When I came out as gay at sixteen, things got so rough I was barely making it through my days. A great therapist helped me survive, and even thrive. Now, as a newly minted psychologist, I hope to make that kind of difference for my own patients, LGBTQ or not. Inside though, I have one more secret even my therapist never knew. And finally, I've found the courage to attend pup night at Club Kink. I keep telling my clients they need to reach for what's important to their hearts. Tonight, I'm reaching for mine and hoping I find someone who wants what I have to offer.
This novel is an age-gap, opposites-attract gay romance about what happens when a man who’s given up on life is presented with a chance to start over and the younger man prepared to share that journey with him.
A Daddy for Christmas 3 is a multi-author series. Holiday tales of lost boys in need of Daddy’s love and in some cases, a firm hand. Naughty or nice, it’s all in Santa’s hands now. So why not dive in and read each standalone and enjoy the holidays alongside our boys? The characters’ theme is Grumpy and Sunshine.
Gabbi lives in beautiful British Columbia where her fur baby chin-poo keeps her safe from the nasty neighborhood squirrels. Working for the government by day, she spends her early mornings writing contemporary, gay, sweet, and dark erotic BDSM romances. While she firmly believes in happy endings, she also believes in making her characters suffer before finding their true love. She also writes m/f romances as Gabbi Black.
I have loved every single one of Gabbi’s books/audiobooks and this definitely didn’t disappoint me at all. It was very different than my style of reading. I’ve never read a daddy/puppy pairing and I found out I really liked it.
I’m a sucker for a MC getting a second chance at life and figuring themselves out. I just loved that Lorcan could finally be his true self. I’m going to say that his ex was a shady man and definitely did Lorcan wrong.
Cody… sweet Daddy Cody. I just loved the caretaking he gave to Lorcan. And man, the age gap, I was here for every moment. You don’t read a lot of age gap like this and it was beautifully written. My favorite part was when he knew Lorcan needed him the most and he sought him out.
If you’re looking for something sweet and low angst, this book is for you. I do love how we get other cameos from the other books and it makes you want to read them.
I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.
A Daddy for Christmas 3: Lorcan is part of the multi author Daddy for Christmas 3 series. Each book can be read as a standalone but why not enjoy the whole series. This is the story of Lorcan and Cody. These two meet at the Puppy Night at Club Kink where Lorcan is a new member looking into his kink. I loved this story so much because Lorcan and Cody just worked. I loved how Lorcan was seen by most everyone as just himself not his past. I loved the age difference and how it was reversed from what you would expect. This was a sweet holiday read. I would definitely recommend this book and series. received a free review copy
However, neither of the two reasons I chose this story over others were featured. Christmas was a very minor part of the story. Interactions between the MCs while role-playing as puppy and handler were minimal; however, extensive interactions before and after were nicely included and contributed to relationship building and the cozy atmosphere.

All the feels. I loved this book! It is such a nice representation of BDSM puppy play, age gap with a younger daddy, and redemption.
I also love all the teasers to other books. I don’t feel like I’m missing anything by not having read them but I’m excited to go check them out and spend more time in this world.

