When my best friend asks me to plan his pre-wedding events, I happily say yes.

One I have to plan them with his younger brother, who I can’t stand after he hurt me in the worst way nine years ago.

Liam Scott, the infuriatingly handsome hockey pro, used to be one of my closest friends. But one night at a house party in college, I overheard him trash-talking me to his teammate behind my back.

Since then, I’ve kept my distance.

But now we’re spending all our free time planning romantic wedding events together, and he’s showing me a different side of himself.

It turns out that Liam is more than just a cocky hockey jokester. He’s caring, protective, and thoughtful.

He surprises me with home-cooked meals and my favorite takeout. He protects me from creeps and gets jealous when other guys flirt with me.

And when he tells me his biggest secret, I wonder if I’ve been wrong about him this whole time.

I told myself I’d never, ever fall for Liam Scott.

But my heart has other plans.

The sequel to Much Ado About Hating You! Liam's book!

Thank you Sarah Smith and Lovenotes PR for the eARC

This is the first book I’ve read by Sarah Smith and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Nothing On You is an enemies to lovers, hockey romance. Liam and Kendall (the MCs) were friends in college until they had a falling out and didn’t speak for 9 years. They are brought together again when they are both tasked with planning Aidan (Liam’s brother and Kendall’s best friend) and Micah’s engagement party and other pre-wedding planning.

Liam is such a golden retriever MMC with insecurities and a lot of self doubt. His growth throughout the story is incredible to see, especially seeing him be so open with Kendall. He has such a protective and caring nature and looks out for Kendall.
Kendall is caring, hardworking and has a big heart. She is a primary carer for her aunt with MS and this book did a good job in highlighting some issues that people with disabilities face.

This book was a quick and easy read. I really enjoy hockey romances and this was a wholesome read.

This book was a quick read, but it just was not for me. It was not a bad book by any means, it just really didnt keep my attention. It might have been the dialogues in the MC's heads that was super repetitive that caused me to lose interest honestly. I'm not sure how many times I can hear the MC I did like the poetry aspect of the book, but the other parts were pretty predictable, and there wasnt really any drama or suspense.. pretty standard straight forward story, I really hesitate to call it "Enemies to Lovers" cause it was just the FMC that didnt like the MC over a miscommunication that she held onto for like 10yrs instead of just talking it out.

While this wasnt my favorite read, that doesnt mean it wont be yours! If you like the below tropes, give this a try and then feel free to come back and discuss with me 😊

A cute, sweet and spicy hockey romance

Liam and Kendall would be the cutest couple if they could just find a way past their miscommunications

Liam is a sweetheart (although his constant dumb jock insecurities bothered me a bit) and Kendall felt a little immature considering her age

But reading Shakespeare's poetry and Jane Austen novels was a super fun story line I thoroughly enjoyed

🩷 Golden retriever x black cat

🏒 Forced proximity

🌶🌶🌶 and a fun quick read

Thank you to Sarah Smith and LoveNotes PR for the ARC! I was drawn to this book because we know I’m a sucker for a one bed troupe and a “touch her and die” possessive caveman, but must say this left much to be desired.

It was a little repetitive, over dramatic, and extreme at times, but then there were lines that had me laughing and kicking my feet. Ultimately, this might be a generous 3 stars for a book that included, “Excitement sparks in my tummy.” as the foreplay inner dialogue.

This was a quick and easy read. While this wasn’t my favorite book, it was still a good read. I enjoyed the dual POVs, shorter chapters and the literary aspect of the book. I did find it to be a bit repetitive and there could’ve been a bit more suspense for my liking.

Thank you to The Smuthood for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

arc review 💋

i have mixed feelings about this book.

on the one hand, the short chapters made it easier to get through; in fact, i’m about 80% sure that if they had been longer, i would’ve dnf’d it. still, i felt like there was never anything that truly hooked me into the story. in the second half of the book there is a lot of sexual content and, personally, it wasn’t something i enjoyed. it felt like those scenes took up space that could have been used to further develop the story and the characters.

what i did enjoy was their “not really a relationship” relationship. i liked Kendall and Liam’s conversations, the way they slowly started to understand each other again, and how their connection was rebuilt over time. that part was far more interesting to me than the sexual scenes.

