The new Loving on the Edge novel by the New York Times bestselling author of Nothing Between Us and Need You Tonight...

Oakley Easton wants two to be a good mom to her daughter and to ditch her less than ideal night job. Hooking up with bad boy drummer Pike Ryland? Not on the agenda. She needs a promotion. Not sex, tattoos and rock 'n' roll.

Pike isn't about to let Ms. Prim and Proper shut him down so easily, especially when he stumbles upon Oakley's sexy night job. She's only playing a role on those late night calls with strangers, but when he gets her on the line, all bets are off. He won't stop until that sultry voice is calling his name for real.

But as they move from anonymous fantasies in the dark to the flesh-on-hot-flesh reality of the bedroom, the risk of falling in love becomes all too high. And the safe, quiet world that Oakley's worked so hard to create is about to be exposed to the one person who could...

He would show the lovely Ms. Easton exactly why she wouldn't be able to walk away from him after one night.
Because that was definitely not an option.
One taste was supposed to satisfy the craving. But Oakley was wasn't cake, she was heroin. And he was fucking hooked.

Just a few short lines into this book and I was perfectly hooked and I knew I head another winner from Roni Loren on my hands. I've been a huge fan of this author since first discovering her Loving On The Edge series years ago. But I have to admit, not one of her other characters had intrigued me quite as much as Pike did when I first met him in Not Until You as the sexy drummer bad boy and Foster's roommate (who also took part in a very scorching threesome until both Cala and Foster realized they're meant for each other). I've been practically salivating for Pike's book and HEA ever since. I mean, I ask you, who doesn't love a tatted up rockstar drummer with a penchant for the kinky sex and dirty talk?

I knew his heroine will have to be something very special to catch his eye and boy was she. I knew I'd love Oakley from just the first chapter. Not often you meet a heroine that's preparing cupcakes for her daughter while engaging in dirty talk as a sex line operator as her day job. I couldn't help but giggle as she described the mundane experience of her "night job" while thinking about her chores. The woman had sass a mile long too.
Good news: Her libido was not dead after all.
Bad news: It still had destructive taste.
And like a recovering alcoholic, she knew to stay far, far away from that brand of temptation.

Oakley is a young single mom that's focusing on making ends meet for her and her daughter. She works two jobs so that she can give her autistic daughter everything. Men are definitely not on her to-do list; especially too gorgeous for their own good rockstars.
How can you not like me already? Usually it takes women at least a time of two to give me that look. And usually they get something out of the deal first."
"You really have to ask?"
"Yeah. I'm asking. What did I do to you? Well, besides make you think really impure thoughts at work. Because let's face it, that totally happened. It may be happening right now.

Oakley has a history with music and fame, one that burned her and she's not looking for a trip down memory lane. When a special project at her job forces to her work with Pike, his incessant charm begins to slowly chip away at all her reserves until she finally finds herself giving in. But Oakley knows it can never be anything more than just sex....incredibly hot, possessive, make you scream because it's so good sex.
Come for me, Oakley. Let me see how much you love being fucked against a wall, how bad you need my cock."

Pike is a bad boy you'll fall for right away. There's always this undercurrent of vulnerability to him that flashes behind his devil-may-care attitude. When all the pieces of his past begin to click together, your heart will absolutely break for him and everything that he's been through. While Pike thinks that all he wants is between Oakley's thighs, he soon begins to realize that what he wants most of all is inside her heart. Oakley is not so easy with her turnaround, however. Her history with men and especially men in the music business is one that left some deep rooted scars. But that doesn't mean she doesn't soon find herself falling deeper and deeper under Pike's appeal.
All she could do was stare. Pike took command of the drums like he had a personal vendetta against them, banging hard and violent but with a sharp-edged grace that made it look like moving art.

This book was a little bit different from the rest of the series in where The Ranch wasn't a large part of the sex, if at all. Pike may be a rockstar in bed and out, but he's not a man that recognizes himself as a Dom or anything else. He likes what he likes and he doesn't label it. He likes a bite of pain in his sex and he likes a little bondage, but he's not above letting the woman take control either. While he's definitely NOT vanilla, the romance between him and Oakley didn't have a very big BDSM element. So if you're a reader that doesn't enjoy much BDSM, you'd definitely enjoy this book.
The most honest version of ourselves is the one behind closed doors."

I absolutely adored Pike. He was a beast in the sack but an absolute sweetheart with Oakley and her daughter. He just had this perfect balance of sweet and badass. And of course I loved the way he gets Oakley out of her shell and straight to the dark and kinky side.
His girl wanted to be fucked hard. "I want to hurt you, mama. Break you in two and put you back together.

I don't think there was anything I didn't enjoy about this book. It was sizzling hot and with a fantastic story that was perfectly paced. The sex was scorching but it never took away from the romance, only added to it. It's not often you find an author that finds that perfect balance of erotic but without overwhelming it with sex.

Fans of this series will absolutely love Pike and Oakley. And if you haven't read this series, it's one I highly recommend. You can easily read this as a standalone, though you'd enjoy it more if you read it in order. There's some cameos here that I loved hearing more about. I can't wait for more in this series. It seems like it only keeps getting better and better.

Oakley Easton is a single mother who works hard at trying to give the best to her daughter with special needs and making ends meet. In order to do that, she has needed to take on a night job that she is not really interested in, but for her daughter and the money, she will keep doing it. She works as a phone sex operator and makes sure to keep it hidden from everyone. Since her priority is taking care of her family, she really doesn't have much time to focus on romance. So when the hot as hell tattooed drummer known as Pike Ryland enters her life, she knows he is bad news and doesn't want to go there, no matter how attracted to him she is. But her day job at her daughter's school has them working together. Since she use to be in a girl band and has some musical knowledge, they assign her to work with Pike on a musical project with the children. Resisting him proves to be hard when Pike is persistent in getting what he wants.

I really liked Oakley, I loved how hard she worked to take care of her daughter Raegan. She would do anything to give her the best and protect her and I loved that. I loved how sassy Oakley could be. She has been deeply affected by the things that occurred to her while she was in the spotlight in her past. She has been constantly been let down, especially by men. Which is why she was quite distrustful of Pike. She just couldn't do the fling thing that he wanted with her. She knew that she could keep her emotions out of it. But Pike was so charming and sexy, it's really not that hard to fall for him.