This is a story of two men with an age gap of 25 years, coming together through pup play and a Daddy dynamic. Lorcan has had a really tough two years, all caused by his extortionist husband, now ex, and the fallout he left behind. After being charged and tried as an accomplice, even though he knew nothing about what his husband was doing, Lorcan is newly acquitted and trying to cobble together some semblance of a life after having lost everything. After finding a place to live and a job, Lorcan goes to a kink club to check out pup play, something he has always wanted to do, but didn’t feel he could with his ex. There, he meets Cody, 25 years younger, a Daddy/pup handler, and a man intrigued by Lorcan. As the two get to know each other, Lorcan opens up to Cody, they start dating, spending off time together, and get closer. Cody encourages Lorcan in his interest in pup play, giving him something he had never had, both physically and emotionally. There is a physical attraction but things move slowly as neither is looking for permanence at this point, and both hesitate to move too fast, having been hurt in the past. The slowly developing relationship helps both learn more about each other, to learn their dreams and goals for the future, and whether or not they would be a good fit long term. As a psychologist, Cody is very aware of the scars carried by Lorcan from his ex, the trauma he encountered in the aftermath of his ex leaving, the stress of the trial , the loneliness and lack of physical connections over the last two years, and the blow to Lorcan’s sense of self-worth and his confidence, giving the support and encouragement needed for Lorcan to continue to heal to the point of being able to accept a more stable relationship. With Cody’s help, and work with a therapist, Lorcan is making progress to be more positive and look ahead to what the future could bring. As often happens, unexpected events create problems, but facing them straight on only helps their bond to grow stronger. Seeing the care and concern for Lorcan that Cody provides, how pup play adds to their dynamic as a couple, and Lorcan’s ability to be around others and accept friendship is making him a better person, it is satisfying to see him become more the confident man he used to be. Even navigating the relationship where the younger man is the more dominant one, and being secure enough in his feelings for Cody to brave PDA when they are out and about, shows the growth he is making under the loving care of this young man. Friends and characters from other books in the Mission City series flow in and out, tying the whole thing together, and building the dynamic as a part of the series. Characters are interesting and easy to relate to, and the story is realistic and easy to remain engaged in as Lorcan and Cody face their relationship and move forward with their lives as a couple. I find every story from this author in the Mission City setting to be an enjoyable read as they all weave together in some way to create a caring community of supportive friends and caring professionals, guaranteeing a satisfactory feeling at the end. I can wholeheartedly recommend any and all of the books in this series for a good read, sure to hold your attention as you share these lives for a moment in time.

Even if the book started in a way that I honestly tried to remember if there was some kind of prequel I missed - it feels a bit like getting started in the middle of the first third of a book - this was a solid read and I caught up fast.
Pup and handler/Daddy, both pretty new to it. I liked them learning together some of the things. Even if sometimes I thought perhaps it would've been better for Lorcan – the pup – if Cody had more experience. But Cody always gave it his best. He was honest about his experiences so far, understanding, always reassuring and gave Lorcan all the time he needed. He tried to boost Lorcan's confidence, told him he was never too old for trying out a kink or becoming a pup or for being with him. Age was no reason not to live the life they wanted. Aside from that he never pressured him just presented him with options. And I honestly believe this was the exact right approach for Lorcan.
Btw I especially liked the aspect that the handler was younger than the pup. Those two just klicked and fit together, no other way to describe it. And I was so there for it!
Overall Cody was very loving and caring with Lorcan and I loved that. Lorcan deserved all the love and happiness. I really felt for Lorcan and often wanted to just hug him hard. So it's clear that I was rooting for them, right?
Both characters were likeable and fleshed out well enough. I can't say if I had a favourite but if pressured I'd pick Lorcan. Simply because of his past life.
Some cameos from characters/couples from previous stories came up and I enjoyed that. Especially since Lorcan found new friends in some of them and was accepted as himself, his past or better said the accusations were not relevant for them. They only cared how he presented himself and acted.
An enjoyable, sometimes very emotional read with characters I wish I could know in real life. I really liked the story and was entertained.
even having read a readers copy this is my honestly and freely given opinion.
Lorcan had a husband and a successful business. He thought he had everything he needed until it all imploded. his husband disappeared with everything, every penny from the business, without trace. The police even considered that Lorcan may have murdered him. Being questioned over and over again, being taken to court over it all, left Lorcan with next to nothing and a ruined reputation. The only light was his excellent lawyer. A man who completely believed in him.
Broken and exhausted Lorcan might be but deciding to spend a night at Club Kink he just wants to see what happens. He isn't expecting the life-changing events that are the result.
Cody is at the Club, enjoying a relaxing evening when Lorcan is introduced to him. Cody, now qualified as a psychologist has embraced the advice he gives his patients, be yourself. He is at the Club to enjoy pup night. He certainly isn't expecting the result of the night.
Cody and Lorcan are the perfect match, at least from the readers perspective. Showing Lorcan this is a challenge for Cody but one that he is willing to take on. He sees Lorcan, truly sees him, wants to help him, guide him, share his first steps into experiencing the role of a pup. Lorcan needs to let go of his past, accept the love and care Cody shows him and build himself a new life out of it all. It will take time, it will take the care and compassion of the people around him, some of whom readers of Gabbi Grey will be familiar with.
There are gifts galore in this book and not necessarily of the type to be found under the tree. These are gifts of the heart, of the soul, hard-won but so incredibly worthwhile. Gabbi Grey explores some difficult subject matter with grace and compassion.