Kendall wasn’t my favorite character. the maturity she claimed to have wasn’t reflected in her actions: she didn’t want to be alone, yet she pushed everyone away, which felt very contradictory to me.
it also didn’t make sense to me that she had spent years hating liam over something he supposedly said, only to accept his explanation almost immediately when he finally told her the truth. as readers, we know he’s telling the truth, but the character we were introduced to wouldn’t have accepted it that quickly.

Liam, on the other hand, was a character i did like. he was funny, kind, and genuinely caring. that said, i wish his insecurity had been explored more. i was expecting more than just one conversation with Kendall; it felt like that part was quickly forgotten.

as for their relationship… uff. i honestly would’ve preferred them to be apart for a while. the “he almost dies and i suddenly realize i love him” cliché just didn’t work for me.

thank you Love Notes for the copy 🧚🏻‍♀️

Nothing On You is de second book in the Scott Brothers series. The first book in the series is Much Ado About Hating You and it’s about Aiden and Micah. This book is about Liam (Aiden’s younger brother) and Kendall.
The story starts with Aiden asking Liam to be his best man and help with pre-wedding planning. Which he happily accepts, not knowing he has to work together with Kendall. Liam and Kendall used to be good friends in college, but had a falling out and haven’t seen each other for nine years.
Right from the beginning you get a sense that there is more to the story about Liam’s and Kendall’s falling out than they let on. It definitely made me curious trying to figure out what happened.
Liam is the cocky and popular pro hockey player. But pretty soon you find out there is more to him than meets the eye. He’s very thoughtful, sweet and caring. Especially for the people he cares deeply about. I felt like he was almost too perfect, but at the same time he totally made me swoon. I think that everyone deserves someone like Liam in their life. The way he is with Kendall, caring and protective, even though she can’t stand him at first.
I absolutely loved how wholesome the whole book is. Kendall is the primary caretaker for her aunt and I thought this was an amazing thing to do for a young person. Especially with a full time job. Knowing that she’s been hurt in past relationships because of this, Liam goes above and beyond to make Kendall happy. He would do anything for her. He honestly feels like the whole package. I was disappointed when I thought things might not work out between the two of them, but in the end they got a well deserved HEA. I really believe that Liam and Kendall can be considered couple goals. Even though they were enemies at first, were they really?
I give this book 5 stars. It was a fun and easy read. I loved the slow build up to the romance (and spice). I went through all the emotions in this book. Sarah Smith really delivered on a sweet and fun romance story. I know I couldn’t get enough of Liam and Kendall. I was so sad when the story ended. Overall I would definitely recommend this book.

Thank you Sarah Smith and Lovenotes.PR for the e.ARC!

First off, we haven't really been in close contact with Aiden and Liam's mom, but I love her taste in names (So props to Sarah, I'm a fan). What did I enjoy about this book? I liked the spice, it was pretty believable, and didn't seem forced. I thought the chemistry mentioned in Much Ado About Hating You was believable and transitioned well into this story. I wanted there to be more of a reason for these two to be at each other's necks than what was given. I believed their relationship. I liked that Liam was willing to improve on himself, especially when he got a clue as to his supposed sin. He was willing to read something that he wasn't comfortable with to ensure that Kendall saw that he wasn't such a jerk.

I hate giving this low of a rating to Sarah because I love her Denver Bashers series, but for some reason this series hasn't been doing it for me. There's nothing wrong with it per se, but the conversations don't sell me. It took me too long to decide that I liked Kendall, much like Micah, these ladies hold long and petty judges. Something I would expect of a 20 year old, but not of a 30 year old. I also didn't love the insecurity of Liam. I didn't like how each statement he made about himself was sandwiched inside a personal slam. For example, his speech was filled with "I bet you're surprised a dumb jock like me could write a speech".

