17 books in and this is still a great series. Lots of combat in this one lots of politics as well. The Galaxis family is starting to greatly expand its power and reach.
However, at the end of the book, we get a hint of some more politics with his father, trying to talk the Empress into marrying Alexander or he will invade her kingdom.
Personally, I find this kind of gross. Her daughter is the same age as Alexander, which means that she is old enough to be his mother.
I have no idea which direction the author is gonna go with this. I hope he doesn’t plan to wed the two. Seriously gross but we’ll have to wait and see for book at 18 and 19 which I’m looking forward to.
8/10 this was an arc copy, I sent a list back to the publisher for corrections so hopefully you have a smoother read. Enjoy the series.

Logic and continuity inconsistencies.
Fade to black plot progression, limited fight scenes... and time skipping back and forth chronology with tell instead of show in POV shifts.
Plot additions totally lacking foreshadowing... So made worse by that only making it feel all the more like lazy asspulls.
Character destruction but only the females... Made me wonder if the author/s were having woman troubles while writing this. 🤣 I'm sure a certain demographic would be throwing around the M'ist-word. 🙄
I really like the overall story but content in these serial novels fluctuate in quality a fair bit more than desirable.

I received a review copy of this book.
The Hunter's Code book 17 is the newest (as of now of course) in this series, and in this one, it looks like our main character is tired of playing around. This is when it appears he's going to get serious both with his enemies and those of the empire where he lives as well. Sure is nice to see his family growing as well, that should prove interesting in future books too. Looking forward to the next one.

Stopping at Book 17
This has been an OK series. The first few books were really good, then I think the author was thinking up the plot on the fly. They got pretty boring, I started skimming many pages. I was trying to finish the series, but it just got too juvenile over the last 3-5 books. The plot lines started to not make sense, and the descriptions of mundane events and items were taking way too many pages. Since you have to pay for this series, I am not sure if I would recommend it.

A very eventful book filled with a lot of new developments.
There are new betrayals and threats and strong hints about the real identity of mysterious drunk grandpa. Xander encounters someone from his own past and learns another secret of his adopted family. Goddard senior comes up with an intriguing demand.
Sadly, even the most important fights get more and more glossed over and feel rather trivial, which prevents me from giving a maximum rating.

Thoroughly enjoyed the latest book and the series. Eagerly looking forward to book 18. I did not want to write a review, but I could not simply post five stars. So I was forced to write something.

Continues to be a joy.
The problem with this series is once you start reading you cannot put it down. Book 17 and the storyline is getting wider by the book. Normally the series is coming to the end. In this case if it was a play I would say this is the end of scene one!

Lost 2 stars for NOT writing a Recap.
I think every reader needs to start doing this to force authors to write a quick Recap chapter, which readers can skip if they remember, and those who don't won't stop reading the series.

My only thing is I feel like he should have told the empress who is Dad is. It just complicated things for her not knowing

Love this series. All the characters are lively and fun to read the plots. Just hope harem is not that heavy

This series keeps on getting better! Seventeen books in and it still is quite enjoyable to read.