Lorcan, a 53-year-old man whose life was derailed by a false accusation, feels his best years are behind him until he takes a leap of faith by attending pup night at Club Kink. Cody, a young psychologist who overcame a difficult adolescence with the help of therapy, also attends pup night, carrying a secret desire he’s never shared. When their paths cross, the two men—different in age and outlook—find themselves drawn together. The story unfolds as an age-gap, opposites-attract gay romance, where Lorcan is offered a chance to rebuild his life, and Cody seeks someone willing to embrace what he has to give.
I loved this story, which explored redemption, vulnerability, courage, and the transformative power of love. I also loved that Lorcan embodies the theme of rebuilding after devastation. A false accusation shattered his life, leaving him feeling that his best years were gone. His journey reflects the universal desire for second chances and the courage it takes to reclaim dignity and hope. I also loved that Cody’s story highlighted resilience in the face of rejection and trauma. Therapy gave him tools to survive and thrive, and now he channels that healing into helping others. His secret desire shows that even healers carry hidden vulnerabilities, reminding us that growth is ongoing and imperfect. This story needed to be about how vulnerability opens the door to renewal. It showed that even when life feels broken or past its prime, courage and connection can spark transformation. The age-gap romance underscores that healing and love are not bound by time — they are bound by honesty, trust, and the willingness to reach for what matters most. This was easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like Daddy/boy dynamic with puppy play.

Story = 5 stars Narration = 5 Stars
This can be read as a standalone. I love this world that the author has created and I enjoyed all the cameos by the characters from previous books by Gabbi so it is more enjoyable knowing them all first but it isn't absolutely necessary for following this story.
I absolutely loved everything about this book and listened to it in one listen. It was a fast paced, no angst, low steam, sweet story. It didn't drag at all and felt complete. Both of the MCs were loveable characters and they had wonderful chemistry from the start. The relationship development felt realistic to me. At times I had to remind myself that only a short amount of time had passed, so in that sense it may seem rushed but it didn't at all feel like it. Both MCs have stuff from their past to deal with so they still hold stuff in and take time to fully get through their walls and insecurities making it feel like an emotional slow burn.
I also love how much PP was involved in this. A few of Gabbis past PP books were lacking alot in this but this had the perfect amount and was very playful and sweet.
The end of the book gives a glimpse at Demetrius and his brother Andre and I can't wait to read that book.
MD did a phenomenal job narrating as always. I love his voice. He kept a good pace/flow. He expressed all the emotions wonderfully and brought the story to life. He gave all the characters including the side characters their own distinct voice that suited them all perfectly. It was a pleasure to listen to.
A DADDY FOR CHRISTMAS 3: LORCAN tells the story of Lorcan and Cody. Lorcan is twice the age of Cody and has gone through the roughest of times recently with his ex-husband. He also wants to be a puppy, but is worried about his age. Cody, although young, is accomplished and knows what he wants, including Lorcan. He isn't the type of man to push someone else's recovery to his timetable though, which is probably what makes him such a good psychiatrist.
Their story is a sweet undertaking of trust and realistic optimism. Lorcan had every right to each one of his doubts, the same as Cody had every right to help with them. It was easy to forget that Lorcan was the older one, although that had nothing to do with him with immature. Also, seeing Lorcan become more than he had been, with the care and support of new friends, made it a worthwhile read. And please don't get me wrong - Cody is here too, every step of the way. It's just that with what Lorcan's going through, he needs a little more immediate help, but you know damn well that it works both ways between these two.
A nice segue at the end to lead to the next book, and also providing a HEA for Cody and Lorcan, although I certainly wouldn't be upset to see them in future books. A really good read and definitely recommended by me.

