Repossessed... Kendall Haven's life turns upside down when she's kidnapped off her fueling dock home by thugs claiming to have the right. Her father, the gambler, used her to cover his losses at the Larceny Casino Ship. Drugged and treated like cargo, she's sold to the highest bidder - Galaxy Brides Corporation. Landing on a primitive planet on the far edge of the universe, she has no intention of fulfilling her father's contract - even if that contract includes marriage to a very handsome, very sexy, very intense barbarian of a man. He might be everything a woman fantasizes about, but he wants a little more than she can give. Possession... Lord Alek, Younger Duke of Draig, has not been lucky in finding his life mate. Resigned to a lonely life, he attends the bridal ceremony out of familial duty. Then the impossible happens - Kendall. Nothing goes according to tradition, but he can't let that dissuade him. She is his only chance at happiness, and no matter how she protests, he's not going to let her get away. Warning: The book contains a hard-headed sexy alpha male who will win his chosen woman at any cost and an even harder-headed woman who won't make his task easy.

I enjoyed reading this very unique, fascinating dragon shifter romance & this book can easily stand on its own although it does basically run concurrently with the other books in this series & covers different couples in each of them. The plot has a bit of a emotional undertone that reflect throughout the storyline & there is well-described, intriguing situations and/or events. The characters have interesting personalities that continue to develop throughout the storyline. It is about: a young woman (Kendall Haven) studying to become a station engineer, is used by her despicable father (Haven) to cover his gambling debts & she is later sold to the “Galaxy Brides Corporation”. Kendall finds herself on a barbarian planet (Qurilixian) where she tries to escape & is helped by a dragon shifter (a Duke, Lord Aleksej aka Alek) naturally things don’t go according to her plans when Alek chooses her for his bride. There is: family issues, a bridal ceremony, Draigs (dragon shifters), Vars (cat shifters), devious aliens (Tyoe), fated mates, adventure, action, intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, drama, family betrayal, secrets, mystery, threats, danger, devious intentions, abduction, manipulations, escape, vulnerability, fear, unexpected help, complications, distrust, disagreements, defiance, confusion, communication issues, worry, desperation, emotional turmoil, determination, contentment, some steamy scenes & a satisfying conclusion for this couple with a interesting ending. I look forward to the next book in this series with great anticipation & would recommend this book.
This is the sixth book in the dragon lord series and Kendall and Alexs story. It was a well written with a wonderful plot in the Qurilixen World that grab me from the beginning and kept me reading for the entire story. There’s action drama danger twists and turns kidnappings intrigue romance and love. The characters had a good chemistry in their interactions keep me interested.

The Stubborn Lord is Book 6 in the wonderful Dragon Lords Series by Michelle Pillow. This book focuses on Kendall and Alex, Kendall been repossessed and sold to Galaxy Brides due to her father's gambling debts, and Alex being the second youngest Royal cousin (His older brother the Duke). I like the storylines that involve the four cousins, an underlying subplot that threatens the entire planet of a hostile takeover for their mines, runs throughout the books and adds lots of intrigue and excitement to the romances. Alex finds Kendall in the forest, she has run away from the Breeding festival and immediately his crystal grows. He brings her back to his tent and vows to protect her from the men who had repossessed her. Like in the Duke's story, the wedding night does not go as planned and Alex fears punishment from the Gods. Kendall having grown up on a fueling station does not totally believe in any deities much less fated mating. I did miss the Galaxy Brides parade during the festival and more of the women's interactions during the celebratory dinner, I always found that part of this series fun, but this story was still a great addition to the series. Kendall is a bright smart loyal heroine, she has been finishing a degree and raising her younger sister. Her frantic attempts to get back home are not based on rejecting Alex or his planet but to save her sister from her father losing her in a gambling dept as well. Time passes differently depending which part of the Galaxy you are in. Kendall somehow doesn't find a conversion chart to find out how many years have passed for her sister which really would have been helpful. Alex doesn't totally understand Kendall's resistance to their marriage so their miscommunications lead to many complications. Including his wondering if she may be a spy. I did love the part of the story when they do finally clear things up and reveal their pasts and secrets. Alex is truly stubborn and a bit closed off. He and his brother Bron seem to be much more chauvinistic and male superiority types than their royal cousins, the princes. Still he is a handsome alpha warrior and the chemistry between Alex and Kendall is hot and romantic. They are a well matched couple. Besides the hot romance there is lots of excitement and adventure. Intertwining of this storyline with the previous book makes this part of the series more substantial. The phenomenal world building continues to expand drawing the reader further into this amazing series. The books should be read in order, there are many storylines and characters that build upon each other as the books progress. This series is awesome so starting from book one is the best way to treat yourself to an amazing reading experience.