I really loved Pike. Holy cow was this man hot. He was intense, possessive, and dirty. What was there not to love. Pike wanted to hook up with Oakley. What he didn't expect was that with each moment he spent with her trying to get her to give in, he would end up falling for her and wanting so much more. My heart just melted with how sweet he was with Raegan and Oakley. I loved how much he cared for them. I also loved his kinky side so freaking much. His dirty mouth had me hooked. He was just really awesome.

This book has some scorching hot sex scenes that will make your panties melt. It had some kinky elements to it that made it so much more hotter. The romance was really well done as well. It wasn't just about the sex so I was really happy about that. The only things I didn't like so much was how long it took Oakley to realize that what Pike was feeling was real. Because of this, she would sometimes annoy me. I liked her, but didn't end up loving her. Pike I totally ended up loving. Raegan as well, she was such a sweetheart. I enjoyed the story very much. This was my second book by Roni Loren and it did not disappoint. If you love cocky and sexy tatted musicians with a penchant for dirty sex, than this is for you.

5 Call On Me Stars

Call on Me is a standalone and is part of the Loving on the Edge series. I have read a few books in this series and I read them out of order. Call me crazy, but I like to skip around. This is Pike’s story and I have to say, I REALLY REALLY REALLY loved it.

Oakley loves her job, but it doesn’t pay that much, so she has to get a second job as a sex operator, but wait it gets better, she’s a SINGLE MOM! You know I love my single mom books. Sigh, what a great Heroine. She needs to pay the bills and she picks a job that she can work from home. I just love it. I really like Oakley. I found her very level-headed, strong, and confident. She just knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to say it. Her daughter is her priority and she doesn’t want any flings.

Pike is a drummer for a band that is starting to take off. He’s been in the previous books as a watcher and performer with his friends so he’s had threesomes, I didn’t read these parts, but I will go back now! He doesn’t want relationships and he **GASP** doesn’t likes kids. His friend volunteers him to help out with kids at a music program and he reluctantly obliges. I liked Pike a lot. I think it’s because he’s a little bit of everything. He’s not a full Dom, but he’s okay with being kinky. He just does what feels good. He’s also very sweet to Oakley, yet very alpha and male (yum!).

Oakley has to work with Pike on the charity project. I love Oakley and Pike’s relationship. It’s not insta-lust at first (as much as I like that), but there’s really cute banter. I like it when the Hero pursues the Heroine and everything is out in the open. Oakley doesn’t hide the fact she has a daughter and I like that there’s no big secret throughout the book.

As Pike and Oakley get closer, both still need to work on personal issues. Oakley doesn’t want any man in her life. She can’t have her daughter get attach to someone who is going to leave the both of them and Oakley tries very hard to be a strong mom, but she also wants to feel desired and wanted. Pike has major mommy and daddy issues. He has a past and because of it, it’s hard for him to feel like he is good enough for anyone.

I liked that Pike pushed Oakley’s boundaries and it really kicked the kink factor up a notch. The steam was off the charts and perfect in my opinion.

What really worked for me was the flow of the book. I loved the beginning, middle and end. I thought each part had the perfect pace, plot and enough tension to keep me interested. I really liked the characters and I connected with them fully. There was always something going on and I loved this book wasn’t just a single note. I will definitely be going back and will read the rest of the series ASAP.

Ever heard that lyric, "Lady on the street but a freak in the bed"? Well... that's Oakley. By day she's a respectable up-tight receptionist but at night she's a phone sex operator. Granted, she doesn't get off on her night job, it's still a shock to people which is why it's a well hidden secret of hers. Needless to say, there aren't a lot of guys who approve of her late night phone calls, which is fine by her since she's too busy to date anyways. However, in comes Pike, this punk rocker with tattoos and piercings, who not only figures out what her other job is but doesn't judge her for it either. I don't think I need to explain what happens next.

This was a very interesting book for me. I read a snippet of in at the end of Nice Girls Don't Ride and knew I had to get my hands on it. The book starts off with Oakley on the phone with a customer while she makes brownies and pretends to be interested in the (I'm totally guessing his age here) old geezer who's panting away in the ear piece of her phone. She burns her hands on the brownie pan and of course swears at the pain... only, the dude thinks she's in the moment and gets worked up over it all. Oakley being a good phone sex employee plays off of his assumption and oohs and ahhs her way over to the sink where she can run cold water over her hand. I'm sorry, but that right there had me sold. How could you say no to a book that starts off like that?

This is a Loving on the Edge book and it doesn't disappoint in the sex department. Not only due to Oakley's job but when Pike figures out what she does after hours, he calls her up and puts her phone skills to use. I have to tell you, there are some scenes that are.... well, let's just say they are something. I went to a sex shop once and saw a glass dildo. I totally gave it a o.0? look. I mean glass... in your hoohah sounds like a dangerous combination. Well, after reading a certain scene with a glass dildo in ice water, I'll be looking at that clear shlong a whole lot differently next time.

In all seriousness though, this not only had the sexiness that you've come to love with the LotE series, but there are a lot of "feels" to it too. I had no idea that there's a kid in this novel. Oakley has an eleven year old daughter who is in love with 80's punk rock. She was adorable. Now, normally I don't particularly care for children in romance novels, let alone an erotica but this actually worked REALLY WELL. Having Raegan in the picture brought a whole other ball game to the mix. This isn't just a story about two adults getting it on and finding love. Nope. This is so much more than that. It's not often that I have a heart warming moment from a book... but I had quite a few of them while reading Call on Me. Those moments make you love the characters that much more.

