When Parker Crawford returns to her hometown ten years after her father’s terminal cancer diagnosis and a breakup that she’s never truly been able to move on from, she finds inspiration in the most unlikely of places; an old building with family ties at risk of being torn down and with Abigail Matheson, the woman whose heart she broke when she was 18. Of all the things Parker expected to find upon her return, Abigail, who looks as gorgeous as the last day Parker ever saw her, was never one of them but work on the building brings the women together again and as old wounds resurface and new sparks ignite, a fire threatens everything Parker has been working so hard to rebuild. It makes her question if she can mend more than just her own broken heart and fix the mistakes she made all those years ago or if coming home again is her biggest mistake of all.
Home Again is a sapphic romance about second chances, forgiveness, and finding home not only in a place, but in the people who know you best.

I’m feeling a bit torn on this one! It was sweet, lighthearted, and I just love a sapphic romance… but…the execution felt a little "rough draft" in ways that took me out of the story.
It lowkey felt like the editing process was skipped. I ran into a fair amount of grammar issues and autocorrect gone wrong sentences that I had to re-read just to figure out what was happening. There were also times when the prose felt a bit like a high schooler trying too hard to be deep; it was a lot of flowery description that didn't always add much to the actual scene.
I actually loved that the original breakup wasn’t over anything toxic. No cheating / no "villain" arc, just teens dealing with life in a typical complicated teen fashion that lead to heartbreak.
However, I did struggle with the leads. Abigail felt like a bit of a pushover, and Parker was frustrating at times. And then it felt like they saw each other a decade after devastating heartbreak… and were just like, "Cool, let's hang out!" I wanted more tension, more friction. The yearning and reconnection felt a bit half-baked for such a long time apart and apparently devastating heartbreak.
I don’t regret reading it at all! It’s lighthearted and easy, so if you want something that won't stress you out, this is it. It just didn't quite hit that profound level for me because of the technical hiccups and the lack of emotional payoff.
Home Again is a second chance romance that actually earns its emotions and I was fully invested from start to finish.
Parker and Abigail’s relationship feels real in a way that a lot of romances don’t quite pull off. The history between them, the wounds, the way they have to navigate being in the same space again after everything, it’s handled with a kind of weight that made me care.
The chemistry is there but it’s layered, which made it so much better than a straightforward will-they-won’t-they. You feel why they fell apart and you feel why they can’t stay away.
The emotional depth is where this book shines, and I did want more of it in places. I would’ve loved to sit longer in how both women had grown and changed over the ten years apart. That maturity, how they each became who they are and what that meant for who they could be together, felt like it had more to give. The bones were there, I just wanted the full house.
My other gripes are minor but worth noting. The editing needed another pass, grammar errors pop up enough to pull you out of the story. And I wanted dual POV badly. Getting inside Abigail’s head would have added so much.
That said, this is a really strong first book and Luttrell clearly has something. The emotional instincts are there. I’m genuinely excited to see what she does next as she grows into her craft.
Parker has come home from the big city, feeling a bit aimless. When she learns from her bestie Emily that the building her father worked at that she loved is for sale cheap, she decides to buy it and fix it up.
Her ex, Abigail is also back in town, and seems to want to be friends again. Abby and her had planned to go away together to school, but at the last minute Abby changed her mind.
Emily ships them, while also teasing Parker about it. They gradually get closer, but then a suspicious fire at the building throws things into a tizzy.
3 out of 5 stars. Decent, didn't blow me away, the writing is a bit awkward. Its the author's first book, apparently.
I enjoyed reading this one! A sweet and easy read with a loveable best friend and a serious flawed main character. While Parker often frustrated me because of her choices and the classic “this would be solved if you just talked it out” trope. I loved following along with Parker and seeing her grow. I would have loved to see her life in Toronto expanded on a little more, and I would have loved a little more expansion on Abigail and a little of her past. Overall really enjoyable and I look forward to more from this author in the future!
Debut novel, Home Again by Georgie Luttrell, exceeded all my expectations! The writing is engaging, the pacing is excellent, and the story kept me hooked from start to finish. This is a fantastic read that I’d highly recommend to anyone who enjoys sappic romance. I’ll definitely be looking for more from this new author!
