This is book number 1 of the A Billionaire for Christmas series and focuses on Dominic and Holly. Holly is an event planner who was hired to decorate Dominic's house for the holidays. Dominic is immediately entranced by Holly's appreciation for quality and craftsmanship. That appreciation quickly turns into obsession and possession. Dominic knows that Holly is his and is determined to make her his forever by Christmas. This was a great story and a great start to the series.

Reading this story felt like being launched through a pinball machine, in the best way possible. One moment I was savoring a love-at-first-sight fantasy, the next I was plunged into something shadowed and dangerous, only to be lifted again into a once-in-a-lifetime love. And the force behind all those ricochets - Dominic. Dominic Sterling begins as your quintessential ruthless, laser-focused billionaire, right up until the moment he catches his decorator—excuse me, event planner—Holly Parker stepping out of the room that holds his most prized treasures. Yet, instead of being dazzled by their monetary value, Holly is entranced by their history and craftsmanship. And Dominic, in turn, is utterly entranced by her. Dominic radiates intensity—honestly, “intense” feels like a polite understatement. He’s magnetic, overwhelming, the kind of man whose presence you feel before he even speaks. Holly should probably have been terrified, yet what rises in her instead is “…a desire to be claimed, to belong to someone in this primal, undeniable way.” I couldn’t have agreed more. The chemistry between them is blistering. So hot you practically forget to breathe. But then the tone shifts. The question becomes: when does passion slip into possession? When does devotion curdle into control? Dominic’s need for every ounce of Holly’s attention begins to feel smothering, obsessive. His attempts to isolate her from her friends and that childish threat to take another woman out when she doesn’t fall in line, push the relationship into troubling territory. It starts to feel less like love and more like ownership. Fortunately, Holly is a strong, grounded FMC who absolutely refuses to be consumed by Dominic’s domineering energy. She pushes back, calls him out, and forces him to open up in ways he probably never has. Watching Dominic grow, learning to trust Holly and transform his obsession into something nurturing and intentional, was one of my favorite parts of the book. He doesn’t lose his dominance, but it becomes anchored in genuine connection rather than possessiveness. I do have a few quibbles though: certain phrases and gestures (if Dominic tucked her hair behind her ear one more time…) were repeated so often they lost their charm. And the run-ins with the contractor (Brian? Ryan?) and the lighting guy (Mike? Mark?) were virtually interchangeable. Though I understood they served the purpose of highlighting Dominic’s possessiveness and jealousy, the second time simply felt redundant. Still, those small annoyances aside, I genuinely loved this steamy, dark-tinged romance. Dominic’s evolution, from a man who hoards treasures to one who cherishes Holly for exactly who she is, was deeply satisfying and made the emotional payoff that much sweeter.

His for Christmas: A Billionaire Holiday Romance by Emma Bray is a spicy, emotionally-charged holiday love story that hits the right mix of heat and heart. Holly Parker, sweet and shy, unexpectedly finds herself decorating Dominic Sterling’s mansion for Christmas. But in doing so, she also awakens something possessive and controlling deep inside him—and not in a Hallmark way.
I really appreciated how Dominic’s attraction to Holly isn’t just skin deep. He’s drawn to her personality, her kindness, and what she loves—not just her looks. That makes his obsession feel more grounded (even if, yes, it’s a dangerous obsession). That said, his possessiveness sometimes tips into “too much,” which had me a little tense—but the emotional stakes make that kind of thrilling.
Holly is a strong heroine who doesn’t just melt under Dominic’s intensity. She challenges him, insists on honest communication, and pushes him to grow. Their journey to becoming a real couple—with trust and vulnerability—is satisfying. The secret-obsession trope isn’t new, but Bray gives it fresh life with real emotional conflict and genuine character evolution.
In terms of writing style, this is very much Emma Bray's signature romance. She writes intense, steamy romances with possessive alpha males who’ll stop at nothing to claim the women they want. Her stories are often fast-paced, emotionally rich, and full of desire and yearning. That energy is on full display here.
Verdict: If you’re in the mood for a short, spicy Christmas romance with a dominant CEO, honest growth, and plenty of holiday heat, His for Christmas is a solid pick. It’s not perfect, but it delivers enough chemistry and emotional payoff to make it very binge-worthy.