So should you read this? Sure, it was a quick read and was harmless enough. It did it's job in keeping me engaged. I hate to say it, but this blonde man was swoon worthy. Crazy, eh?

🏒ARC Review📓🏒

A Huge thank you to Sarah Smith and The Smut Hood for this ARC of Nothing on You!

This was the PERFECT follow up story to Much ado about Hating You! (Not necessarily required to read book one first, but these two MCs revolve around the HEA from the first book) After meeting Liam in book 1 I knew that I needed more of this golden retriever, and you could tell the enemies to lovers set up was going to be with Kendall!

Kendal and Liam were everything!! From the forced proximity of them helping plan 3 major events for Aiden and Micha’s (from book 1) wedding, and not sure how they would even navigate being around each other, for long periods of time to them being nearly inseparable and sharing knowing looks.

I loved everything about Kendall and Liams story, how Kendal finally starts letting loose around Liam even though she is holding a 10 year long grudge that Liam doesn’t really understand, because she wouldn’t talk to him about it! But the bonding that ensues over BOOKS and Kendall showing Liam all her favorite books and poems. The way that this becomes the central part of the story where they meet up for book club and writing sessions so that Liam can write a serious Best Man speech and blow his brother away.

But when the speech turns into something more, meant for someone special was just BEAUTIFUL!!
Kendall had her moments too, but once she gave in and let Liam take care of her heart, it was game over for these two!!

There were so many special and protective moments throughout this book and I just want to bask in the love of these enemies turned friends with bennies to more!

This was deff a cute sports romance with some swoony moments, but it also leaned into a few tropes that personally frustrate me.

Kendall is helping plan her best friend’s pre-wedding events when she’s forced back into close proximity with his brother,Liam Scott. He’s a professional hockey player and the guy who once broke her heart. Cue enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, and unresolved tension. Butttt they used to be friends in college sooo still a friends to lovers I guess? At first, Liam comes off as dismissive and emotionally unavailable, constantly making excuses, ignoring texts, and prioritizing hockey above everything else. While that was frustrating, we do eventually learn that his obsession with the sport is rooted in his fear that he isn’t capable of being anything else.

Where this book really shines is Liam’s protective side. His “she’s my girl” energy? Absolutely fire. I also loved the way he treats Auntie! He is never minimizing her MS or making it a defining trait and how naturally caring he can be when he lets his guard down.

That said, Kendall’s tendency to run the moment things get serious was tough for me. The repeated miscommunication and emotional avoidance made me want to shake her a little. A paparazzi moment forces some truths into the open, but by the time explanations are shared, the damage is already done and Kendall pulls away out of fear.

Overall, I enjoyed the chemistry and the softer moments, but the push-and-pull got a bit tiring. If you love sports romance, protective MMCs, and second-chance vibes, this one might work really well for you even if it didn’t fully win me over I still really enjoyed it .

Ooooh this book was SO GOOD!! I absolutely loved every minute of this one!! The first one was so good, and this one absolutely lived up to the same level!! Kendall was such a sweet FMC, and seeing how hard she worked not only at her job, but also in being a caretaker, was so incredible and really showcased how strong and steadfast she was for her loved ones! She was so effortless in how she gave her love and care away, and seeing her grow and learn to accept that love and care in return was absolutely beautiful! And I loved so much how we got to see Liam learn to accept his insecurities and start the path or building new skills and knowledge to work on himself! Seeing him be so open and vulnerable with Kendall was so real and raw, it gave their relationship such a beautiful edge, and I loved getting to see the evolution that they were able to take from there! His path and growth through the book really was so wonderful to watch, and opened him up to such great potential for the future! Seeing these two come together in such fun and funny circumstances was really great, and I just adored every second of it! And all the side characters made the whole story that much better!! Overall, this one was really excellent, and I just loved it so much! 5 stars; 3.25 chili peppers

Nothing On You🧸
Firstly,I want to thank LoveNotes PR & Sarah Smith for trusting me with this ARC!
Prepare the wedding?Easy
But when Liam Scott comes into the game, things are about to get hard and... messy.