I know I’ve probably said it before but it bears repeating that Gabbi needs to continue this universe! Every one of these stories gets more and more heartwarming and beautiful.
Lorcan really went through hell with his ex. Losing everything he worked so hard for because of the person he loved most, was a really low blow.
It’s no wonder he couldn’t believe good things could happen to him when everything had been so bad for him recently. His ex not only managed to take everything financially but also emotionally. How do you get over such a blatant betrayal?
Cody could tell Lorcan needed some special TLC. Knowing what had happened to him only made Cody want to care for him even more.
Lorcan didn’t want to get his hopes up that a man half his age would want anything to do with him. He didn’t want to hope and then have it all come crashing down.
But Cody didn’t care about the age difference nor about what had happened to Lorcan. He could see how amazing he was and just wanted him to his pup.
Cody knew it would take a lot of patience and love for Lorcan to let go of his beliefs of not being good enough for him. But he was willing to wait how ever long to make sure Lorcan knew how special he was.
I honestly wish the ex suffered for what he did but I guess he got what he deserved 😂 At least Lorcan got his well deserved HEA and that’s enough for me.
Another amazing job by Michael Dean. Whenever I see his name on an audio, I just know it’s gonna be great,
Lorcan - A Daddy for Christmas 3 is part of a multi-author series that can be read as a standalone. It is the story of Lorcan and Cody, but those who are already familiar with the world of Mission City will enjoy seeing characters from the author's previous books. Lorcan is a likeable man who is going through the most difficult time of his life. This was caused by his husband, who not only destroyed Lorcan's career, but also blew up his personal life. But how can Lorcan trust anyone again? In a kink club, he meets Cody, who is half his age but understands him very well from the start and knows how to respond to him. Despite his young age, Cody knows what he wants. I found Cody very likeable and loved how caring he is. Lorcan, on the other hand, wants to finally be himself and is looking forward to Puppy night, because he could never have even brought up this topic with his ex. The story is wonderfully written, it's sweet and there's little drama. It also entertained me well.
As always, Michael Dean did a phenomenal job narrating. He has a good pace, a pleasant voice, and he reads with a lot of variety. He knows how to express all the emotions perfectly. He chose voices that suited the protagonists and brought the story to life. As always, it was a pleasure to listen to his narration.
A Daddy for Christmas 3: Lorcan is another lovely addition to this multi-author festive series, and it absolutely stands on its own. Lorcan and Cody meet at pup night in Club Kink, both hoping—quietly and a bit nervously—for a fresh start. What follows is a genuinely touching age-gap romance that balances vulnerability, gentle exploration, and a bit of Christmas warmth.
What really stood out to me was how naturally Lorcan and Cody fit together despite their differences. Lorcan’s past still weighs heavily on him, yet the story gives him space to rediscover confidence and joy without rushing the process. Cody, for his part, brings sunshine without naïveté; his training as a psychologist really shows in how he listens, supports, and encourages without overstepping.
The age dynamic is handled beautifully, too, very refreshing, actually, in the way it flips the usual expectations. Their connection feels sincere and steady rather than forced, and the kink element is woven into the story with care, curiosity, and consent at its core.
A sweet, uplifting holiday romance with just enough emotional depth to make the ending feel well earned. I’d happily recommend this one and the series, to anyone looking for comfort, warmth, and a touch of festive kink.

We meet Lorcan in court, as he’s acquitted of charges of embezzlement, some time after his ex-husband drained their business and personal accounts and absconded with the cash. Attorney Arnav Mehta sets Lorcan up with a construction job to help him get back on his feet.
Cody is attending Puppy Night at Club Kink when Lorcan comes in for the first time as a newbie with an interest in puppy kink. Lorcan is quite a bit older than Cody; and while Lorcan is interested in playing as a puppy, Cody considers himself a daddy, or handler.
While Lorcan has lost everything, Cody is living comfortably, albeit with student loans to repay. The two begin a relationship, which quickly becomes important to both of them. Cody introduces Lorcan to his circle of friends gradually, some of whom also have puppy/daddy relationships. I enjoyed this sweet holiday story, complete with adopted animals and an HEA.

