FRIENDS, LOVERS OR NOTHING! IRON MAN is on the hunt for the missing captives as MADAME MASQUE continues to twist the knife in Tony's back! Could Tony really be at fault for what's happening? The past collides with the present as JOSHUA WILLIAMSON & CARMEN CARNERO continue to pave the future for IRON MAN! STEVE ROGERS, CAPTAIN AMERICA, throws his mighty shield! But is it WITH Iron Man or AGAINST?
This issue set up a good foundation for what’s to come. I didn’t expect to see MODOK, and I liked Steve’s interaction with Tony at the beginning. Fun issue!
I’m digging Williamson’s voice of Tony, he’s not overly sarcastic nor is he overly egotistical, just feels easy to slip into his character this time around which is cool because I typically havnt been a fan of iron man in the past due to being portrayed as either being too self assured or more serious than I envision the character. Tony cracks jokes here but he also knows how to get straight to business.
Also the pace remains good, the reader is brought up to speed on what’s taken place and who people are without the story getting bogged down. It feels welcoming to someone like me who hasn’t kept up with iron man stories in the past while still managing to be entertaining.
Overall, having a good time. Looking forward to the next issue!
Another solid issue. This is doing a good job capturing all of what makes Stark fun. We get action, flirting, smart assery, and seriousness. The twists keep coming too. The end of that issue, I did not see coming.
