Torn #5

Tamed

Rate this book
***Book five of the Torn Series, but this novel can be read as a standalone***

Mistakes—my life has been full of them. Time and time again, I’ve tried to change, tried to make the right choices, but it doesn’t matter. I always screw up.
I hoped that Adam would be different, that he wouldn’t be a mistake. Our relationship was supposed to be about sex and nothing more.
Fun, easy, simple—that was what we wanted.
But things are never simple, not for me.
Adam changed me. He made me the person I am today. I hate who I am and what I’ve become. I'm not proud of the things I've done.
I thought my greatest mistake would be falling in love with him.
I was wrong.
My greatest mistake is much, much worse.
I’ve lost control.
I have a secret I can’t hide.
It’s going to destroy everything.

My name is Amber, and this is my story.

Amber, oh Amber. What were you thinking? Sex without becoming emotionally attached? Chica, I don't think it's possible. But, hey you were out to prove something and I was in for the ride you took me on.

You, knew what you wanted from the get go. Adam. Adam is one hot looking rocker and dammit, he was going to be a fun time. But the fun took a twist. It was suppose to be a one night deal, you watched him for weeks, you knew the drill and were in.

What you didn't expect was what followed, the invitation to hook up again.

Adam!!! Adam, you are a player a hardcore man whore, love 'em and leave 'em no repeat performance, been there done that. With Amber you broke your own rules, all of the rules. What did you think was going to happen? Women are delicate flowers my friend.

This book is phenomenal!!! Amber and Adam have a crazy relationship, one they think is perfect for them. But, is it really? Can two people have a relationship that is physical and not involve feelings?

I loved and HATED Adam. This story is one you can't put down. They characters just pull you in. Adam, honestly made me so mad. Right when I was pulling my heart out to give to him, he did something so cruel and horrible.

K.A. Robinson delivers a story worth reading.

The moment I'd seen him, even though I hadn't wanted to admit it, I'd known that I would never survive him.

This book is about Chloe and Logan's longtime best friend, Amber, and Drake's band mate, Adam. We head back four years ago and see how Amber gets her heart broken before college and vows not to be vulnerable again and then move onto them during their college years that was also covered in the other books in the series, but this time it is all in Amber's point of view.

We go through the whole Chloe, Drake, Logan triangle drama again through Amber's eyes. But we also see Amber trying to move on after her her heartbreak. Amber and Drake's band mate Adam develop a spark that eventually leads to a hook up and friends with benefits situation. But both are anti-relationship or think they need to be. They both try to live in the land of denial about what they really want, need, and feel.

"Love isn't a happily ever after...It's a death sentence."
"It depends on how you look at it. Some people, like them, need it. Some people, like me...well, I'm better off without it."

Lines get blurred, jealousy, anger, separations, confusion, pain and heartbreak swirl around them until it reaches a point of no return. Things are said and done that cannot be taken back.

As more time passes, Amber feels left behind and lost as Chloe and Logan are happy with their loves and lives in LA. The band and Adam are enjoying success in LA as well. She had a hard time coping with her feelings of loss and tries anything she can to numb the pain and fill the void. But when Amber and Adam are brought back together, their emotions still run hot and cold. They still push and pull.

But when something important makes them have to communicate, will they be pulled closer together or pushed farther apart?

I will admit that I had a hard time connecting with Amber and Adam at times even though I have been interested in their relationship throughout the other books in the series. I am not sure if it is because it was all in Amber's point of view and I really missed not getting Adam's. I would have liked to really feel and understand what was going on with him especially at times of his erratic behavior. I liked them half the time and the other times I wanted to smack them for their behavior and how they hurt each other. They both frustrated me and made me so angry. Seriously, they were both so in denial, so clueless, and such hypocrites at times. The lashing out, the insults, the avoidance, the fooling around, and disregard for the other's feelings did not endear them to me. But I do understand it was part of their protective mechanisms and coping strategies. They both had such difficulty admitting or expressing their true feelings and fear often kept them locked down.

Getting attached to someone like Adam was emotional suicide. He didn't do relationships or feelings.

"You scare the sh*t out of me. You always have. The moment I laid eyes on you, I knew there was something different about you. I knew you'd change everything for me."