Fate indeed had strange plans for Kendal Haven, daughter of a drunken gambler she finds herself “repossessed” to pay for his gambling debts. Locked in stasis, she has lost all sense of time and place until she wakes up on the Galaxy Brides ship headed for Quilixen. Alek, second Duke of Draig is attending his fifth Breeding Festival but has given up all hope of finding his mate, what he finds is Kendall trying to hide in the forest and takes her back to his tent because he is afraid to have her go through the receiving line and lose her now that his crystal glows. He returns to her after the procession and ends up rescuing her from being repossessed again. They have incredible chemistry, perhaps too good, and they break tradition by exploring each other a little too much! But even with that she insists she cannot stay and asks help to find transport off the planet, he makes her a deal; finish the ceremony and become his wife and he’ll find her transport to her home. Unfortunately he fails to explain what it means for him to marry him and leave, he also fails to explain how he feels for her. Of course she is not much better with the explanations, only stating she has to leave never why she needs to leave; to save her sister from being given as payment for gambling debts as she was. Just on the brink of losing her, all the miscommunication and misunderstandings unravel as they finally learn to talk and realize they cannot leave each other, so he promises her to do whatever it takes to find Margot even if it means leaving his beloved home, as long as he has Kendall. I love Alek! He is such an alpha male it is almost funny how clueless he is dealing with Kendall!
The Dragon Lords series of books is one of my favorites and I was really excited to read this latest installment. This one is quite good, sometimes the heroine is not the most likeable of characters, but as a reader I did understand her motivation. Kendall works on a fueling dock and tries to keep her family together and afloat and watch out for her younger sister. This is hard because her father gambles. Her father actually gambles her away when he gets to the point that he can’t cover his losses. Kendall is bought by Galaxy Brides and Alek’s crystal glows when they meet. Alek is pretty hot and he really wants his marriage to Kendall to work. Alek was dreading going to the ceremony again and he feels so blessed that the gods have finally gifted him with a wife. Alek is a really good hero; he is willing to give up what he wants in order for Kendall to be happy. Kendall comes off kind of hard, but she has no idea what happened to her sister after she was taken. She cares less about her father, but she is still worried. For her, the worst part is she doesn’t know how long she has been gone, she was in cryogenic sleep and she has no idea if it was for a few months or any number of years. She is really worried about her sister and will do almost anything to find out how she is doing. Will Kendall be able to find her sister? Will Alek convince her to stay with him and be his wife? I really liked Kendall and Alek together and the sex scenes in this book were really hot and steamy.
Kendall had been studying to be a station engineer. Now she has been repossessed and sold due to her father's gambling debts. Who knew people could actually be repossessed!!! She awakes occasionally from the stasis she was placed in and finally awakes on the Galaxy Brides ship.
Alex has attended the breeding festival for 5 years now and still has not found his bride. He leaves the festival and finds Kendall in the forest, who had run away from the Breeding festival and his crystal grows. He vows to protect her from the men who sold her. He ensures her that if they marry he will get her to safety.
There was little interaction with the other brides on the ship in this book, possibly due to Kendalls stay in stasis. Kendall is very smart and capable. Her frantic attempts to get back home are to find and help her sister, not a rejection of Alex or his planet as in some of the other stories. Alex understands Kendall's resistance to their marriage so complications ensue.