He doesn’t share. He claims. And this Christmas, he’s claiming her.

Holly thought she was just decorating a billionaire’s mansion. She didn’t expect Dominic, sharp suit, colder stare, and a locked room full of secrets. One wrong turn and everything shifts. He doesn’t just notice her. He fixates.

Dominic didn’t plan to fall. But once Holly steps into his world, he can’t look away. He watches, rearranges, and starts making space in the places he swore were off limits. She stirs up chaos in the life he’s built on control.

She’s drawn in but afraid of losing herself. He’s ready to give her everything if she’ll stay. But love needs more than obsession. Trust has to grow, and walls have to fall. Not everything they built will survive the shift.

Dominic and Holly both grow in ways they never saw coming. He learns to soften without losing strength. She learns she doesn’t have to run to stay whole. Their love isn’t easy, but it’s worth the fight. What starts as power and possession becomes choice and connection.

A dark, steamy, instalove, opposites attract, billionaire Christmas romance with obsession, jealousy, dominance, and emotional intensity. It explores control, trust, power dynamics, healing, independence, and what it really means to be chosen. It’s about a man who’s never let anyone in, a woman who won’t disappear for anyone, and the love that remakes them both.

The Elevator Pitch: A brooding billionaire is instantly obsessed with the woman who steps too close to his secrets. Their heat is electric, their connection impossible to ignore, and his need to claim her threatens to consume them both. It's a steamy, high-stakes holiday romance where passion burns hot, trust is hard won, and love rewrites every rule.

His for Christmas is the perfect quick read when you want something fun, bold, and unapologetically over-the-top. Emma Bray leans fully into the holiday fantasy vibes—sparkling decorations, a billionaire hero with a brooding edge, and a heroine whose sweetness shines brighter than any string of lights.

Holly is instantly lovable: shy, kind, and just trying to do her job decorating a mansion that feels more like a fairytale set than a workplace. When she crosses paths with Dominic Sterling, the dynamic changes in a heartbeat. Dominic is intense, commanding, and fiercely protective the moment he realizes he wants her—even if he’s not entirely sure what to do with those feelings.

What makes this story work so well is how their connection balances softness and tension. Holly brings out a gentler side of Dominic, and Dominic brings Holly into a world where someone finally sees her as extraordinary. Their chemistry pops right from their first mistletoe moment, and the pacing keeps the story moving quickly without losing emotion.

This novella embraces every classic holiday romance element—cozy settings, instant attraction, a touch of danger wrapped in devotion—and blends it into a fast, satisfying, one-sitting read. It’s playful, wintry, and just dramatic enough to feel like a guilty pleasure without ever becoming too heavy.

If you enjoy protective heroes, sweet heroines, and Christmas romances that feel like stepping straight into a glittering snow globe of desire and devotion, His for Christmas is a delightful holiday treat.

An outstanding novella that brings two people that are different together in time for Christmas. The man is all business who thinks everything is a possession and deals everything in his life like he does in business. The woman is carefree and independent, she tries to keep her business life and her personal life separate.
The man hires the woman for a job and from their first meeting there’s something between them that neither can explain. At the beginning the man does everything to get close to her, he wants to possess her but she keeps their interactions professional. The two let their professionalism slide when their feelings become clear to one another but the woman is at the beginning she has no clue about his possessive tendencies.
The woman finds out about the man’s possessiveness and they start growing apart which scares the man. For a while there’s conflict between the two but the man is determined to change after the two have a brief discussion.
The man sets out to prove to the woman as well as himself that he can change. At the end they both confess that they love one another and they want to be with one another.
The couple is in love and happy about their relationship that they have started together.

This is book one in the author’s new A Billionaire for Christmas series. Although it was probably a novel length book instead of her usual super short reads, it wasn’t one of my favorites.