When we saw beneath Adam's closed off a-hole facade, I liked him. He had deep hurts and was terrified of getting hurt again. He was inconsisent and easily triggered. He struck out and he really could make some rude comments, but he could also be sweet and funny at times too. And Amber was no angel. She made some really poor decisions. They really had the potential to bring out the best and worst in each other. They could both be self destructive, cruel, give mixed signals, and impose double standards. Sometimes I wanted to shake them, sometimes lock them in a room together, and other times tell them to just stay far away from each other since they were too toxic. It was quite the roller coaster for these two.

Some of the book revisited previous events but it was in a different point of view, and we did get her take and insights into the situation. It was full of drama, angst, and volatile emotions. But I will admit that I felt the end was a bit rushed and resolved pretty fast after all of the previous years of drama. But I was glad to finally know their whole story and see a bit into their future.

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.

ARC received from the author for an honest review

K.A. Robinson manages to surprise me with every book she writes. Her first books in the series which are about Drake and Chloe (friends with Tamed's MCs) are only one of a handful of books including love triangles that didn't make me throw my paperback on the floor, on the wall, or basically anywhere. Believe me, I wanted to but surprisingly, I didn't. I couldn't let go. I just had to finish them. Now, with the fifth book in the Torn series which is now about Drake's bandmate, Adam, and one of Chloe's best friends, Amber, I wanted to throw my Kindle and I did. On my bed. We don't want to smash my baby now, would we?

When I started reading the Prologue, I knew the author had me again. I knew even though this book might get me frustrated and swear like a sailor at the characters that I won't be able to stop. I knew she'll suck me in and won't let go until my emotions and thoughts are all over the place and I don't know whether to give it a 1-star for all the emotional turmoil or a 5-star for succeeding in making me feel the characters and their story. I was right.

Adam is a charming and sexy womanizer. Being in a band, I think that made it even more easier for him to go through different women as often as he wants to. Because really, good looks and being in a band are two ingredients on having your panties melt. But Adam isn't just about his looks and his popularity, he has a good sense of humor and despite his couldn't-care-less-aura, he really has a big, gentle heart. I liked how possessive he was of Amber, I didn't particularly like him when he starts being a jerk, but Adam as a person, he's easy to like and seems like an amazing friend to have your back.

Amber, oh Amber, the prologue took me to her relationship woes. That incident that made her what she is now. That made her believe nothing is as perfect as they may seem and that hearts can easily be broken. It was a trying time for her and usually, I tend to side more with the hero than the heroine when I read my books, but Amber touched my heart. She's so tough but still so vulnerable. She had her not-so-likable moments to me but those just increased my longing to be her friend so I can get some sense into her.

Adam and Amber had some really cute moments, a lot of sexy times and some pull-my-hair-out exasperating arguments and push-and-pull in their relationship. Seriously, I think half of the book, I wanted to lock both of them in the basement until they let everything out and hash whatever feelings they have. That or I'll punch them in the gut nonstop until they admit their feelings. But well, good thing it worked out everything in the end! K.A. Robinson always do this to me! Personally, I think she's one of the few authors who can pull off such a rollercoaster ride of emotions from me and no matter how annoyed I get with the characters, I always end up still rooting for them and cheering them on until the end. Besides, the author seem to know my weakness with Epilogues because after all the struggles and road bumps that Amber and Adam went through, it was all worth it in the end.

Is it too much to ask for more Adam and Amber but this time more happy and mushy times, now that the worst was over?

I really wish I could give more than 5 stars !! I am such a fan of KA's writing and I can't explain what it is about it but something just yells to me when I am reading her books , all of them , every single one , she is amazing and I just can't get enough !! Of course I knew this book would be fabulous. Adam always interested me , I hate man whores but I think I love to hate them , I mean they are just so dirty and yummy I can't help myself !! Amber was always a great character. She has had her issues and I was really excited to finally get more of her story and fill in some of the blanks !! Plus I knew that Adam and Amber were going to be hot and I was not wrong about that !! They were electric and although they had a few moments that made me want to cringe , not a fan of the bathroom scene , damn you Adam , and although the after Jordan scene was hot I was just slightly mortified LOL !!

We meet Amber in Torn , she is Chloe's best friend along with Logan and the 3 of them have moved on from high school together to college !! They are such a great trio !! We finally get the backstory as to what happened to Amber and why she is so against the whole love and relationship thing. She attempts to do the friends with benefits with a guy she meets at school and you just know Amber is the type that is going to get bored , sure enough she does !! Amber knows what she wants and until she gets it she won't be satisfied. When she spots Adam from Drake's band she is intrigued. Yes he is a bad boy rocker and loves to screw his way through the groupies but she just can't shake the desire to have him notice her. Sure enough once he finally notices her GAME ON !!

