcat Barbies series is that the FMCs all have an affinity for fast cars and they race. I like The Hellcat Barbies series and if more books are released, I'll definitely read them, but I don't recommend this one.

This short read was cool, but it didn’t fully hit the gas for me. Semi and Zora clicked fast—the attraction was obvious right out the gate—but the relationship stayed more surface-level than I expected. It felt like a smooth cruise instead of a race with real stakes.
I was looking for more tension, more drama… something to make me grip the wheel. And if we’re calling her a Hellcat Barbie, I needed that racing element to matter. I don’t remember Zora really being in her bag on the track, and that took away from the persona for me.
Overall, it leaned heavy on romance and second-chance love, which was sweet, but I wanted more creativity and adrenaline. The story had potential—it just needed to shift gears and really let it roar. 🚗💨
I truly enjoyed the story! It was cute and straight yo the point. I think the drawback was how short it was, which didn’t allow for much to actually happen. You get a glimpse of the characters but don’t know them really. But at the same time you still had the back and forth of “stay in my feelings or move forward” that all books have. I think if it was longer and provided more dimensions to there relationship or even the storyline in general I would have rated higher.
One major irk was the “‘on” .. You’on 😣 and Chy 🤦🏾♀️
I believe this is my first time reading a book by this author and I will say I now have check out her catalog. This book was written for every girl had their heart broken by a piece of 💩man. That hurt and betrayal has created a wall that is guarded. But then you meet a man who is nothing like the past trash you collected. He moves with intention and does not hide how much he wants you. It was easy to play hard because she was guarding her heart. But when Semi applied the type of pressure that was nothing like the norm. It helped her let her guard down without regret. I loved this book.
One of the Hellcat Barbies, Zora, had her heart broken. She had a lil friend to come through from time to time, but that was it. Semi moved his shop across the street from her salon and came in full throttle! All gas no brakes once he laid eyes on Zora. Case already having info on her was a plus for his brother, Semi. His mama got good vibes from her. His daughter, Semarah, even fell in love with Zora.
This was a sweet insta love story. Very well written! We love an intentional king and Semi made it clear that he was here to stay. That man was on her real bad. She let him in and he did not disappoint. I must say I didn’t like the way Zora handle Justin in front her girls 😒 he didn’t deserve that.
I think this is my first read from this author and I like her style I’ll be checking out the catalog for sure 👏🏾
Two hours. That’s all it took for this book to crack me open in the best way. The story moved like water—smooth, fierce, and full of healing. Everybody talks about boys needing men to guide them into fatherhood, but we don’t talk enough about how daughters need women—real women—to teach them how to be ladies, how to survive, how to rise.
I liked Zoya and Semi’s story. I was expecting more drama from Justin and the baby momma, but didn’t get it. It was a good book about learning to love and open up again and not letting past hurts block your future. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It was okay in my opinion. It had very minimal action and it was more like reading Zora had a Hellcat but didn’t any racing transpire by her. Zora was also a very selfish lover in my opinion.
This was a good read. I love how the story unfolded...the relationships were solid... friendships...parenting and dating...this was true grownfolk stuff...