It is a cute read. I loved how Lorcan and Cody are learning together. I also appreciated how Cody did not push Lorcan to heal faster, or do anything, he simply presented him with options, shared his opinion and experience, and let Lorcan choose. I really liked Lorcan, he reminded me of a fluffy teddy bear that got ripped by unkind hands, and now a new owner is loving him, stitched up and all. And it was fun to see characters from other books showing up again. I really liked how people saw Lorcan as himself, and not a guilty person who got away with murder, even though what his ex did still affects him, the people he’s surrounding himself with now see him for himself, and that was really cool to see. It’s a good story about love, acceptance in all shapes and forms, learning, and growing. I enjoyed it very much.

I always love a story that reverses what is typical in a relationship - that the age gap serves to bring a dominant younger man together with an older man who wants to embrace his submission and let go of the world he's struggling with and this is no exception...
Lorcan is such a sweet man who has so much history to overcome and deal with... and he just wants to be loved as both his human and pup self... This book combines the best of the A Daddy for Christmas esthetic with Gabbi Grey's Mission City and therapy ranch worlds. I will say that the story overtakes the holiday theme and while the pup play is a catalyst for more, they were secondary to some other storylines - and this was more emotional than some of the more fluffy seasonal reads, but none of those things are necessarily bad, just unexpected. I love the cameos from other characters in this world and the evolution of the story that makes this a very sweet HEA indeed.
I've mostly seen daddies paired with littles, but I'm discovering that I might prefer daddies paired with puppies. Though I would never turn down a lovely daddy and little story, of course.
Lorcan was completely devastated when his ex-husband stole all their money and disappeared, and it certainly did not help that the police thought Lorcan might be responsible. Luckily he had a good lawyer, who was able to show that he had no motive and had been left devastated. But after the worst of it, Lorcan moved on as best he could, including to Kink Club where he could admit his long term want to be a puppy.
Cody had a lot of issues coming out young and being tossed out by his family, except for his loving aunt. He helps Lorcan find a new path, including being the daddy to his puppy.
A wonderful and romantic story with an excellent helping of delicious spice.

ARC review. A Daddy for Christmas 3 is a multi-author series. An emotional read, but I really lovd it. Even if I was so pissed at he who should not be named long after I finished the book. And I had questions I felt unanswered even though it was not technically part of the main story. Lorcan is a sweetheart, but the last years experiences has destroyed him. Now he's just trying to survive and maybe start living again. Then he meets Cody who's come with his own part of baggage. On top of that he's also half Lorcans age. But none of that matters if you just fit. Together they find trust, safety and happiness. I loved that even if they have both been struggeling they find a way to start a new life with positivety and bright eyes This had age gap, a pup and his daddy, kink, small town and a christmas theme
I had trouble getting into this one for the first bit. I couldn't connect to the story and I'm not 100% sure why. A couple of the early chapters made me feel like I was dropped into the middle of an existing story as clearly some of the side characters have their own books, but that was more with the Cody POV chapters (I also wasn't always super fond of Cody, but I can't put my finger on why since he was never a nasty person). Lorcan's POV mostly just made me want to reach into the book and give him a hug constantly. I loved his co-workers - they were an absolute riot. I also loved how inclusive everyone around them was. It was very found family. I'm glad they got their happy ending as Lorcan more than deserved it after everything he went through.

I absolutely loved this book. Cody and Lorcan are perfect for each other, they both have a pull toward each other. Lorcan is an older man who has always been a puppy at heart but never felt safe with his husband. Then when his husband left him and took all of their money and many others to he got a divorce, but then he was accused of helping his husband steel all of the money and hide it. He was forced to sell everything and was still accused of helping to hide his now ex. He got a lawyer to help prove him not guilty and then he let himself go to a kink club where he met Cory and then he got to live a life with a forever partner and some furbabbies too. I recommend this book to everyone who loves mm romance stories that pull at your heart strings.