Oh.My.God.
This story was literally SO GOOD.Personally,I read on a train ride, and not only the time FLEW BY,but I was also giggling, laughing etc SO HARD!-I just hope the people behind me were not enjoying the smut scenes too!oopsies!-🫠
Now,getting into the actual story,I can honestly say was PERFECT.The plot was build step by step, and as the tension between the two main characters grew too,it was the perfect duo to begin with.Plus, you cannot go wrong with prepare the wedding trope.IT ALWAYS HITS!
Kendall, our main girl was so sunshiny &cute.Plus,I loved how passionate, caring and full of fire she was.Liam,on the other side was the classic misunderstood type of mmc and until the moment we got to finally know him,I agreed that he was a big jerk, yet when that specific time came, everyone knew that he was not only a gentleman, but also had THE BIGGEST HEART!-my favourites ? ALL the scenes with K's aunt!
To continue, their romance was FIRE!It was slow burn, filled with love and it was one of the times you could sense it has always been there, just needed the right time to blossom.AND THANK GOT IT DID,because I really believe the next marriage is theirs.
Long story short,if you want THE romance for your start of 2026 Nothing On You is for you.

**ARC REVIEW**
There’s something about romance stories where two people are forced to work together, especially when they can’t stand each other...that always pulls me in, and Nothing on You did exactly that.

Liam genuinely couldn’t remember why Kendall hated him, and when the truth finally came out… whew. I was practically yelling at the pages, begging her to just tell him already so he could finally understand. Knowing they were friends in college before everything fell apart made the hurt hit even deeper. I completely understood why Kendall carried that pain for so long.

Liam’s character really surprised me. He believes people only see him as “just a hockey player,” constantly downplaying himself, but he’s so much more than that. He’s kind, thoughtful, funny, and honestly such a lovable character. Watching him slowly realize his worth was one of my favorite parts of the story.

Their relationship development was incredibly sweet. From tension to healing to love, the growth between Kendall and Liam felt natural and earned. I truly could not put this book down. For my first read of the year, it set the bar high, and I couldn’t have asked for a better start.

From where they began to how their story ended? Chef’s kiss. 💋✨

I am happy to provide an honest review for this book. Thank you for this opportunity!

I read this book as an ARC and admittedly was a little bit unsure early on how these two would end up together. This felt like a genuine (one-sided) enemies to lovers tale.

Kendall, the strong headed FMC, doesn’t ask for, or accept, help from anyone. She and her auntie are just doing all they can to live their lives comfortably. Liam, the professional hockey playing MMC, is *cautious* around Kendall, but he never describes hate or even dislike towards her. Once the story of Kendall’s hate is explained - then later explored - a lot changes. Any person who has acted as a caregiver for a loved one will understand Kendall’s struggle and why she is so guarded. She loves hard but has been broken by lack of genuine commitment. Liam is a professional at hooking up, but emotions and commitment are severely under utilized in his dating history. How will this ever work out?

The spice is SPICING, I felt like the pacing of the story was perfect, and I would pay good money for my own Liam. 👀

Would absolutely recommend this book, especially if you enjoy explicit romance, enemies to lovers (kinda), “it was always you”, alongside hockey romance.

First Person, Dual POV

Nothing on You is a very sweet and spicy enemies to lovers hockey romance that I had a fun time reading. It was a quick read that I couldn’t put down and finished in a few hours.

My three favorite things: I loved how Liam and Kendall bond over reading and learning, the MS representation and discussions about accessibility, and the author’s approach to confronting the “dumb jock” stereotype.

Some things that I had trouble with: the whole story felt a little juvenile to me (which is totally a “me” thing.) I just think it felt like something I would’ve liked better and identified more with when I was younger.