I will say this, this is a great series. I haven't read all of the books. I've actually kind of jumped around and read like the 3rd book first, then back tracked a couple, then jumped to the 5th book, and just recently read the first book. I had no problem jumping around like that. The author writes each book in a way that is unique to the characters in the pages. You never feel like you're getting part of a story. Now, if you were to read the books from start to finish you would see reoccurring appearances from characters and even see them get their own novels in the future books, but you don't ever feel left out of the mix if you don't read them in order. It's not like it's assumed that you know this person is married to that person and all their personal drama. Instead, you learn about them like Oakley does. Heck, I read Jace's book and didn't realize that the Jace who was working at the sex shop Oakley was in was someone who I read about. It wasn't until Pike told Oakley about Jace's husband and wife that I remembered reading about a trio in one of the previous books. So that right there proves that you don't need to read the previous books to understand what's going on. This is a great series and if you're looking for a great book that will not only give you the feels but has some steamy scenes mixed in, then look not farther.

Favorite quote...
"She could handle a ridiculously hot guy talking to her about vibrators. Sure. She was totally cool with this. Not awkward at all. Nope. "

This was such a delightful surprise!

It begins as a warm, feelgood romance. A strong main character, Oakley is a single mom, whose day job isn't quite cutting it. She also moonlights as a phone sex operator. I loved all her layers. Prim, put together mom, then underneath she was a feisty wildcat!

Pike is a drummer, working on regaining his band's momentum, but really just getting tired of the life. He agrees to help with a children's charity music project, and finds himself completely smitten with the layered mom who is in charge.

Oakley's daughter, Reagan, was a delight. She is as strong a personality as her mother, and watching Pike grow to love her along with her mother did a little something extra to give me All The Feels.

As Pike and Oakley begin their relationship, the book takes a turn for the steamy, OMG Hot! Their chemistry is off the charts, and even when they're battling the emotional relationship, they can't deny the physical.

There was a little drama, but mostly you have two adults working through the conflicts and complications of a relationship and trying to meld two very different worlds. I love when characters are mature and actually act their age.

Call on Me was everything a good read should be; delightfully funny, full of all the feels, and panty-meltingly sexy. ~ George, 4 Stars

Another fantastic, sexy, and emotional addition to one of my FAVE series! I love this author. I love this book. I love these characters. I LOVE every single thing about this romance! It has everything you could ever want in a romance and SO MUCH MORE! Roni Loren takes erotic romance to a whole other level. Intrigue, suspense, scorching hot sex with a rock star! What more do you need? The answer? NOTHING! PIKE RYLAND is all you could ever want in a hero, a book boyfriend, whatever the hell you want to call him. HE IS THE MAN!

I'm hooked on this series, and CALL ON ME has to be a favorite of mine. So many emotions. So many feels. It was so captivating and beautifully exhausting. Pike is a male lead that will make you shiver, swoon, and blush. Oakley is a female lead that you will stand by, root for, and envy. Together, their chemistry was out of this world HOT! Their story is one you will always remember. Beautiful, unique, heartwarming, and heavenly, I became consumed by this story. I adore this author's writing style and the character's voices that just grabbed me and wouldn't let go, made this love story one to remember. CALL ON ME was refreshing, inspiring, and beautiful. These character's personal journeys mesmerized me. It filled me with hope and contentment. Loren continues to crank out these wonderful stories with amazing characters and fascinating storylines. I'm bewitched by her way with words. I fall deeper in to this world Roni Loren has created, and I'm always sad to leave. I always tell myself to read these slow, savor every single word, but it's extremely hard when you need a romantic fix like this. Sexy, emotional romance that will leave you craving for more. THAT is the Loving On The Edge series by Roni Loren. Passion that is raw and unforgiving. Passion that will make you surrender...you will get this and so much more from this incredible read!

Disclaimer: I won this book as an e-ARC in a contest. (However, I'll also be running out to buy it in hard copy the day it's released!)

I loved "Call on Me", Roni Loren's latest book in her "Loving on the Edge" series. The opening scene, which shows Oakley baking brownies while having phone sex for money was incredibly funny. We see Pike as he's realizing he's actually tired of the groupies, which was just as good.

Pike comes across at first as a typical rocker bad boy as he flirts mercilessly with Oakley. Oakley is attracted despite her best intentions; her plate is already full with two jobs and a special needs daughter.

The scene in Jace's store had me laughing so hard tears came to my eyes. And then towards the end, there were tears in my eyes for a different reason. Roni Loren knows just how to tug on the reader's emotions. The sex scenes are hot hot hot, and I'll never be able to hear "Wicked Game" again without thinking of Oakley and Pike.

The plot moved the story along, the characters remained true to themselves, and as usual, Roni Loren has knocked it out of the park. This may be the best LOTE book yet!

Im so shocked that this series havent picked up like it should. If you like 50 shades you definitely will love this series. At the end of this one we have a novella called House Call.

The title was perfect for this book from her part time job as a phone sex operator and Pike realizing he finally has a family.

Before I start this review I have to inform you I just love this series. It's so addicting I finished this one in a few hours. At times I almost found myself crying for Pike. The poor guy looks strong and tough but all he wants is someone to really love him.

Oh my...my emotions are all over the place. Just read this one and the series you won't regret it.

CALL ON ME Is An Absolute Winner!

Roni Loren has been a must-read for me ever since Crash Into You, her first Loving On The Edge novel. She has the knack to rope you in (No pun intended. Well okay, maybe a little.) from the very first page, usually by dropping you into a conversation or situation that immediately intrigues the hell out of you. You want to know more! I adore these kind of beginnings.

The opening of CALL ON ME is no exception. Loren has us eavesdropping on Oakley Easton as she tries to drum up enthusiasm for a client during her late night/work from home/ much needed second job as a phone sex operator. Loren's talent to create vivid visuals of her scenes is delightful and she is a master at dialogue. This very funny opening gives us an intriguing glimpse of Oakley's personality as she delicately handles her caller, as well as a few details of her life as a single mom to an eleven year old special needs girl.

I liked that we are introduced to Oakley first. I was certainly a bit worried about the woman who my beloved Pike was going to fall for! My worries were for naught. Oakley is perfect. She was caught up in the music business as a young teen, taken advantage of by her manager, and when she found herself pregnant, was shunned by her very conservative parents. Even though she had the support of her brother, life for Oakley and Reagan has not been easy. But Oakley is not a quitter! She is strong, talented, and loves her daughter with all her heart. She just wishes sometimes there was a Prince Charming, and an extra few hours in a day, to make her feel like a desirable woman.