Adam has been around since Torn as well and if you read the other books you either love him or hate him. He is Drake's bandmate and group man whore. He never pretends to be someone he isn't and to this point what we know of him is simple , he likes to screw and he will screw whoever he wants whenever !! This story takes us back to the beginning but also carries us through to the present so we get way more Adam and find out some personal things about him that may just break your heart. I just have to say that when she describes him with his piercings and tats I just wanted to melt !! SO SEXY AND HOT !!!!!!!

Amber and Adam have no problem getting together , they even decide they enjoy each other so much they want to do it whenever they feel the need. They try to keep it a secret but as you know this never works. Feelings grow and things change. They are both too scared and stubborn to admit their feelings and in the end they end up hurting each other despite saying they never would. I hate the gaps of time , although I can fill them in having read the other books I still hate that they wasted sooooooo much time. My biggest issue with the book is the wasted time. It drives me crazy. Amber tries to admit her feelings but that backfires , they both try to make the other jealous and that backfires !! There is so much angst and angry sex that it makes your head spin but it is so damn hot !! A few twists and turns happen that force Amber and Adam to face the truth and own up to their actions. This is a beautiful thing !! OMG swoon , yes Adam can be a gentleman and a wonderful guy !! He is so sweet and loving I just knew he had it in him !! Amber may finally get the happiness she deserves and Adam as well !! I NEED MORE , it cannot just end here.....Amber and Adam need some more love and I need ADAM's POV !!

I also enjoyed seeing the rest of the gang and reading about their lives through the eyes of Amber !! I am still so thrilled that CHloe and Drake have their HEA and even more so thrilled about Logan and Jade !! Now we just need to find someone for Eric !!

5 plus stars!!! I wish I can give this a 100 stars!!!

I received an arc for an honest review.

Wow, and double wow. I think I need to take a step back from this, what a book hangover! Where do I begin with this? From the moment I started the prologue till the end of the epilogue had me going. This book even had my adrenaline pumping throughout it. It was impossible for me to put it down. It was like as soon as you started reading it, you couldn’t put it down. From the first word to the last I was trapped inside the world of Amber and Adam. You always wanted to know what happens next, and of course Adam kept me on my toes begging for more. Not one sentence or scene was boring. The book and characters were well written, thought out and planned precisely. When K.A. writes, she always puts a meaning behind her books and I love that about her writing. Also I noticed she puts a little bit of herself into the female characters, like her style, music, piercings and tattoos. Love it when she does that.

I’ve always been a huge fan of her work, but this blew me away. Adam’s character blew me away. Everything K.A. had said about Adam was so right, Adam was an amazing character to read about. I’ve read all her books and have to say out of The Torn series alone Adam and Amber are my new favorite couple from the series, and this might my favorite book as well. It’s just impossible not to fall in love with both of them, especially Adam. Adam was first introduced in K.A. debut novel Torn, Adam is drake’s band mate, and Amber is Chloe’s best friend. In previous books there were hints as too, something going on between the two.
And let me tell you both of them was far from perfect.
I loved being able to read a book just focused on Adam and Amber. I loved seeing what they thought of each other when they first met, and why Amber chose him. Amber was fierce, independent, cute and a smart girl. While reading this book, I see why she liked Adam, I even fell for him. When reading I did agree with Amber on a lot of things, and saw a lot of myself in her.

She was very confident and a great friend. She took a lot of situations and made the best out of them, or didn’t let it get to her. I loved the scenes where she was with Logan or Chloe or both, and just seeing her funny and happy side. Or her really girly side. She wasn’t afraid to be herself. She was very confident and used it to her advantage, and very outgoing. She was so well written, and her character well developed throughout the book.

Adam wow what a character, and a very hot one might I say. Adam was far from perfect. You immediately tell he was a play boy, soaking up the advantages of being a local rock star. And you can tell he had a past just like any other and was damaged from the inside. He doesn’t allow anyone to get close, no relationships and certainly no feelings. Adam and Amber first meet in the bar Gold’s where his band plays occasionally, and finally three months later they start to talk, and the roller coaster begins. But Adams character you couldn’t help but fall in love with.