Overall, I liked this book and it was a cute hockey romance.

Nothing on you is so much more than what meets the eye.
The story of Liam, an apparently confident hockey player, with a reputation as a prankster, class clown and the ultimate playboy and Kendall, the introvert, responsible professor who looks after her aunt and wants nothing to do with men after a few heartbreaks.
Thes two used to be friends and had crushes on each other until a misunderstanding leads to their nine-year-old distance. Now they are forced to work together while planning a wedding.
Sarah Smith tells us a beautiful story of how appearances can be deceiving and how love can overcome everything.
Liam is in fact an insecure person who deals with self-doubt, but is also very caring and protective and willing to do everything for the ones he loves. Kendall is a selfless person always willing to help her family and friends, but very guarded when it comes to her heart.
Their connection, chemistry and deep attraction is undeniable, but past insecurities will threaten what they have built.
Nothing on you is a slow burn romance with forced proximity, second chance vibes, full of banter, spice and romantic gestures that you will love from the beginning till the end.

I had a hard time connecting with this book, mainly because of how repetitive the inner dialogue was, especially from the MMC. Nearly all of his thoughts revolved around calling himself stupid or a dumb hockey player, and it quickly became annoying and pulled me out of the story.

This was a quick read and not a bad book by any means, but it just was not for me. Both main characters felt emotionally immature, and their repeated internal monologues started to feel more like a chore than character development. The miscommunication trope lasted almost the entire book, even into the final 20 percent, which was especially frustrating. I hesitate to call this true Enemies to Lovers since most of the conflict came from the FMC holding onto a decade old misunderstanding instead of communicating.

I struggled most with the FMC, whose inability to move on from past experiences made her come across as annoying, especially when Liam consistently showed he was different. Liam was very much a golden retriever character, always trying to be kind and protective, even when he went about it the wrong way.

That said, I did enjoy the poetry elements and the discussions around accessibility. The spicy scenes were well written, but I still felt disconnected because I did not like either character. Overall, this was a cute and quick romance that just did not fully work for me, though it may be a great fit for readers who enjoy heavy miscommunication and softer, straightforward romance.

Nothing on You by Sara Smith was one of those books that sneaks up on you. I went in expecting a fairly standard contemporary romance, but what I got was something more emotionally grounded and quietly impactful.

The strength of this book really lies in the characters. They feel flawed, human, and relatable in ways that make their connection believable. The chemistry isn’t over-the-top or instalove heavy, but instead builds gradually, which I appreciated. Their interactions felt natural, and the emotional beats hit at the right moments without being overly dramatic.

That said, the pacing did slow down a bit in the middle. There were a few scenes that felt repetitive, and I found myself wishing some sections were tighter. Still, the payoff toward the end made it worth pushing through, especially emotionally.

The writing style is clean and easy to sink into, making this a great comfort read if you’re in the mood for romance with heart rather than pure angst or spice overload.

Overall, Nothing on You is a solid, heartfelt romance with believable characters and emotional depth. Not perfect, but definitely memorable—and one I’d recommend to fans of character-driven love stories.

Thank you for the opportunity to read this book as an ARC.

This was not my favourite read, but I did enjoy it and read the whole book.
I was not a fan of the repetitiveness through out the book. Everything was "hot" and it was mentioned several times that Kendall, the FMC, was the caretaker for her Aunt and that her previous boyfriends were not a fan of her being a caretaker. The way she laughed so much at everything, how she thrashes around with every bedroom encounter got a bit annoying. But if that doesn't bother you, it's still a really great read.

Liam, the MMC, was depicted with insecurities about his own intelligence, which is refreshing to read about a hockey star. I loved the support he received about this from Kendall. The relationship between Liam and the Aunt was beautiful too with jokes and care.

Well done to the author for commenting on the struggles that someone in a wheelchair comes across - the falls and lack of access. I really appreciate it being written about.

Cute enemies to lovers, friends to lovers and one bed tropes.
Thank you again for giving me the opportunity to read and review your book!