Pike's intro is next, even though most of us know him from Not Until You, and it is just as telling and hilarious as Oakley's. Pike's status as hot, tattooed drummer for the band Darkfall has offered him every opportunity with the ladies. And, he's taken just about all of them. Pike could very easily be a giant douche but again, those of us who read Not Until You, know better. His adoption of and feelings for the poor abused mutt, Monty, was a sure indication of something deeper than the bad boy musician. In CALL ON ME we are treated to the real Pike, heartwarming and heartbreaking alike.

Loren is such an artful storyteller. She carefully peels away the layers of her characters, slowly revealing more and more, drawing us in until we feel as if we know them personally. I mentioned that she is a master at dialogue, but the witty banter just blows my mind! It's amazingly fun. The chemistry she creates between Oakley and Pike is slow to burn but when it catches fire it is oh so hot to witness. These two are people who have lived behind armor for years and it's not easy to shed. Loren doesn't take any cop outs in her plot. She has created a believable story that is so delicious you want to savor it but if you're like me, you'll need to snarf it down as fast as you can. You can always go back for seconds.

I will probably just start sounding like a broken record when it comes to this series, but I don’t really care. I absolutely LOVE it! Roni Loren knows exactly what she needs to give fans and Pike’s book is proof of that. We’ve all been dying to read more about the hot rocker we met in NOT UNTIL YOU and let me tell you…. the wait is so worth it.

CALL ON ME is different in some aspects from the other books in this series. There’s less focus on BDSM and The Ranch and more focus on just this great relationship between Pike and Oakley. Oakley used to be in a pop group but that left a bad taste in her mouth and she’s been living hiding from that truth ever since she got out. All she’s been focusing on is doing her best at providing for her autistic daughter. And that has meant taking on two jobs. During the day she works at a center for under privileged children and at night she’s a phone sex operator. Everything was fine until Pike walked through the door of her day job and was assigned to work with her on a music project for the kids.

Sparks fly, and I self-combusted. CALL ON ME should come with the warning of “be careful while handling because it will burn your fingers off!” Every time I finish a book in this series I say it’s my favorite and the hottest. Well it is! Again! :) Pike and Oakley have the best chemistry I’ve read in a while. But then again, Ms. Loren is always good at delivering that. When I finished reading this book I had completely forgotten everything else I had read for months before. You ask me what to recommend and it would be this.

But I don’t want to go on and on about how hot this is because there’s so much more to this story than just that! This book was fun and playful but also emotional. The balance of it all was key in delivering this well rounded and completely satisfying book. I couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Love rock star romances? Read this. Love deep stories with a lot of heart? Read this. Want a book that will leave you panting? Read this. Bottom line….READ THIS! It’s that good!

4 Pike Loving Stars!!!

Source: eARC for Honest Review Courtesy of Berkley | Penguin Group

Hot Damn! Does Roni Loren know how to write Erotica!!!

In Call on Me we finally get Pike's book.  And what a perfect combination than rock star and BDSM.  Pike has been the loyal fun friend but his past has left him scared and not realizing that he too deserves love and happiness like his friends.

Oakley Easton has a chip on her shoulder but deservedly so.  Now a single mother of a special needs girl, she's having a hard time making ends meat.  The last thing she needs is a distraction.  Especially a tall, tatted, blond sexy one.  But Pike Ryland steps into her life and changes everything.

Pike oozes sex appeal and confidence but Oakley keeps him at bay to protect her numb heart.

" . . . And seriously, how do you and your ego fit in the same room?"

"We work it out.  And that was more than shock.  You wanted me."

The more Pike flirts the more she lets him in, but she's torn with want and need.  Which causes a bit of a push and pull where it comes to Pike and what he means to her.

Pike and children don't mix but there is something about Oakley and Reagan that he wants more from.   Because of his past he doesn't think that anyone could truly want him as Pike 'the man' instead of Pike 'the rockstar'.  Pike's an all or nothing type of guy and follows his instincts.  And his instincts are telling him to not let Oakley go.

" . . . Get over it, mama."  (Gotta admit I'm not sure about the endearment Mama.  I'm more leaning to the not so much feeling while I was reading)

They have quite a rocky start.  First with Oakley's push and pull game and then when their insecurities take center stage.

She'd taken the choice completely out of his hands,

"This impacts both our lives.  We should both be there."

I know she's been wronged before but damn poor Pike has to work so hard to win her heart.

"You don't want that or you don't want me?"

Gah! Poor Pike.  The more Oakley's insecurities get the better of her the more they drag up poor Pikes.  The more this happens the more she hurts Pike.  And I gotta say that saddens me because I LOVE Pike and all his awesomeness and his amazing heart.  Even though I get it.  Every time she hurts Pike, I end up liking Oakley less.

Pike and Oakley bring out the best of each other which helps Oakley finds out about her self and her needs.

"The most honest version of ourselves is the one behind closed doors.  I'm sure you see that with the calls you take.  You probably know more about your callers true selves than ninety-nine percent of the people in their lives.  Sex and how we feel about it, what we crave?  That's about as vulnerable as a person can get.  So with my friends, instead of hiding it, we let one another see behind our closed doors.  It's a privilege we don't take lightly."

However, needs and love don't always win out.  Especially with the fear of getting hurt.  For some reason, some people and in this case, this heroine believe trying to prevent themselves from getting hurt will prevent any heartache.  Hurt happens its inevitable for all forms our our lives and we can't prevent it.  The more we try the more we cause unnecessary heartache.

"But if you know Pike at all, you know that for better or worse, he's all heart. . . .

He loves you.  And he loves your kid.  And I've been friends with him long enough to know that once Pike Ryland loves you, it's absolute.  You'll never find a more loyal , giving, good-hearted man than him.  He's the guy I'd call if I needed to bury a body, because he wouldn't ask questions.  He'd trust that I had a good reason and bring the shovel."

