In the coastal town of Seabrook, the tide always returns what’s been hidden.
Dr. Mara Kendrick keeps her world in order with steady hands and perfectly written reports. Sheriff Dean Keller believes he can hold the town together if he never looks back. And journalist Ivy Quinn has learned that some truths require more than proof. They require courage.
Then a body appears on the autopsy table…young, pregnant, unidentified. And the necklace around her throat is one Mara has seen before.
As the investigation unravels, old loyalties fracture, grief resurfaces, and the line between care and cruelty grows impossibly thin. In Seabrook, love leaves marks. Some are gentle. Some destroy.
Taut, atmospheric, and deeply psychological, Cold Cuts is a story of inheritance, guilt, and the quiet ways love can turn into ruin.
I received an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Read along and discover how each of the individuals plays a role in the story and what sort of connections are discovered. The ending will answer any questions you might have. It is definitely worth the read!
Is it dark and twisted just slightly will it suck you in you can count on that. JJ Jax will have you on pins and needles and chills running up and down your spine without pointing out who's the killer there's plenty of intense characters to pick from. There's a whole host of things that makes this a unique story.
I really like psychological thriller stories so this one was right up my alley. It immediately pulled me in and kept me guessing until the end. Just the way I like them.
I have read a couple of books from JJ Jax and am really enjoying them.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A slowish start, it picks up, but I found it hard to follow, too many characters, and moving on to another character had me reassessing segments to figure who was who. Plenty of bodies, that has similar clues, a serial killer is at work. A lot of twists that was hard to keep track. All in all, I struggled to the end. A to-do read.
A heart wrenching story, filled with loss, death and discovery. An easy read, which draws you into a mystery as it unravels unexpectedly. I received an ARC and my review is honest and voluntary.