Throughout the book they have an understanding of just sex, no relationships, and certainly no feelings. I thought the both of them were so perfect for each other. Practically made for each other. You can’t help but fall in love with both of them. This was so well written and developed, I felt like I was watching a movie instead of reading it. And K.A. definitely has a way with words.
Highly recommend this to anyone looking for an awesome new adult read. Once again she delivered another knockout book, and as always out did her self-writing this.

As an avid fan of the Torn series by K.A. Robinson I knew that Amber and Adam's story was bound to be a good one, but to think that Adam would worm his way into my heart and share a place with Drake, one of my favorite book boyfriends, was something that never crossed my mind when beginning Tamed. After reading the four previous books in the series I certainly never expected Amber and Adam's story to be easy, but to find that it was intensely emotional and downright heartbreaking at times was completely unexpected and really so much more than I had hoped for.

The prologue sucked me in from the word go and the story kept me frantically turning pages to find out more. This story took place over the course of four years which could have had the potential to be a bit slow or drag on, but the pacing was impeccable; hitting all the right points in time, giving insight into only the most important scenes, and taking you on a journey of only the most significant times and events in some of the most imperative years of Amber's life.

The bumps along the way, the roadblocks, and the way in which Amber dealt with her pain was another surprise. We were given an idea of the downward spiral that Amber had fallen into in Toxic, Logan's story, but I had no idea she had been so hurt and broken and never knew the events that lead her to that place. Although I'm not usually a big fan of the way that she eventually chose to forget her woes, it was definitely understandable and the empathy that I felt for her staved off any hard feelings or resentment I would usually feel in the same situation with other characters or under other circumstances. My heart went out to Amber and above all else I just hoped that things would work out for her in the end.

I really grew to love Adam, even when he was at his worst, and would have loved to have been privy to this thoughts. I never thought I would become so attached to another character in this series the way that I had with Drake, but there was just something about bad boy Adam and the glimpses of vulnerability he showed along the way that made me want more and more and more.

I love a story in which at least one of the characters is so devoutly against a relationship that love has to knock them over the head and drag them kicking and screaming along for the ride. I love the tiny flashes of feelings that were never meant to be experienced that come through no matter how hard a character tries to fight it. Most of all, I love when a character is so determined and tries to be so strong all of the time, yet there are hints of weakness, of susceptibility, and a softer side that peeks through as the character starts to slip or begins to lower their guard just a bit. In this case BOTH characters are dead set on having a relationship, but when these two come together they are almost helpless to the power of their connection.

Tamed was a much rougher road for poor Amber than I ever imagined but it was well worth the struggle and the turmoil in the end. An emotionally turbulent ride that invests you in these characters and their journey and makes Tamed a difficult story not to feel for and an even more difficult book to put down. I know that five books is already a lot to ask for from a series but I would really love to see more of Adam and Amber.

I will start by saying I freakin LOVE K.A. Robinson!! This was my first time reading her work and I honestly couldn't think of one thing I'd change! After finishing this I bought the rest of the Torn series AND Shattered Ties series! I plan on getting the rest as soon as my book buying restriction is lifted :-) I don't think words can describe how much this book made me feel!

Tamed can be read as a standalone, however, I suggest starting from the begining of the series with Torn. I did NOT read the first ones, as I said this was my first of her books, but when I bought the others I realized it tells the story of the other characters in this book. BUT you will not miss a beat if you read Tamed first. One of the things I find awesome is that each characters story follows the same timeline but it's a whole other view on what's happening and someone else's life. It was so awesome how she tied them together but made them so different! That is how you know this really was her calling, simply breathtaking.

Tamed will take you on one hell of a ride! Amber and Alex's story has so many twists and turns it will give you whiplash. Just when you think you have it figured out, she throws you another curve ball. I loved that it kept me on my toes and my anxiety high going page by page. This is a book you won't be able to put down! I read it all in one sitting and finished well before bed but I couldn't start anything else with the hangover from this one! So that's when I started my stalking on K.A.!

Amber has her heart shattered just when she thought everything was perfect. College starts and she vows to never let another man have her heart. She has no problem until she meets Alex. What I loved most was that their relationship seemed genuine and believable. Obviously there is that instant attraction and she wants him like she never wanted anyone, but does not want to open her heart. Once she FINALLY gets on his radar things are pretty up and down while they figure out what they really are, and decide friends with benefits works for them both.

