EXCELLENT! Replace your Teachers College Writing Workshop with this and you'll get results. Train your teachers in this method of teaching your kids to write! I have used this and been to a workshop by the author, it's well designed, easy to follow and logical.

I appreciate the practicality of Hochman's strategies, but they seemed very isolated. The book, however, did prompt some important philosophical and pedagogical thinking on grammar instruction.