I enjoyed this story and mainly, the MCs. Lorcan had a complicated history and was reluctant to put himself out there again, understandably. Cody was a good match for him, having sped through his education to become a fully qualified psychologist, meaning he was more mature and understanding than many at his age. Their relationship progressed quite quickly, but I've noticed that happens with a lot of kink/BDSM stories so may be a trait of the space.
It was a very cute story with some hesitance throughout from Lorcan given his age and past but Cody saw through that and both gave each other what they needed. There were some secondary characters I guess were from previous stories which made it a little difficult to keep up at times but it didn't detract from the primary story at all.
I will admit this is only my second puppy play book but I am hooked. This one is about Lorcan and Cody, opposites, with age gap between them, but they manage to find love and fulfill their needs. I love the switch of older pup and younger dad and love the honest and realism in writing BDSM puppy play. I have not read the other books in this series, but this one has ensured I will as there were small references to them that captivated me to know more. Lots going on in this one...romance, drama, angst, puppy play...be prepared for the ride to love. These men are good along but better as a couple.
Lorcan and Cody were adorable together. They both had hard experiences and they both need healing, and together they found happiness alongside some fur babies and the ever supportive friends. It had some intense moments, as well as emotional ones when the past gave them some more blows. I loved how they found equilibrium and peace in their dynamics, how they gained confidence to bare their souls, and how they asked for help when they needed.
I really liked Lorcan and Cody's story. Poor Lorcan has been through so much the past two years. I liked that he was brave enough to start exploring his puppy side. Cody is young but isn't afraid to go after what or who he wants, and he wants to be Lorcan's handler. He's drawn to the gentle older man from their first meeting. I loved how honest and up front Cody is about everything. Lorcan is a sweetheart, you just want to hug him and tell him he's a good boy. I liked how the situation with Lorcan's ex-husband was resolved.
Lorcan by Gabbi Grey is book 3 in the Daddies for Christmas series. Poor Lorcan has had quite a rough couple of years. His ex-husband swindled a bunch of people and Lorcan was accused of being a part of it. Once he is acquitted, he struggles to regain his place in life. He decides to visit the local kink club and meets Cody, a younger Daddy/handler who offers Lorcan what he has always needed. I liked these two together quite a bit. It was low-angst and a sweet story of a man who needed someone to care for him. Very enjoyable.
A Daddy for Christmas 3 is a multi-author series. Each book can be read as a complete standalone.
The plot was intriguing and well written. World building was solid. The characters were so very perfect. Their journey to love and a HEA was incredibly special to see. All in all a great read. Highly recommend.

Thank you for the book; here is my honest opinion: This was very sweet and Lorcan and Cody are genuinely lovely and dimensional characters. Their story has loads of healing and kindness, which I appreciate. This was maybe a bit too sweet for me, and the inner voices monologues were a bit distracting. It does have excellent world building and some wonderfully supportive side characters which I enjoyed.
Love having an older main character to this story. I love all things Mission City, and although you don't need to read Gabbi Grey's other work it just adds a little. This story could be done as a standalone. But the other Daddy for Christmas stories help with the background of side characters. This was a nice story and glad I got to listen. Micheal Dean is always a great narrator, and this is just another good example.
Audiobook - excellent narration. Story - 3.5 stars. Lorcan was a somewhat older man who was the victim of an ex who left him after years and left him with nothing except legal and financial problems. He had always wanted to be a puppy but was worried that his age and history would keep potential partners away. Cody was considerably younger but very caring. Christmas and puppy play was only a very minor part of the story, which focused more on the growing relationship.
Daddy/puppy might be an aquiring taste, and it's the first time I dipped my fingers in it so I can't feedback a lot. But what I can is your writting which kept me up until 2 in the morning to finish the book. I loved the way you written this book, so fluently and and it made me want to read more and more.
