FIRST YOUR FRIENDS. THEN YOUR FAMILY. THEN YOU. The next epic SPIDER-MAN and VENOM crossover starts here and continues through April! A new super-powered serial killer is on the loose and they're coming for Spidey, Venom and everyone in between. But what terrible secret has CARNAGE learned, and what does it have to do with Spider-Man?!

I liked the way all 3 perspectives were represented, and I was really intrigued by the deaths at the bottom of each page. With as much as Spidey and Venom’s ongoing series were referenced, I wish we got a mention of the New Avengers from Carnage, but that series wasn’t written by Soule so I guess I’ll let that slide.
Great beginning to the story. You have four different factions coming together, each with its own agenda. Peter doesn't know MJ is Venom. Neither knows Carnage is with Eddie, and Spiral will connect them all.
A good start with an interesting premise. Once the flow of the issue hit I was really enjoying seeing the deaths and their connections. I am intrigued to see how this villain plays out. Art is great!
3.7. This is my review for all 9 issues of the event. I liked the event overall. Torment is a a good villain. The art was good to great throughout the 9-issues and different titles. The writing was also pretty good. I think this is worth a read and a pretty good spider-man event.
It's truly impressive how much dread this single issue managed to arise within me. I am so sold on Torment, him being a killer who circles his way through family ties before eventually reaching his mark is very interesting and horrifying, and definitely feels like Soule repurposing a great idea from the end of his Star Wars run. This story has quite a way to go, but as far as openings go, this nails it.