What a fun Best Friends Brother romance! I loved that Kendall's best friend is a man and it's his younger brother that she ends up falling for. This book does have a small unresolved miscommunication from the past that needs to be resolved. While miscommunication is my 2nd least favorite trope, I fully understand why Kendall ran when she did.

Liam has little confidence in himself and is constantly calling himself a "dumb jock", while I don't usually like this in a character, it was nice to see it be the MMC that has confidence issues. While confident in herself, Kendall still believes Liam is out of her league because he is a professional hockey player and she is "just a normal girl with a normal job". They have great banter and rightfully so because Liam keeps shooting himself in the foot and it's Kendall that ends up with her feelings hurt. I loved how they communicated when they finally got their ish together. The 3rd act was predictable, but I loved Auntie and how she was talking with Kendall through her feelings.

Thank you, Sarah Smith and The Smuthood, for an advanced copy of this book.

Nothing on you was nothing short of adorable. I love a hockey book as everyone knows and this was a great way to start off my 2026 reads.
In this book Kendall, is asked to plan the pre-wedding events for one of her best-friends, only to find out that his brother, Liam, who she hates, will be helping. We get to follow these two as they fall head over heels and try to fight off the attraction they feel for each other. It is steamy, it's cute and it's everything I could've asked for.

Usually I dislike miscommunication tropes but I found that it worked in this book and it kept me wondering when it would be revealed. This book is everything going into 2026.

Quotes and Notes
Most of my notes I took while reading will contain spoilers so I won't be posting them, but I will show you one from Liam which we all saw coming.

This was my first book by Sarah Smith, so I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect going in. I really enjoyed the dynamic at the beginning. This very much reads as friends to strangers to enemies to lovers, and that tension was one of my favourite parts.

Kendall is such a big hearted character, dedicating her life to caring for her aunt, and Liam is much more than just a professional hockey player. I did find myself wanting a bit more angst and yearning as the story progressed. I loved the poetry being included and how that opened up a bond between the two, it would’ve been interesting to see it play out further down the storyline. While the spicy scenes were great, the emotional buildup felt a little rushed once their relationship started to develop.

Overall, a solid read with great character dynamics, even if I wished the romance had lingered a little longer on the page.

Swoon!! I had the absolute pleasure of receiving an ARC of this book and it was everything I had hoped it would be and more. I am such a sucker for sports romances, especially ice hockey, and this one did not disappoint.

Kendall and Liam are no strangers to each other. They went to college together, had secret crushes on each other, and Kendall is best friends with Liam’s brother Aiden. But one small misunderstanding junior year changes the trajectory of their relationship for the next 9 years. That is until Aiden asks Kendall and Liam to work together as a team to help plan events for his wedding.

Things started off rocky, but a tropical storm was the only thing needed for all of the tension between them to come to a head and the sparks to fly. Their chemistry was off the charts, their respect and admiration for one another was inspiring, and watching an ordinary girl get her happily ever after with the guy she’s always crushed on was so perfect.

This book was such a heartfelt and enjoyable read. Really. Kendall starts off guarded and distant, hurt by what Liam said years ago, but as they’re forced to work together planning wedding events for his brother, she slowly sees his true self: protective, thoughtful, and quietly insecure beneath his hockey-star confidence. Their slow burn romance feels natural, filled with meaningful moments, including their discussions about books and literature, especially Pride and Prejudice and how Mr. Darcy was misunderstood but proved himself through his actions. Liam was making an effort for his brother and to prove to himself and to Kendall he’s worth more than a hockey player. (he can write poetry ;) Watching them grow, understand each other, and overcome old wounds was deeply satisfying... and spicy hot. Lighthearted, romantic, and free of unnecessary drama, this story captured my heart, and I can honestly say it deserves five stars; I loved it and can’t wait to read more from this author.

Nothing On You follows Liam and Kendall on a whirlwind rollercoaster, going through all the stages of hate to love.