This book can be read as a standalone but reading the series as a whole, makes it a much more pleasurable experience.  Especially reading Yours All Along #7.5 before this book, which will help give a better understanding of Devon and Hunter whom are Easton's brother and brother-in-law.

Do I love this series?  Absolutely 100% Yes.  Do I recommend it?  YES!!!  Did I love Pike?  You bet. He stole my heart and will be making an appearance on my next book boyfriend Monday.  Did I love this book?  Yes, but I didn't love Oakley completely.  Did I understand why she was the was she was? Yes, but after falling for Pike and all his sweetness it was hard to love her when she kept hurting him.  Will I continue with this series?  Hells yeah! You can't stop me.  When I see Roni Loren I say when?  She's such a great writer.  Her stories have tons of heart and oh boy tons of steam.  Yowza!!!!

If it was just Pike it would be a 5 but with Oakley and such it gets a 4 for me this time around.

Ok Wow! Roni does it again. One of my favorite quotes from the book… “But Oakley wasn’t cake, she was heroin. And he was ... hooked.” Well consider books my cake and Roni’s writing one heck of an addiction. There are many authors that attempt to do BDSM and erotic romance and there are a rare few that do it right. Roni is one of those very few. I can tell you that one of the biggest pet peeves of those in the lifestyle when it comes to writers doing BDSM is so many of them get it wrong. It’s not only the fact that Roni hits the nail on the head in her scenes but the fact that she totally nails relationships that keeps me coming back time and time again.

In Call On Me, Oakley is an ex-child rock star and a mother of an autistic child of eleven. After her stint in the music industry she disdains musicians and tattoos. So who should slink his way into her life? That’s right Pike, bad ass tattooed drummer boy extraordinaire. He’s conceited, all that and Mr. flirt from the get go. Oakley’s standoffish and buttoned up tight with a sexy voice to die for. The sparks between these two fly from the start. I’ve never enjoyed phone sex so much. Oh did I forget to mention that Oakley’s second job is that of a phone sex operator? You have to give her props because it all comes down to what a mother wouldn’t do to provide for her kid. And while her voice might rock a few boats it’s all role playing to Oakley. It’s been so very long since anyone has rocked her boat.

By day Oakley works as a receptionist and music coordinator at a children’s center. It’s that role that brings her head to head with Pike. Her boss throws them together on a charity music project involving the kids Oakley works with. At Pike’s suggestion rather than doing a one-time children’s musical with limited income potential they set out to record music at his studio and release it for an ongoing income.

Pike is rough around the edges. He had an abusive childhood. He’s guarded with only a few friends that truly know him. Yes you guessed it our favorite Ranch hands. He’s leery of working with kids. He’s use to groupies and one night stands. He has no clue how to do a relationship. All that aside the more Pike gets to know Oakley the deeper he falls. One night will never be enough and he has his hands full convincing Oakley that they have something that’s worth going the distance for. I loved watching these two interact.

As much as I love the Ranch it didn’t play a major part in this book. That’s not to say that BDSM wasn’t a part of this relationship as it is in the rest of the series. Oakley discovers her need to let go in the role of a submissive and Pike discovers the dominant side of himself that has never before been inherent until Oakley.

I truly enjoyed this addition to the Loving on the Edge series. I’m so glad I was given the opportunity to review it. I can’t wait for the next. Review copy provided via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

By now you know that I'm a fan of Miss Loren, and that I buy everything she writes pretty much as soon as it's released. Apart from the incredible chemistry between her characters, more often than not they are kind, level-headed people who are ready for their character growth and who manage it gracefully even if it's not always easy. Pike and Oakley are both such characters.

I met Pike in my first book by Roni (her serial Not Until You, first installment of which is free from all online retailers), and instantly liked him. He was charming, looked like a naughty surfer boy and had a gentle heart. He also adopted a previously abused dog from an animal shelter because he really wanted to help. An incredibly talented drummer, whose band is on the rise, he however feels like he outgrew the excitement of touring the country and having sex with strangers after each concert, and wants steady relationship or none at all.

Enter, Oakley! A single mother of a difficult but brilliant girl, she works very hard to make her baby daughter happy, and she is definitely not looking for one night stand. And for her, Pike is the embodiment of carefree, no strings attached fun. They are forced to work together on a charity project for kids, and sparks fly between these two. Pike desperately tries to prove to Oakley that he is worth taking a chance, but he can't admit even to himself the level of commitment he is ready for.

Add to this Oakley's own interesting past, the secrets she keeps, and the allure of her bright but so rigidly contained personality, and Pike just cannot resist the whole package. Oakley, in turn, can't keep lying to herself about her attraction to this talented drummer with unexpected layers.

This is a beautiful, caring, feel good book, it's also sexy as hell. I had slight issues with the ending, because I wanted a resolution for Oakley's possible new career, and it wasn't done, but overall, I loved this book, and I liked the bonus short story about Doctor Theo and an artist, Maggie, in the end. Very much recommended.

I love Jace but I've got to say that Pike has come up there with Jace. Pike is cocky, has swagger and he's into whatever to pleasure the woman he wants to be with.

Pike is a drummer, he's Fosters friend and he's part of The Ranch. He's down for whatever, he's done a bit of everything except for being with a guy sexually. But he's shared women with his best friend Foster. He meets Oakley and there's a spark there but she tries to push him away. She has a daughter that goes to school where she's in a small class because she has special needs. Reagan is a great kid. Love that Oakley is a mama bear if anything threatens her daughter she won't hesitate to do whatever it takes to protect her.

This book is a bit different from Roni Loren's other books. Oakley is a mom and her daughter is her priority and has been for a very long time. She's a single mom and has past that she doesn't share with others. Pike also has a past that no one knows about except a few that have known him since he was a teenager. He's not into commitments or anything but a good time. But Oakley's not that type of woman and he knows it but doesn't stop him from pursuing her.

This story is full of emotions, it a roller coaster ride that will make you laugh and get teary eye. Love what Pike calls Oakley, it's cute and sweet. Love that Jace was in this one and another little guess makes a little cameo in this book. Foster's also in this one and Devon and Hunter.

