A stolen invention. A $5 million grant on the line. A rival dead in a staged suicide. And me—the guy everyone’s ready to blame.
I’m a graduate student with nervous energy and always overlooked. Until the night my advisor dragged me into the lab—and everything exploded.
The prototype vanished. Fingers pointed. And someone decided I’d make the perfect fall guy.
Now my best friend’s missing. Threats slide under my door. Security says I’m crazy. But Priya—the sharp-tongued data genius I’d trust with my life—says the truth is buried inside our own lab.
Someone’s playing god with our futures. Someone thinks I’ll stay quiet. But I’m done doubting myself. The real question is—can I survive long enough to prove it?
I read this short story as an ARC. This is my review. Two rival entities are creating a prototype in the campuses labs. Jack is on one team while others are stealing their data. A fast paced ,good characters to make it real, and a storyline that tries to confuse. Follow the twists!
I felt is eas better than a 2 .. there is so much more potential here to flesh out the characters ..the school .. the project .. perhaps it would be better as a novel or at least novella?