There is a lot that goes on and some big drama with supporting chapters also, which make up the begining of this series. Alex and Amber are perfect together and I wanted to jump in and shake them. Even being apart for LONG periods doesn't break the bond they have, at least until Amber makes a mistake! I won't say anymore about the plot because I don't want to give it away. I wasn't sure how it would end because there is a lot that happens and some pretty big cuts in their hearts, but it was perfect.

The writing was really good, you got details but not so over done that I was skimming over parts. You get to see these characters and develope how you feel about them and determine why they do things they do instead of being told. This is a must read and I am SOOOOOO excited to share this one with you guys!

Thanks for a hearfelf and amazing story K.A., and I can't wait for more!!

I love how K. A. Robinson always managed to get me all worked up with the characters she creates. And she absolutely had me over the edge with Adam. In the fifth book in the Torn Series, Chloe's best friend Amber, and Drake's bandmate, Adam, start a rather unconventional romance that had me calling both characters a few unsavory names a time or two or ten.

Amber and Adam had both been burned in previously relationships. It changed their outlooks on how they wanted to interact with members of the opposite sex. Neither of them wanted to venture into anything that looked like a relationship, because they couldn't trust anyone with their hearts. So when they start their little friends with benefits thing, I had to wonder just how long with this was going to go on, because I knew one or both of them was going to fall. Fall they did, and fall hard, but they were both their own worst enemy when it came to dealing with each other.

Adam felt it was OK for him to sleep with whomever he wanted, but Amber was his and his alone. When he'd find out Amber was with someone, he'd be come the biggest douchebag around and call her horrible names. Eventually he'd apologize and say he didn't mean it. And I would wait to see if he would finally man up and realize what he felt was jealousy because he had strong feeling for Amber herself, not the body part he claimed "called to him."

Of course, Amber was no better. She knew she loved Adam, but wouldn't do anything to change their situation. Instead, she kept the status quo, was hurt when he didn't text her or confessed that he'd been with other women, but ran right back into his arms when he showed up again. And when she basically turned into the female version of Adam.

Through 75% of this book, I wanted to smack, shake and whatever else I could think of doing to one or both of the characters. And when that wasn't enough, I wanted to throw my Kindle. But despite my emotional response, K. A. Robinson had me sucked into the story to the point I was desperate to find out what happened next....even if that meant my precious Kindle was about the fly across the room.

Amber and Adam do get their HEA. It's take a long time for each of them to pull their heads out of their asses to figure it all out. But when they finally did, the solid relationship they had before (because yes, Adam, you were in an eff'ing relationship with Amber) was even stronger.

There's one more band member left, so I'm hoping we get Eric's story. But if the Torn series finishes with Adam and Amber, I'd be happy. It's angsty, emotional, extremely hot and a series I strongly suggest, because Adam is right behind Drake for BBF in this series.

Yay!! Amber’s story! I am in love with all of the characters from Author K.A. Robinson’s Torn series, so imagine my excitement when I learned that TAMED was in the works! Even though TAMED is a part of the Torn series it Amber’s story can be read as a standalone. If you have read all of the Torn novels then you know that Amber is Chloe and Logan’s best friend. They are a trio. Adam on the other hand is a member of Drake’s band and Drake is Chloe’s husband.
I really liked Amber’s character, but I could not help but feel bad for her. Amber makes a lot of mistakes and unfortunately she is currently enduring the consequences of her mistakes. Amber was never interested in a committed relationship. Amber enjoyed being a college student with no commitments and having the ability to live the life of a careless college student. Amber was convinced that nothing would change the path that she was leading…she was content. However after tagging along with Chloe to see Drake’s band perform, she met Adam. Amber was immediately swept away by his gorgeous good looks and cocky attitude.
What can I say? Adam was a ladies’ man or so it seemed. Adam also was not interested in a committed relationship, but he was certainly interested in getting to know Amber better, but he was timid at first. Adam did not want to become involved with Drake’s girlfriend’s best friend especially when all he planned to do was love women and leave them! Yup! Adam is a womanizer. However Amber’s temptations and forwardness was no match for Adam. She was a woman with a plan and her plan was to get a taste of Adam. At first Amber and Adam agreed to keep things open and to just have fun, but once the deed was done things changed. Amber was different. Adam also caused Amber to experience a connection that she has never felt before.
Amber and Adam have fun for a while, but it was time for Adam to go on tour, so he departed after an agreement to remain friends was made. Every time Adam and Amber would get together they could not help their attraction from growing, so Adam did what he knew best…he pushed Amber away. Even after their official separation their paths kept intertwining. This is when mistakes are made….At this time I HATED Adam. I thought that there was no way that he could redeem himself for what he did to Amber and how he treated her. The real question is can Adam and Amber put the past in the past and focus on the real issue a hand? How can a mistake that was made during one careless night be fixed? You will have to read TAMED to find out!