I need more Pike and Oakley. There's so much I want to say that I loved about this book but don't want to ruin it for anyone. This is Roni Loren's best book yet. Each book from the Loving on the Edge series can be read as a standalone. If you haven't read a book by Roni Loren yet puck this one up. I highly recommend it.

My Thoughts:

Call on Me is an exquisite erotic novel. Even though it is the eighth book in the Loving on the Edge Series, these books do not need to be read in order. I haven't read them sequentially, and was not lost or confused in any way. However, I got introduced to plenty of interesting secondary characters, which makes me excited and determined to go back and read all of their stories.

Call on Me is the story of single hard working mother, Oakley Easton and the sexy bad boy drummer, Pike Ryland. Oakley is raising her eleven year old daughter, Reagan, who has high functioning Autism. In order to make ends meet, she works two jobs. One of her jobs is as a secretary for Bluebonnet Place, a children's charity, and the other job is as a telephone sex operator, which she is able to do late at night from home, while Reagan sleeps.

Oakley is in charge of a musical fundraising event for Bluebonnet, and Pike has been pressured into helping out with the event due to his musical expertise. From outward appearances, Oakley and Pike do not look compatible. Oakley appears very conservative and proper. Her whole life has been dedicated to taking care of her daughter, and she has been celibate for the last five years. Pike has a ton of tattoos, and piercings, belongs to a secret BDSM sex club, and has had nothing but no strings attached sex from groupies recently. However, there is no denying the attraction and sexual awareness that infiltrates between these two, when they begin working together on the musical fundraiser.

Oakley wants a responsible man who works eight to five in a stable and secure career, not a bad boy musician. Pike isn't looking for a relationship, and he is uncomfortable around kids. He can tell that Oakley is not the type of woman that he should be pursuing. However, the more time spent together, solidifies a shared passion for music, and a deep connection emerges after these two realize, you shouldn't judge another person based on their outward appearance. Is taking a chance on love worth the risk of getting a broken heart?

Oakley was a great character. I loved how she was such a loving, patient, and dedicated mother to Reagan. She was also such a fun character. She had a sassiness to her, and was a very strong woman. Sometimes her stubbornness worked against her, but she had a huge heart, and knew how to learn from her mistakes. Pike was a character that I loved. He was fiercely protective of Oakley and Reagan. Pike was patient, caring, and really good at relating to Reagan, and making her feel safe, secure, and happy. He had a traumatic childhood, that gave him deep emotional scars, and I enjoyed seeing the girls mend his heart.

The relationship between Oakley and Pike was hotter than a steaming sauna. I could feel myself blushing from these highly erotic and explicit love scenes. These two used a variety of sex toys, role playing, and some aspects of the BDSM lifestyle. Let's just say this story taught me a few things! Call on Me was very eye-opening as far as sexual variety and creativity is concerned. However, what I loved was that this story wasn't just about the sex. There was also a very touching and emotional dynamic as well. The trust between Oakley and Pike started off as nonexistent and flourished in to a deep and abundant aspect in their relationship. They both had a giving nature, were big hearted, and yearned for a deeper connection with a loving partner.

My Rating:

I give, Call on Me, by Roni Loren, 4.5 Obscenely Erotic, Carnal Abandon, Emotional Healing, Sexy & Sweet Romance Filled Stars! Ms. Loren has proven herself to consistently write stories with richly crafted characters, sexually evocative plots, and emotionally riveting relationships. You can't go wrong if you pick up a book written by Ms. Roni Loren!

Wow I don't even know where to begin with stating how much I loved this book!! I am a huge fan of Roni Loren's Loving on the Edge series, and Call On Me is an excellent addition to this series. Call On Me, which is the 8th book in the Loving on the Edge series, tells the story of Pike Ryland, Ian Foster's best friend, who we met for the first time in the Not Until You serial installments (Book 4 in the series and told the story of Ian Foster and Cela Rodriguez), and Oakley Easton, the younger sister of Devon, who we met in Yours All Along (Book 7 of the series and is the story of Devon and Hunter). Call On Me was so NOT the story that I was expecting to read. It was so much better. So much more!! Honestly, this series just keeps getting better and better. Call On Me was an emotional, heartfelt and yes, funny read!! And I loved it!!

Ok, now can I tell you that I love Pike Ryland??!! Pike is the drummer for the band Darkfall, but he is also starting to move into producing music for other up and coming artists, which we saw in Nothing Between Us(Book 6 in the series, and is the story of Colby, Keats and Georgia), when he began producing music for Keats, an up and coming artist on the Country Music Scene. Pike Ryland is not the man that people think he is!! He not merely the gorgeous, fun loving, life is simple guy that he shows the world!! No, instead there is so much depth, emotion, insecurity, and complexity to this man that hides behind the smile that he puts on for everyone, and I seriously just wanted to wrap him up in a blanket and hug him. Pike truly was a joy to get to know. I loved the way he loved Oakley, and fought for the relationship.

Oakley is the beautiful receptionist and mother to 11 year old Reagan(I must say that I loved Reagan. She was a breath of fresh air!! I also loved that Roni Loren dealt with the topic of children with special needs), but Oakley also has a past, one that has an effect on her present and how she sees herself and what she needs to make her life complete. However, she doesn't anticipate the arrival of Pike and what he means to her orderly life!! I do have to say that I loved that Oakley was a strong independent woman and that she was able to hold her own against Pike, who is a force to be reckoned with, but she also drove me a little batty. She had a way of making Pike feel bad about himself that was unfair and did not comport with the way he was treating her.

Call On Me was an excellent read, and it was extremely well written. The characters were complex and very well developed. The flow of the story was perfect. Roni Loren did a great job at conveying all of the emotions and feelings that Pike and Oakley were feeling while on their journey towards happiness and fulfillment. OMG I absolutely loved the fact that we were given an even deeper look into Foster and Pike's friendship. These two guys are more than friends, they are brothers!! And yes, there are plenty of opportunities to interact with all the other members from The Ranch in this one, too. Great job on this one, Roni Loren. I cannot wait to read Break Me Down, Gibson and Sam's book. I seriously hope this series never ends!!! I love it!!

