Kit who lives with his loving father lived a good life, until he got a message that told him his father is a killer. Photos proved it.
Another message with a destination to turn to made him pack his bags and leave. His life is a big lie, he’s so angry with his father.
Derek is furious his son left him. He orders his bodyguard War to follow Kit and bring him back.
Ha! Easier said than done!
Little details: Derek is indeed a criminal boss, Kit is in love with War and it is mutual. War is an ex-SEAL with a traumatic past.
Kit ended up in a wasp nest.
Watching them was wonderful; besides the criminal elements, there was enough time for Kit and War to have private time.
There are more families involved and it was more than great to follow the situations.
Getting to know their personalities and War’s backstory was great, and following their romance was even more. You can only love them.
Overall, it was a sweet story that was quite darker at the core.

Meet Kit, Derek's son. For those of you who have read the other New Gothenburg books, you will have already met Derk and know he is not a nice guy. Except Kit doesn't know anything about his dad's criminal empire. Until a mysterious text message puts his world upside down. Suddenly, he is thrown into a world with more criminals than he knows what to do with. Worst of all, he doesn't know who he can trust any more, as it seems those closest to him have been keeping secrets all his life.
War is Derek's loyal attack dog. When Kit disappears, he is send to retrieve the kid home. Yet when they are thrown together, the lingering tension between them suddenly comes roaring back. He should leave Kit alone, but he is helpless to say no to his sweet smile and beautiful eyes.
While I enjoyed reading this book, the cameo's in this book stole the show for me. Not only do we get a glimpse of The Irish Roulette men, The Norse Lord MC, but also the Sabbatini's in St Loren. And of course Derek, who mostly features in the King's of Men MC series, but also in the His Princess series. To me, it felt like we didn't really get to connect to War and Kit, because they were almost constantly surrounded by other people, whom I found more interesting then the tentative relationship blooming between Kit and War. There also was a lack of explanation from Derek to his son. If you don't know who he is and what he does, you are still left in the dark reading this book, as there are only small hints to things he does.
I had hoped there would be more action/suspense in this book. Kit was just too innocent, doing stupid things, with War running after him, trying to fix things. The way they got together was infuriating slow, but also sweet. They really have to get to know each other. Except from a trip along different criminals and their empires, not a lot was happening. So if you like easy to read books with sweet main characters and dark themes, this book might be for you. I liked it, but I would recommend it as a companion piece to the other series of this author and co-author Ki Brightly, instead of reading it as a stand alone.

This is an offshoot story set in New Gothenburg about Kit who suddenly discovers that his father is not a regular businessman. I’m beginning to wonder if there are any men who are on the straight and narrow in this imaginary city! Lol. Sorry I couldn’t resist the joke.
Honestly I don’t think that M.D. Gregory could write a bad book even if she tried. I love how all of the NG books are intertwined and how characters from one turn up in others.
If you like reading MM books then you should be aware of these novels and if you have never heard of them then you are in for a treat and you will be in for a lovely deep dive into NG and it’s bad boys.

One day everything changes for Kit and his world is thrown in to chaos. What he learns sends him running right into danger. When War shows up Kit does not know what to do and who to trust.
I loved seeing the way Kit and War find their way. The two live completely different lives. Kit is so innocent and naive that it hurts, especially when he acts before he thinks. It was nice to see the person War is and what makes him the man he is. The two are good together and I am happy they got what they deserved. Theirs is a fast-paced story that grabbed my attention from the start and I loved seeing so many of the characters from the New Gothenburg world.

Along the way they face danger, meet up with many members of the different alliances forged over the different books, and slowly build a relationship.
Kits innocence and naivety causes much push and pull between the characters and their HEA is slow to come by.
A story with lots of cameo’s of the authors previous series, an age gap between the main characters, a story driven by family secrets and loyalty, road trips that lead to more and some action along the way.
An okay read overall.

Kit Uhlig doesn't know his Dad's a bad man who unalives people and is a crime boss. When he finds out, he runs away and his Dad sends his head of security, War, after him. Both Kit and War have crushed on each other for years but War doesn't think he's good enough. It's out of the frying pan and into the fire as these two get held by a MC, then another mob boss until Kit's Dad catches up. It's violent and spicy but Kit is really young and innocent, until he's not. I received a copy of this through BookSprout and this is my voluntary opinion.

Sweet Kit
I always enjoy M.D.’s stories and I always love how interconnected they are. Kit was just too precious! I loved his sweet innocence and how eager he was to meet Vail. I loved that little cameo from those guys. I was also kinda glad that he didn’t forgive his dad right away, that it wasn’t something so easily earned. I adored how Kit made War feel and the epilogue…so very sweet!

Chasing Kit brings us back to New Gothenburg. It’s got a grumpy/sunshine vibe, an age gap, an innocent MC, and a bit of action.
Kit is the son of Derek Uhlig, but he has no idea what his dad gets up to around town. When he gets an anonymous message spilling the tea, he hightails it out of town. Enter War, Derek’s top guy and an ex SEAL. Derek sends him to retrieve Kit, but Kit isn’t ready to just run back home. He’s got questions (and a big crush on War.) So now he has to follow Kit around and keep an eye on him.
The book read more like a short story. Lots of little blips here and there as they jump from city to city. It was great seeing the characters from other books, like the Norse Lords and Sabbatinis. I did like how this book was just one more knot in tying all the individual groups together. The connection between these two was sweet. I do believe we get to see both the characters personalities well. The spice was good. It also set up more stories, such as Sky, which I’m interested in reading.

I loved Kit and War. They both had issues thst they needed to work through. I enjoyed how they both grew as people and as a couple. This was a fun read. It was interesting seeing a different side of Derek as well. I love M.D. Gregory and can't wait for the next book.

I was pleased with how despite all the bad going on that Kit and War actually had a sweet relationship. Poor Kit wants to do the right thing, but he is young and naive and does not always make the right choices. I was so glad War was there for him. I was kind of all here for their romance, but I did absolutely love how many previous guys in this big world popped in here!!

I really enjoyed reading Chasing Kit by M.D. Gregory and has us revisiting New Gothenburg. This is a bodyguard, age gap, grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity read about War and Kit. I love reading books from this author and this one did not disappoint. I loved the storyline and all the characters, and enjoyed seeing some familiar characters.

Loved it. Loved seeing new and old faces. If you’ve read any books in the New Gothenburgverse or by the author then chances are that you’ll love this one too.

I really enjoyed this story but it definitely wasn’t a standalone. You really need to read the author’s other books to see the whole picture.

It’s great being back in the author’s New Gothenburg universe and again there is a lot of cameos in Kit and War’s story which is great.