First let me say Wow! This is the first book I’ve read of K.A. Robinson’s but it definitely will not be my last. I did not want to put it down and only did so when I had to go to sleep or work and let me tell you I probably wouldn’t have slept as much as I did if I wasn’t sick. I immediately picked it back up upon waking and when I got home.

There is not a boring moment in this book. It had me smiling, tearing up, and my heart pounding to find out what would happen next. I loved how K.A. Robinson wrote these two characters. You are immediately drawn to them and don’t want to leave the bubble that is Amber and Adam’s world.

I was immediately sucked into Amber’s life as a freshman in college. Life was not easy for Amber and her friends. I’m going to try not to spoil it too much, but I can’t really say much without the beginning spoiler. At the beginning of summer, Amber catches her boyfriend having sex with another woman and it breaks her. She decides that she will never fall for another man again. She would only have sex with no emotions.

This works for her in the beginning until she meets Adam in the band, Breaking the Hunger. Throughout their relationship, they have an understanding that there will just sex, no relationship, no dating, and definitely no feelings.
It’s not all roses far from it actually. These two are both messed up from being hurt and when Adam starts to feel a little bit too much for Amber and doesn’t know how to handle it what does he do? He pushes her away and breaks her heart.
I think Amber and Adam are perfect for each other and I couldn’t help falling in love with them. I loved reading how their relationship progressed. It may sound angsty (which I don’t like), but it really isn’t.

The only problem I had with this was it ended too quickly. I wanted more of their story. I need more and may after to take after begging K.A. Robinson for a novella or something. You will notice from my reviews that I’m normally unhappy with how short an epilogue is at the end of most books, but we didn’t even get an epilogue with this or at least I didn’t feel like we did since throughout the whole book time jumps from a couple of months here to a year there.

I highly recommend this book. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series and read how the other characters relationships evolved.

K.A. Robinson is one of those authors for me that whenever she comes out with something I automatically have to read it. I don't even need to read the synopsis before I'm one-clicking it or adding it to my TBR. I simply know that it's going to be an amazing read. I read Torn a while back and I was a goner. Every other book after that was a must read. And she does it again. She does not disappoint.

Amber and Adam's story had my emotions all over the place. One minute I'm swooning over Adam then BAM I fucking hate him and I'm internally wishing his dick falls off or some shit and then the next minute I'm a puddle of messy goo with damp panties all over again. I oh so love his dirty talking and his soft side he tries to hide.

My heart broke for Amber. She just couldn't catch a break. Using sex as an outlet and determined to never fall in love. Well, that doesn't always work out the way its supposed to. There were definitely moments when I wanted to reach in and smack some sense into Amber. And then the moments where I just wanted to comfort her.

Adam on the other hand was simply sexy. I wasn't expecting his story to be so sad. It makes sense as to why he was so anti-commitment. He got under my skin, snabbed my heart, broke it, crushed it and then put the pieces back together so perfectly.

K.A. Robinson knows how to write a story, that's for sure. She captures your attention from the very beginning. I was so drawn in I could not put it down. I love these characters. I love this series. And I love this authors writing style. This is definitely a MUST read.

Oh how I love these freaking books!!!!!!!!!!!!! KA has done it again!

This series is beyond amazing, the struggles that we all go through when we are young. It sucks because some of us have it worse than others. That doesn't make life any easier for them, or us. Amber had the prefect life growing up and thanks to her; her best friend was able to find a happily ever after. Amber falls for the wrong men and with that makes her shut herself off totally. She becomes a whore according to most people. Amber has become so lost that she has no idea which way is up or down. She is an amazing person, an amazing friend and daughter who has lost her way thanks to one person.

Adam is a hard core rocker, who believes that he can have whomever whenever and wherever he wants. He thinks that he doesn't need love he just needs sex. Amber scares the crap out of him, and he doesn't know how to handle it. So he does what every other man does, he pushes her away by being super mean to her. He makes her feel like she is the worst person ever and he wins in away. He is fighting his own demons and he lets them win for some time.