One of my favorite things about this series is that each book can be read as a standalone, and not only can you read each book by itself, all the books are different. I hate when you read a series but all the books are basically the same, not the Loving on the Edge series. Each couple has their own problems and their own kind of kink. Some books feature doms and submissives, others threesomes, or bisexual partners, but all of the books are different. Call on Me may be one of the tamer stories in the series, but it doesn’t make me love Oakley and Pike any less, in fact they may be one of my new favorite couples.

“Who the hell was that?” Foster asked.
My torment. “No one. Just a mom I’m working with on that charity project.”
Foster’s smile was wry. “Uh‑huh. You normally get hard‑ons for moms you work with?

I’m not usually into stories where someone has children. I like romance I don’t want the reality with babies crying and snotty noses, but it didn’t bother me at all that Oakley was a single mother. It was only a small part of who she was. Just like even though Pike was a rock star that was still only a tiny part of him as a whole. He was cocky, funny, sweet, and sensitive. I fell head over heels for Pike fast, there’s just something about him that drew me in and never let go.

“Thank you for earlier.”
He glanced over at her with a hint of a smile. “For which part? Orgasm number one or number two? No, that’s a stupid question. Number one was strong, but I thought I really nailed it on that second one.”

Even though I really enjoyed the story I did have a few things that bothered me. Oakley sees someone from her past that could screw up things for her new life big time, but that all gets taken care of rather quickly and I still had unanswered questions. I would also have loved to get more info about Pike’s family (such a sad story) but that too seemed like it was over too fast. Although, anything dealing with Pike had me captivated so maybe that’s just me wanting more.

“You’re not playing fair, James Pike Ryland.”
He looked back to the road, a shuttered look on his face. “You should know better than to expect that. I don’t play fair. I play dirty.”

I love this series. All the books are different but they all feature amazing couples with insanely erotic sex scenes and a fantastic storyline. You really can’t go wrong with any of these books, but if you haven’t read one of Roni Loren’s novels yet I highly suggest picking up Call on Me. It’s a great introduction to this wonderful series and there’s no way you won’t fall in love with Pike.

"And by the way, you completely suck at this one‑night‑stand thing.”
“I’ll try to do better next time.”

I will probably just start sounding like a broken record when it comes to this series, but I don't really care. I absolutely LOVE it! Roni Loren knows exactly what she needs to give fans and Pike's book is proof of that. We've all been dying to read more about the hot rocker we met in NOT UNTIL YOU and let me tell you.... the wait is so worth it.

CALL ON ME is different in some aspects from the other books in this series. There's less focus on BDSM and The Ranch and more focus on just this great relationship between Pike and Oakley. Oakley used to be in a pop group but that left a bad taste in her mouth and she's been living hiding from that truth ever since she got out. All she's been focusing on is doing her best at providing for her autistic daughter. And that has meant taking on two jobs. During the day she works at a center for under privileged children and at night she's a phone sex operator. Everything was fine until Pike walked through the door of her day job and was assigned to work with her on a music project for the kids.

Sparks fly, and I self-combusted. CALL ON ME should come with the warning of "be careful while handling because it will burn your fingers off!" Every time I finish a book in this series I say it's my favorite and the hottest. Well it is! Again! :) Pike and Oakley have the best chemistry I've read in a while. But then again, Ms. Loren is always good at delivering that. When I finished reading this book I had completely forgotten everything else I had read for months before. You ask me what to recommend and it would be this.

But I don't want to go on and on about how hot this is because there's so much more to this story than just that! This book was fun and playful but also emotional. The balance of it all was key in delivering this well rounded and completely satisfying book. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Love rock star romances? Read this. Love deep stories with a lot of heart? Read this. Want a book that will leave you panting? Read this. Bottom line....READ THIS! It's that good!

As I started this book I thought it would be a nice little romance with some erotic moments thrown in. Oakley is a phone sex operator, after all. What I got was a little more intense, a little more BDSM (which is just peachy fine with me) and a few laughs.

The book opens with Oakley on one of her phone calls, baking brownies and applying all her ‘Oh, yes, baby’ comments to the chocolate, not the man on the other end of the phone. I laughed every time she rolled her eyes and wondered if men know this is all fake and just pretend it’s real for those ten or twenty minutes like the phone operators.

But Oakley has a lot going for her. She’s a loving mother of a challenged daughter. She’s working as a phone sex operator to supplement her income so that she can afford a private school for her daughter. She puts everything she has into her daughter and her career (so she can stop the phone sex gig). And she has a great sense of humor and sarcasm.

Pike is the drummer in an up and coming rock band. At his age, he should be a has-been and appearing on Where Are They Now shows, but his band is just starting to take off. And somehow, he’s normal. He’s at an age where he prefers his dog to airhead band groupies – which is probably more normal than normal by Rock God standards. Although, some would say that his sexual kinks make him anything but normal. I thought his kinks were pretty tame – a little spanking, a little bondage, a little control, nothing done in great extremes and all what I would term ‘tasteful’.

I did feel that some of the BDSM was contrived, just there to be there and not so much as pertinent to the story, but there are still some good moments. And I do like how Oakley opens up to role playing and the Dom/sub personas with a little hesitancy but a very real desire she didn’t realize she had.

If you like BDSM and erotic sex but not in an overwhelming, slam-it-in-your-face style, I think you’ll be very happy with Call on Me.

Every time I got a free moment to sit down and read Call on Me I never wanted to put it down. This is a series about a group of friends who belong to The Ranch (bdsm club). There aren't many Erotica books/authors that I read anymore. It seems the genre got very repetitive and I found my self rolling my eyes at most of the story lines. But not with Roni Loren, she writes about very relatable heroines and flawed characters that you cant help but falling for.

Oakley is a single mom who does whatever she can for her and her daughter. She has a normal job during the day, but at night she is someone totally different!

"Pike took command of the drums like he had a personal vendetta against them, banging hard and violent but with a sharp-edged grace that made it look like moving art."

"Oakley swayed on her feet, the pounding beat taking on an erotic edge, vibrating through her and invading like a drug."