Dominic, the MMC, really put me off, being all manipulative-y and controlling like he was. I had more than a few choice words to say about him as I read but I have to admit, although he’ll never be one of my favorite MMCs, he did finally redeem himself.

Holly, our FMC, the decorator for the big Christmas party to be held at his home (the party that was the overwhelming main topic of the whole book that we never saw occur…the book just skipped right over it 🙄) was my favorite MC in this one. She had a strong sense of self confidence and I liked that she stood up to him and didn’t allow Dominic to control her…which, to his credit, he did make an effort to change.

If MMCs who experience a redemption arc is something you enjoy, I think you’ll probably love this one; they’re just so-so to me though and he turned me off so I wasn’t all that invested in it. I am looking forward to the next book in the series but for this one, 4 stars.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ His for Christmas by Emma Bray is everything I want in a short and steamy holiday romance!

This book absolutely delivered. Holly is the perfect sweet and shy heroine, and watching her get swept up into Dominic’s intense, obsessive world was so addictive. The chemistry is instant, sizzling, and doesn’t let up for a second. Dominic is the kind of over-the-top possessive billionaire who doesn’t just want the girl—he wants to protect her, claim her, and make her his forever. Their kiss under the mistletoe had me hooked, and the story only gets hotter from there.

What I loved most was how fast this story pulled me in. The pacing is tight, the tension is high, and the author makes every moment count. For such a short read, it delivers all the holiday magic, spice, and obsession I was looking for.

It’s a perfect one-sitting Christmas romance—quick, sexy, and totally addictive. If you love powerful heroes, instant possession, and holiday heat, this is a must-read. I’ll definitely be picking up more from Emma Bray!.

Short but addictive so hang on you won’t put it down until the last page has been turned. Holly is sweet being in social environments is a little uncomfortable due to her shyness but finds herself in charge of decorating a billionaire’s mansion for the holiday, something she loves but so unexpectedly, and with so much attention from the billionaire himself can be so overwhelming. Dominic sexy as all get out billionaire seen mostly for his net worth especially women he is looking for that special something doubtful he will find it or he was until he bumped in his new decorator who is shy but kind to everyone and the moment he meets her he knew she was the one for him not to convince his girl. His attention to detail well details about her well he remembered everything about her, the magnetic pull is there from the beginning but his obsession may be getting in the way but she challenges him at every turn, demands total honesty, communication, will he rise to the challenge for her, and can they find happiness somewhere along the way?

Holly Parker is an event planner who is hired to decorate Dominic Sterling's mansion. When Dominic witnesses Holly admiring his private collection, she awakens something dangerous, controlling, possessive, and irresistible in him. Dominic knows Holly is his and plans to make her his by Christmas. Will Holly submit to Dominic's possession? Will Holly push for equal footing in her relationship with Dominic? Can Dominic pull back on his possessive tendencies to be the man Holly needs him to be? Will Holly understand Dominic's possessive tendencies better when he explains his past to her? I enjoyed His for Christmas: A Billionaire Holiday Romance by Emma Bray. Dominic and Holly are a great couple with scorching hot chemistry. I loved how Dominic helped Holly grow in confidence and her ability. I loved how Dominic could trust Holly with his vulnerability. Warming up by MeemsAngel82

This was a steamy read just in time for my favorite time of year. The writing is great and I love that these two meet at the most magical time of the year. She is a new hire for his home, someone who will transform it into something he likes. He is a mystery at first, someone who seems closed off but knows what he wants.

She is intrigued by the man who has some precious items.

And he would like her to stay. And what he wants, he gets. He is controlling and wants her all to himself and I absolutely do love him being jealous over her. He is intense and the whole story is mysterious and wraps you up. It's literally like they are the only two people in the world and it's a romantic dance that they do. A haunting romance in time for the holidays.

