Hearts of Stone: A dark gargoyle omegaverse

Rate this book
Each year, 100 human women are given to the gargoyles.

Fern has sworn to never submit. Not at sixteen when gargoyles killed her parents, not when she took over the resistance, and certainly not now that she’s been suddenly chosen as a bride.

Arch, Theo and Ben, a bonded chime, are high ranking members within the gargoyle power structure that now controls the entire world. Chosen to pick a bride from the year’s women, they throw caution to the wind when they smell Fern, daughter of a deceased rebel leader.

Dark secrets lurk in the home of her captors, who call themselves her mates. Fern must untangle their dark web before she loses her will to escape--or her life.

Tilly and her life partner live in the snowy north and homeschool their clutch of children. If she’s not reading, writing, mainlining iced oat milk lattes, swimming, or herding cats, she’s definitely cursing about her dead sourdough starter (again) or working on her cake decorating skills so she doesn’t embarrass herself at the kids’ bake sale.

I can assure you that this book was just what I needed; my obsession with omegaverses is growing stronger by the day.

Why lie to you? My head has been in another world this month, and I couldn’t focus on anything, but there’s something about this book that made me devour it in one sitting.

The FMC is undoubtedly someone to take into account; her courage, her strength to face everything, and her willingness to fight for her principles are something to admire, and I have become hooked on this FMC.

One thing I can assure you I need is another book with these same characters, not only because of its strong and capable protagonist, but also because of its MMCs. These dominant men are more than capable of setting their little omega free. As they say, “If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it’s yours. If not, it was never yours to begin with,” and although it can sometimes hurt to let go of what we love most, it is necessary to be able to see it from the painful side, and thus be able to appreciate it as it should be.

📍Do I recommend it?

Yes, for me, Tilly Bramley’s books are an absolute yes.

If there’s one thing this author knows, it’s how to give the reader capable, strong characters who don’t hide their feelings. In addition to some unusual characters, which makes it even more interesting. We have the added bonus of the way they talk, pleasing their omega... Girl! It leaves you begging for more and completely obsessed.

So don’t wait any longer, run out and grab your copy of Hearts of Stone, and when you have it, come back and tell me about it.

Have you ever read a gargoyle omegaverse?

Spicy, but confusing

For how short of a read this was, the plot had a lot of holes and confusing moments. I thought the omegaverse aspect and spice was good, but I wish I understood more of the backstories and plot.

Well... i have to say that the steam in the beginning leaned quite a bit over being dubcon in my opinion. The fact that the entire time the fmc was like "it's fine, i was told who to overcome rape as a torture tactic" during the steam in the first half of the book is not a good look, and sorry but a body's natural reaction to stimulation doesn't automatically make it consensual. Them spanking her as punishment and then being surprised that it didn't get wet and turned on if probably the first blunder with the rapey and sexually abusive vibes.

I also didn't get the whole omegaverse point to it. Omegaverse is so much more nuanced than this author made it out to ne, and I think the reason this was a miss in that regard was because she was trying to focus on too many things at once. If this was just a fated mates novel than it would be so much better

This was a delightful mashup of two things that I enjoy reading gargoyle romance and omegaverse. This was definitely not a cozy omegaverse Fern was very stabby and a badass in the guys were a bit rough around the edges but they eventually melted for our stabby queen.

Hearts of Stone - Tilly Bramley

I really liked this story and how it was a darker omegaverse story. I really enjoyed how different each of the male main characters are and I really enjoyed Fern as well. I love, strong, female, main characters, especially in omega verse stories. Who doesn’t love a good rebel? I thought that each of the characters had great chemistry with each other, as well as with the female main character. I can’t wait to read more omega verse by this author.

This is a fun quick read with some great world building! You will love the FMC, Fern, and her attitude. The little rebel speaks her mind despite what may happen. She knows who she is in her world and knows that the Gargoyles are the bad guys, no doubt.

The Goyles, Arch, Theo, and Ben are a landed (settled) group with a dynamic that works for them. They have been together for years at this point. They don't need a female with attitude problems to come in and muck up their thing. Guess who they choose?

This book happens in an alternate history where supernatural creatures have taken over from the humans. The dominant species is now the gargoyles.

But what if they're not so different, humans and gargoyles?

You should read this if you enjoy:
- FMCs who are bad ass
- MMCs who care
- Breeding talk
- Preg (only in epilogue)
- Omegaverse style
- Knott ing

Dark, complex, and Spicy!

“Hearts of Stone” by Tilly Bramley is a dark gargoyle omegaverse romance featuring the badass human FMC, Fern. Fern is a secret leader of the human rebellion until her number is drawn in the bridal lottery. Initially, the alphas Arch, Theo, and Ben of the high-ranking gargoyle chime, Rhyleck, don't plan to pursue Fern until they smell her and realize she is their fated omega. Bramley delivers a thrilling, tense monster romance packed with angst, yearning, self-discovery, heat, reevaluations of values, and lots of passion. I loved how the Chyme had to figure out how to fit together and work for their enemies-to-lovers happy-ever-after. I enjoyed that “Hearts of Stone” is an omegaverse that continues to make space for all the characters, personalities, and interpersonal dynamics at the end.

An amazing OV with an entrancing world-building that hooked you up instantly.

I love to read OVs, all of their variety, this one is a gem, so unique… although a little darker (Read the TWS) than your usual ones but so good!

Fern is a real badass, I freaking love her! She’s full of sass, bravery, determination… definitely the bratty who’s going to make this gargoyles go to their knees.

And she definitely did it! Seeing the leader of the pack, this big alpha, who definitely didn’t want an omega so smitten by her was priceless! Theo is such a goofy but when he takes the control over the discipline? HOT… Ben is more centered and stoic but he is as devoted to his omega as the others!

Started and finished TODAY. Is it good or bad when rage is your driving factor? I love Fern and her revenge-driven persona because GIRL I GET IT. Make those gargoyles pay - emotionally, physically, I’M IN. This one was a doozy, definitely a darker twist than Tilly’s typical books with some serious dubcon that makes you question (and scream) things. The story felt a bit rushed but I clearly was into it. I frolicked through the anger and spicy times, and stayed for the plotting, vengeance, and gargoyle chime being put in their place.

4⭐ mostly for delicious smut.
MMMF with intentional sword crossing that is a part of a plot, so be warned.

Monster erotica rather then monster romance.

The plot is good but it's just a backdrop for all that spice.
The world is interesting and there is some complex history there that we got just a glimpse of.
It could be 5 ⭐ if there was more world building and more MCs personal stories.

Funny, quick, read.

It's like so many of my favourite things combined into one!
Gargoyles, Omegaverse and breeding!
All rolled into one delicious package.
Admittedly I'm more of a fluffy cozy Monster reader now but I can still appreciate a dark Monster romance when it's done right!
I loved all of them so much but Theo was definitely my favourite!
In Tilly Bramley we trust!

FMC develops Stockholm Syndrome after being raffled into sexual slavery and to be used as a broodmare in a government program by the people who killed her family. I was really hoping for her to gut them.

Writing was fine I guess.
The men are kinda gross to her at first with the way they humiliate her for no fuqing reason.
Honestly, it was all the fingers, tails & toys up her a$$. Come on, just too much anal.

Darker but delicious

This was such a different take on Omegaverse but it was a thrilling ride. Set in a post apocalyptic world, this story is nonstop from beginning to end

The plot supported the spice and the spice didn't disappoint. A wild world with gargoyles trying to be the overlords and Fern the MFC leading an rebellion.