K.A. does another amazing job, with this book, from the first book in the series to this one! She puts so much of her own emotion's into her books that you can feel everything which is amazing. K.A. is one of those authors that you know you will feel this book completely

Tamed can be read as a stand alone novel!

Ok now to the good stuff. Adam has totally stolen my heart from Drake who was my first K.A. Robinson book boyfriend. (yeah i am greedy and have one book boyfriend per author lol). Adam is moody, dark at times and oh so delicious. I love how Adam and Amber meet but never say any words to each other for the first few interactions then when they get together at times there is not much conversation had at all ;) But Amber i love her too, she is like the glue that binds her two best friends Logan and Chloe but also the one looking in on the group when their lives move forward. She needs something to connect to and that thing is sex. I felt so sorry for Amber when she was on her own my heart ached for her and how she felt. Though i have stated this story s part of the Torn series and can be read alone, it is great how it incorporates other characters from the series and if you have not read the other books you will want to. The drama that unfolds through the story of Adam and Amber is immense and spans a large stretch of time, but i love that. It adds to the what will happen next goosebumps i got. Also i wanted to grab the two of them and shake them and say look at the connection between the two of you and open your eyes. But then if i could do that it would not add to the great surprises K.A. Robinson put into this story. On one final note rockstars are the new book boyfriends to have #delicious

K.A. Robinson can do no wrong.

I’ve been interested in Adam and Amber’s story since reading about Chloe, Drake, and Logan. In Tamed, we get that whole triangle rehashed through Amber’s point of view and we also see her trying to deal with her broken heart. Amber and Adam start out as FWB’s but, as they always do, things get blurred, confusion reigns, until there is no coming back from the lines that have been crossed.
It took me a little while to get into the story. Adam really pissed me off because he’s such a raging douchenozzle. Amber was hard to connect with but that only lasted a little while. Once I was able to connect, the story came together for me. Adam can actually be a nice guy when you can get past his brash exterior. Both of them had their reasons for making the decisions that they made and being closed-off. Amber was definitely no angel in this story.

Tamed is a great addition to the Torn family and I was happy to have Amber and Adam’s story resolved and to see what each of their futures held.

I was gifted a copy of Tamed in exchange for an honest review.

This is the second book I have read by K.A. Robinson. I briefly met her in February at Indie Girl Con and has to buy the paperback of Torn to see what it was all about. It was a story that I fell in love with! When the opportunity arose to read Tamed, I was definitely ready!

I could not put this book down once I started! It was great to get to see what happened with Chloe and Drake from Torn. But MAN! Adam is something else! He is definitely a bad boy with a past that was haunting him and Amber is just the cure he needs.

The relationship between the two of them was hot, they have great chemistry, but there is definitely the "no strings attached" issue. No falling in love, no relationship, just sex. K.A. Robinson certainly can write some steamy scenes that were great to read!

This was a very enjoyable read for me and I loved that it was able to hold and keep my attention. I enjoyed the characters and the story line that went along with them. I will go back and read the stories that I haven't yet because I definitely want to see what else happens with this series! If you are looking for a new bad boy, Adam is definitely for you!

Holy hotness in a handbasket! I am in love with Amber I think. A girl that has been burned by relationships and now is just after one thing?? Sex, with no strings! That's brave for a woman, knowing that most have trouble separating their feelings from sex. Amber was burned by a relationship, and now that she's at college...she wants nothing more than one night stands, with maybe a few repeats.
When Amber meets her match...meaning, he wants just the same...she is drawn to him but is determined to keep it on a sex only basis. Amber's "relationship" with this mysterious fella is hot and steamy and everything she hoped for, but there are a lot of things that become complicated. Every time they are apart they hardly talk, but when they get around each other again...it's like sparks fly. Sadly, neither one of them can open up to the fact that this is more than just sex.
Mistakes happen, people have to deal with it...it sucks when someone throws it in your face, but Amber handles it the best she can. Finally, it seems fate steps in and the truth about the feelings comes out!
Looooved Tamed...this whole series has been full of yummy goodness!!