Billionaire Romance.
Holly is a young woman who has come to discover a millionaire's mansion for the Christmas holidays. While taking measurements, she encounters the magnificent Dominic, the complete opposite of the old man she had imagined. And as she is forced to see him every day, she realizes that he is far from the image everyone has of him.
Dominic is a wealthy, solitary, and grumpy businessman. But when the beautiful Holly comes to his home to decorate his mansion, everything changes. She sees him and understands him like no one else. He knows then that before Christmas, she will be his.
Will Holly and Dominic have a beautiful love story, or will their different backgrounds drive Holly away….

Christmas Possession

His for Christmas is the first book in A Billionaire for Christmas series. This is a longer book than I have previously read by Emma Bray and I think she wrote a wonderful and entertaining story. It is about Holly Parker and Dominic Sterling, she is an event planner and he is a possessive and grumpy billionaire. Holly was hired to decorate Dominic's mansion and while there she takes a moment to admire his private art collection. Dominic sees her looking at his art and there is something about her that he wants to possess immediately. But will Holly want to be possessed or will Dominic need to change his tact? This is an entertaining story with a bit of a Beauty and the Beast vibe, wrapped up in a Christmas romance.

The man in this book, and I use ‘’man” loosely, is disgusting. You’re a BILLIONAIRE and try to make the woman u just slept with jealous by insinuating you may sleep with another woman you have a meeting with the next night who is your colleague that you find beautiful and intelligent unless the MFC tells you not to. I just couldn’t finish this story. That’s insane hahaha. I usually like Emma Bray books but I can’t take a MMC who is a loser and a weak woman who settles for him. HARD Pass on this one.

Also why does the author have to reference how many times the MMC thinks about it his past sexual partners. Again it’s just loser vibes lol. Like a guy who grew up ugly and got hot as he got older so he became an asshole. This story was down right annoying.

Event planner decorator extraordinaire meets billionaire and yes they go there under the mistletoe and now he’s more than Ho Ho Ho merry ,he’s gone gaga ,all unnecessary for her and he’s not caring one jot for others sharing what he’s now got. She’s his . He wants her for his very own collection when she stumbles upon his private collection whilst dressing his mansion. No expansion needs because were the danger signs heeded by Holly?Of course not she’s fallen for his charms and into his arms but is it a merry Christmas present and a hot new year or does he touch her into gear or get rid of her and her gear in the New Year ? Yule ( yup I went there) have to read and see . I think this book is ecstasy ,I’m sure you will too.

This is the first book in A Billionaire for Christmas series. A Christmas story with a billionaire and an event planner. Dominic is wealthy dated before women but never wanted a relationship with anyone until he meets Holly his new event planner. Holly is professional and lives for her business never crossing a professional line. I liked Holly"s character. She was smart, sweet, and treated everyone respectfully. Dominic took more time for his character to grow on me. At first he was domineering and manipulative. As the story progressed Dominic became a more likeable character.

“His for Christmas” by Emma Bray

-A fast, spicy holiday romance where Holly’s warmth meets Dominic’s possessive, emotionally guarded intensity. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.

Their clash of strength and vulnerability gives the story its spark, especially as he learns how to love without control. The attraction feels rooted in who Holly is, not just how she looks, which makes their connection more believable.

Quick, dramatic, steamy, and ultimately satisfying—a festive read with real character growth.

Beautiful, impressive mansion, with and without decorations, I imagine.
I like sweet, special surprises, moments.
Starts an intense, passionate relationship between Holly and Dominic. It's something new for both of them: what they feel, being honest, true to themselves, learning, appreciating attention to detail, trusting, accepting each other's personalities, including self-preservation, and combining the physical with the emotional, balancing for a lasting, loving relationship.

Absolutely beautiful written Christmas read!

Dominic (MMC) is our gorgeous (somewhat emotionally stunted) possessive billionaire who hires Holly (MFC) to decorate his estate for the holiday season. Holly's strength is something Dominic struggles with initially, almost causing a 3rd act breakup, however communication and self growth prevail, leaving us celebrating an enchanting Christmas.

This was a good spicey, sometimes emotionally intense read. Dominic has some underlying issues with possession. It's hot but also borderline too much at points. I really like how his initial attraction to Holly stems from her as a person and interests as apposed to just her looks. Its a good read.