Pike is a ROCK STAR! Gotta love the rock star books <3 He is the drummer in the band. Definite bad boy with all the rough edges. He was in previous books and belongs to The Ranch. Sick of superficial groupies, he meets Oakley who works for the charity he is helping out. At first sight there is INSTANT sexual chemistry, but Oakley fights it, she has too many secrets and wall built up. Pike sees that and wants to break all her walls down and get to the core of who she really is.

I loved the sexual tension, the push and pull between the two. I never once was rolling my eyes at any cliches. If you are a fan of Fifty Shades of Grey or any other erotica, then definitely give this series a go! I have read almost all of them and this one is in the top 2 favs in the series. Roni Loren is a truly talented writer who follows her own formulas and does a damn fine job of writing erotica! Ooooh weee it was HOT!

IS THIS PIKE’S BOOK IN MY HANDS?! IS IT?! IS IT?!?!?!?!

Those were my exact words as I clutched an early copy of CALL ON ME in my fingers. And then I hugged it. And I loved it. I pet it. Because it’s Roni freaking Loren. I have a serious author crush on this woman – she writes the hottest, sexiest, steamiest books ever. They have prime real-estate on my bookshelves—front and center on my adult romance shelf. So I can see them every single day.

Wait – you probably want a semblance of a review, don’t you?

OK. Let’s do this:

We first met Pike [instert: *sigh*] several books back and he and his rockstar awesomeness have toyed on the fringes of a few books but now is my boy’s time to shine. (Yes. MY boy. Stand down, Krista.)

From the second he meets the brilliant and enigmatic Oakley, he’s consumed and so am I because Oakley is just awesome. She’s a mom of this kickbutt little girl who is a talented as she is quirky and Oakley is doing everything to make sure her child wants for nothing. They have an incredible relationship and Pike never pushes his way between them. He’s like that missing piece of the family puzzle that just fits.

This book was about two grown-ups learning to compromise as they fall in love—learning how to give and take and love. It was one of the healthier relationships I’ve seen in a romance novel.

This book also gave us Devon and Hunter. Let’s all swoon together for a second, shall we?

Look, this is a 7th book in an amazing series, but you can jump in here! Loren writes these so that each book can stand up all by itself (but seriously, would you eat just 1`chocolate chip cookie at a time), but together they’re a formidable force of a series.

I have been killed yet again. Since I met Pike in Not Until You, I have been hoping that Pike would get his own book, and he finally did! It was not anything I expected, and that made it even better. I fell in love with Pike, Reagan, and Oakley - the whole crew was great.

Monty, the dog you fell in love with in Not Until You? Ya, he's back :) And even more awesome. In the first chapter, Monty plans a central role that will have you cheering for him.

Pike and Oakley have a most perfect relationship - and by that I mean, they have their ups and downs, yet they manage to work it out. They both have their shattered pasts they are overcoming, and they cope in different ways. Present day Oakley doesn't just have herself to worry about - she has to take care of her daughter, Reagan. Reagan fits into the plot so well, and she is one cool kid!

Moving forward, sparks explode between Pike and Oakley. There is some seriously steamy scenes that take up a good majority of Call on Me (say that 10 times fast). Pike and Oakley delve into BDSM, but they both really shape it into their own thing that works for them. They don't feel tied down by labels or feel the need to act a certain way.

Pike is just one humorous character all around, so I loved the lighter sense he was able to bring to the book. Balanced with Oakley's dry wit, it worked well.

Now the real issue is that I have no more story. What am I supposed to do until the next book comes out? I swear, even though her books are fairly long, Roni Loren's books will never be long enough for me. They should come equipped with a fire extinguisher and a warning sign: caution - hotness ensues inside. You will become addicted.

REVIEW:
I had high expectations for Pike's book. I loved him in a previous book and couldn't wait to get my hands on "Call On Me". Roni Loren delivered! "Call on Me" was everything I wanted it to be and more. I devoured the book and fell even more in love with Pike. "Call On Me" was fun, emotional, and scorching hot. Roni Loren's Loving on the Edge series keeps getting better and I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next. If you haven't read this series I highly recommend it for erotica lovers looking for well written erotica romances with great stories to go with the heat we look for in erotica. I always want to have a love story and happy ending when I pick up anything in the romance genre and I expect that in erotica as well. This is a great series that delivers that and I highly recommend it.

** I won an ARC in exchange for an honest review **

The naughty side of me says CoM wasn't quite as good as Nothing Between Us *insert snicker & coughing here*, but Ms. Loren once again delivers with the next installment in the LotE series.

Pike is adorable. I mean like cuddle and smooch cute. However, I didn't think of him in that way until this book. He's a hot rock star, complete with tattoos and piercings, drummer's muscles, and groupies slobbering at his feet. While he's lapped it up in the past, he's lost interest in the lifestyle, and showing Oakley he's serious about becoming a responsible, one-woman-man was a blast.

Sweetness, "AWE!!!" moments, good humor, and hot sex combines to make for a great read. Totally fulfilling in every way. Believable characters with backstories and inner turmoil - along with the external conflict - doused me, not letting me go until I finished.

I'll mention here that my kids had lousy pb&j for lunch and the laundry sat unfolded until I reached 'the end', but don't tell the hubs. ;)

If you're a lover of Ms. Loren's books already, you won't be disappointed. If, however, you've yet to read a single word from the characters chatting in her mind, do so. You can thank me later.

OMG! I love Pike! I love all the different sides to his personality. He is flirtatious, cocky, playful, sweet, vulnerable, and HOT in the bedroom! Roni has such a way of developing the characters and their relationships. I love the relationship that develops between Pike and and Oakley's daughter. Very sweet :) I love that Roni always brings characters from previous books. So you get a little bit of Colby, Keats, Kade, Tessa, Foster, Jace, etc. And of course included are my favorites, Devon and Hunter :) "Call on Me" was such a good book and a definite reread. Love this series!

This book isn't badly written. It is just not my thing. I won it in a blind giveaway. Read 50 pages then skimmed the rest. I wasn't really into the heroine's job as a phone sex operator and I really don't like romance novels that have kids. I had no problem with the hero or heroine. Just not my kinda book.