Liam, the star hockey player doesn’t have the best track record for relationships and has put his foot in his mouth a few too many times but he has a big heart and is willing to go the extra steps to make things right.

Kendall, while taking care of her aunt has gone through more than her fair share of heartbreak and disappointment. Her heart is guarded but she’s okay with some fun in the meantime.

I really enjoyed how the relationship progresses throughout and even with some miscommunication around Liam’s protectiveness, they are able to come together and figure things out, even if that means Auntie has to talk some major sense into Kendall.

If you’re looking for your next second chance romance with a goofy lovable younger brother and a “do-it-all-herself”, no nonsense professor, look no further!

ARC Review: Thank you Smuthood for this ARC!

sarah is a new to me author! i reaaally enjoyed this story! i am in the minority of enjoying a miscommunication trope. kendall and liam used to be close friends, but kendall overheard him talking badly about her at one of his house parties junior year of college which results in kendall distancing herself from him. then liam at his big ‘ol age continues to stick his foot in his mouth, rubbing salt in kendall’s wound. years of not knowing where he went wrong, liam is determined to mend their friendship, which leads to feelings, and lots of them.

i love kendall and liam! liam’s insecurities made my heart clench and wanting to give him a hug each time he talked down on himself. 🥺

if you enjoy:
grumpy x sunshine, forced proximity, one bed, and hockey romance then this is for yoooou!

I have been looking forward to reading this book ever since I read Much Ado about Hating You. I was curious about what had happened between Liam and Kendall at uni. And I am glad to say it didn’t disappoint.

Liam is such a cinnamon roll, trying to do his best to mend the rift with Kendall that has been going on for the past decade, even though he had no idea what started it. His insecurities about himself and his future made him extremely approachable and real as a character. And seeing him growing his confidence, thanks to Kendall’s help, was really enjoyable to read.

Kendall is wonderful caring person. She has been taking care of her disabled aunt for a long time, and while loving her, it made her difficult to keep a relationship and therefore she stopped looking for love and started doubting she could have a stable relationship.

This book made me cry at work! I thought it would be cute and fun and it was but it also made my heart ache! Our MMC is a hockey god center who feels like that’s all he has to offer. Like he thinks he’s dumb and wouldn’t have anything or anyone if he didn’t have hockey and that broke me up!! I couldn’t and still can’t get over that feeling and our FMC if smart and feisty and she really builds our man up! Encourages him to try new things, read romance and poetry and god it just made me cry for entirely different reasons. And when he opens up about not feeling like he’s smart she really lets him know that his insights into the poems and literature she’s sent him that he’s read are really insightful and she loves hearing it I WAS BALLING. I basically cried this whole book and loved every vulnerable minute of it.

Thank you to Sarah Smith and Love Notes PR for the eARC!

This was a sweet enemies to lovers story that was a quick read. The MMC was a secret cinnamon roll and really sweet, but I struggled to like the FMC and also struggled to feel convinced by their connection and relationship. I appreciated how the author highlighted the MMC's insecurities and the depth that added to his character, but often found myself frustrated over the main source of the two of them being 'enemies' and that the FMC continued to make assumptions and not let the MMC explain himself with other misunderstandings. Overall it was an enjoyable and easy read, and I appreciated the storyline with the aunt and the FMC being her caregiver.

Liam and Kendall might just be couple goals after they get past what happened to drive a wedge. I have to admit I wasn’t Kendall’s biggest fan at first. I understand their falling out left bad feelings for her, but Liam was such a golden retriever, I just felt like what happened in the past wasn’t the whole story.

Liam is so hard on himself, so I love seeing his growth when it comes to his own self love. Kendall works extremely hard and just doesn’t think it’s necessary to make herself a priority, I’m so glad she finds someone to make her do just that.

This was a cute read that you’ll like if you like golden retriever MMC/black cat FMC. Sports romance is also a big part of this book.

Thank you to @Sarah Smith and @Lovenotes PR for the early copy - all opinions are my own.
