"He denied her. He destroyed her. Now she’s back with the one truth he can’t escape."
ANA JÚLIA RODRIGUES
I just wanted Theodore to understand that this pregnancy was a mistake we both made — nothing more, nothing less. But nothing prepared me for his coldness, for the way his words shattered me. He looked me in the eyes and called me a liar. He didn’t believe I was carrying his child, even after I swore I’d never been with any man but him. The tears came before I could stop them. I didn’t deserve to be humiliated like that. I would never use a baby to trap him or gain anything from his status. But life keeps moving — and I refuse to stay broken. One day, Theodore Drakos will feel every ounce of the pain he inflicted on me… and he won’t be able to run from the truth anymore.
THEODORE DRAKOS
Ana Júlia chose the worst man alive to lie to — me. The second she mentioned pregnancy, every nightmare I ever lived dragged me straight back into the past. The doctor’s words. My condition. The reminder that I could never have a biological child. And then she dared to say the baby was mine. No. I won’t fall for that again. If she wants to keep working at my company, fine — I said I wouldn’t fire her, and I keep my promises. But from this moment on, I’ll make sure she regrets every lie, every tear, every attempt to twist my life again. She thinks I’m cruel? She hasn’t seen anything yet. And when the truth finally hits her, it won’t be me begging. It’ll be her… wishing she’d never crossed my path.

The story is way too predictable. The structure is hard to follow. Half the time I didn’t know who was speaking king cause there was no indication. Who the conversation was between two ppl, I deferred to context clues but when there was more than two it got confusing at times. I skimmed the majority of the book and dnf’d at 80%. It just started feeling like a waste of time because the ploy and order of problems and resolutions was too obvious. Even the side character interactions roles were too predictable.
This was okay. He didn't sleep with anyone else after he hooked up even though there was another woman wanting him and offering. I have no.idea why she was even a character. An ex hook.up. he was mean to the heroine but she persevered. He didn't come round until the end though. Several.doctors told him.he was sterile so I understood. But she was sure too. Kind of dragged too. Nothing exciting really !

This book has obviously been translated into English from another language, Brazilian Portuguese, I think. It sometimes it reads a little strange and there are some mistakes, but overall it was ok. It’s not great, but it was good enough to finish. Spice level: 🌶️🌶️ because it is open door, but not explicit.
No big surprises. Weird how they are so in love after such a short time and like 3-4 dates. The protagonist was really non existent. Was ok of a read. Nothing that really drew me in. Wish they would have had a love interest for Daniella ..like one of the brothers.
Ana and Theo have instant chemistry and lots of emotional bits in the story. It's a larger book with it being double spaced. I also want to know more about the other woman.