Best book I've read all year by far. This is book five in the Toxic series and is Adam and Amber's story. They're twisted messed up love story had me hooked from the prologue all the way to the epilogue, finishing their story in less then 2 hours.
Everything was so wrong about their 'arrangement' between them. Using each other for sex, no strings attached. That was how they wanted things to be. They each had their reasons, both having shitty relationships before meeting each other at a bar.
I loved the bond Amber and Chloe shared. Chloe was a very strong girl, and I was rooting for not only Amber's happy ending, but Chloe's as well. At times their friendship was tested, and they didn't see each other for various reasons, but the bond was always there.
But Adam.
Adam
Adam
Adam
He was a rude a hole to Amber and some of the things he said to her made me want to punch him in the jaw, but he was just broken on the inside. Their relationship was toxic but put the two of them together and it worked perfectly.

This is the first in the series that I have read and I am addicted. Since finishing this book, I have purchased the ones I was missing and have started reading them all. This series is now at the top of my Must Read list for anyone.

I knew nothing of the characters before starting this book but was able to connect with them right away. I didn't feel like I was missing anything when I read it. That takes talent, to make a book that is part of a series seem like a complete stand alone. K.A. Robinson did just that.

Both Adam and Amber are both so broken. They have agreed to be f**buddies. The problems with those kinds of friends is usually one ends up more emotionally attached than the other. They find solace in each other and just need to realize how much they need each other. Of course, that can only happen when they push each other away... Gotta love big drama. At times, they both needed smacked. But in the end, the drama was worth it.

Tamed by K.A Robinson
5 Stars
Received in exchange for an honest review from Addicted to books and authors
This was my first book in the Torn series and I am hooked. We meet Amber who has made many mistakes and feel as if her life is spinning out of control then she meets Adam rock star who always goes home with a different groupie. Amber is instantly attracted to him but does think Adam feels the same until he actually speaks to her one day. As the work out a sex only agreement, Amber finds herself falling more and more for Adam but won't tell him because he doesn't do relationships. When Adam realizes her feels more for Amber he pulls the typical guy move and pushes her away and into the arms of another. Can they overcome everything and be together or will Amber's mistake be the end of them.

It was good but not as good as the other books! For the majority of the book all I read was the great sex and chemistry Adam and Amber had together but they didn't actually talk or spend time together other then in bed!

Amber, she just seemed lost to me throughout the whole book. I mean I could tell she had feelings for Adam but the only time they're ever together is in bed so other then great sex scenes they didn't really explore their relationship that much.

Adam, he was a great guy but he also ran fast and far when he thought Amber fell in love with him. We don't get his POV and I seriously wish we would of just to see how he was dealing with everything.

Overall it's a good story I just didn't see much of a relationship between the two, they never talked.

Till next time - Sweets Books

Devastated after catching her boyfriend in bed with another woman, Amber has vowed to never let another man hurt again. When she met Adam she thought he was sex on a stick, and they wanted the same thing, no commitment just sex. At least that's what she thought, but the more time they spent together the more she came to care for him, until one day she realized that she loves him. Adam has issues though and he's very anti commitment. When she let's it slip that she loves him he freaks and it drives them apart, but with so many similar friends there was no way to avoid each other forever. Every time they come together its explosive, but will they ever get past their problems long enough to see they were meant to be?
This book was great. It had a lot ups and downs and made me cry a couple of times but I loved it. I would recommend this book to everyone.

Torn series is one of my fave NA series year to date. I knew before reading this that it would be just as emotional or more than the other stories.

This is Amber and Adam's story starting from the beginning of when Amber, Chloe and Logan start their freshman year of college all the way to the current time frame.

Friends with benefits....hmm....How can you feel emotionally detached with sex and no emotions especially to a hot tattooed rocker....beats me....

Find out what happens in Amber's POV over the 6 year span and see if she can tame the bad boy that doesn't do love.

I love anything this author writes and cannot wait for more!

K.A Robinson... just so you know you made me cry!!!!
Holy crap that was amazing. I think this is the best in the series ( thats harder for me to say as I love them all) but I truly think you have outdone yourself with this one.

Adam and Amber. Where do I start with you two, hmmm... I wanted to smack your heads together and tell you to wake up, but seeing the relationship ups and downs made for a fantastic story.

Tamed kept me entertained for my nightly reading sessions I couldn't put it down.

I love this series, it has become an addiction.

Highly Recommended!

I'm kind of hovering between a 3 and 4 star rating!! There was a bit too much screwing other people in this book for me. I'm not big on cheating and although amber and Adam aren't officially together it just got to me. Plus I feel like the end was really rushed, everything through the book went into so much detail and I think some of it wasn't needed but the parts where I really felt there should have been more fell short.