Alex is stubborn and a closed-off. He and Bron do come over as very chauvinistic and misogynistic than their royal cousins. There is still lots of adventure and romance. When Kendall discovers just how much time has passed, it is truly heartbreaking. But it is good to know that Margot has her own story!
I read this book in a day. It follows along in the Dragon Lords series, this set of four features the King's nephews. This one centers on Lord Aleksej and Kendall Haven. There were several things I liked about this book (and this series). First, the women in this series are smart, and aren't needy or clingy or make dumb decisions. Kendall works at her father's space fueling station and is basically the one holding it together as her father is an alcoholic and gambler. She's studying for an advanced degree in 'Fuelology', and takes care of her half-sister Margot, to boot. She is taken unwillingly from her home by men who come to collect her as part of her fathers gambling debt, held in stasis for who knows how long, and eventually sold to Galaxy Brides. Second, there is always a strong theme of family loyalty and love in the books, this one is no exception, and finally, the stories are engaging, this one in particular has a good bit of mystery. If you like steamy, fast-paced fantasy with some intriguing twists and well-done characters, you'll like this book!
Sweet and steamy! Enjoy the alien world setting! In this book, Kendall’s father owes a lot of money, so he sells Kendall into slavery. Luckily for her, she ends up as part of the parade of possible brides for an alien race and the alien that ends up choosing her, Alek, is a good guy alien. Unfortunately, Kendall is adamant that she needs to return back home because she wants to be there for her young sister. It’s understandable that she wants to be there for her sister, but it’s really annoying that Kendall was still willing to be friendly with her dad; the idiot sold you into slavery for goodness sake. Despite her one track mind to go home, I did like Kendall. Alek is likable as well, and they do have some good chemistry. These stories sort of intertwine with the characters and storylines, so you may want to read the previous books, but this worked fine as a standalone too. Overall, an entertaining alien romance with some steam!
I loved Lord Alek. He reminded me of an old country gentlemen that wanted the kind of selfless love he wanted to give. He loved Kendall so much he is ready to follow her and leave his life and world behind. True Love is giving without expecting anything in return and this is how he loves. This story not just passionate and sexy, but full of romance!
Love the whole dragon lord series! You can not go wrong with these books I promise. Imagine being taken away from everything you have known and brought to a world that is full of hot barbarian men who just happen to shift into dragons!! When they mate it's for life and you are their world.
After the last one in the series was a bit disappointing , this one is great as the the books before. I like MMP's books and I am looking forward to the next in this series.
The Stubborn Lord is the sixth book in Pillow’s Dragon Lords series, and is the second book in the royal cousins/nephews arc of the series. It’s the story of Kendall and Alek, and it’s a rough one indeed. Kendall ends up on Qurilixen because her father loses her over a gambling debt. She’s confused, upset, and has a burning need to get back home and rescue her little sister. Alek, who has been waiting for years for his mate to show up, is ecstatic of course, but like older brother Bron’s ceremony, Alek’s night doesn’t go in the traditional manner. Because of mistakes he makes, Alek understands immediately that he needs to get Kendall where she has to go. This is the first time readers really see the more futuristic aspects of the Qurilixen Worlds and the universe around them, and that’s a fun adventure. Like so many of the Dragon Lords, Alek faces the knowledge that losing Kendall will leave him alone for the rest of his life – something his bride doesn’t quite understand.
The Stubborn Lord is an intriguing twist to the series with new attitudes and settings, though there is some repetition of the events of the previous book, featuring Alek’s brother Bron and his bride. The repeated events do seem to stretch out a bit, but I don’t know that they’d be at all bothersome unless the reader were binging the series, where it probably stands out more. I really liked Alek’s refreshing determination and his adaptability to meet his mate’s needs, and felt for Kendall, whose situation is painful for her and for the reader. Pillow does a good job working from what could be a very problematic start to her time on Qurilixen, giving her a lot of agency throughout the story. I also very much enjoyed the time Alek spends with his brothers. The overarching issues introduced in book 5 are developed further in this installment of the series, and though this book ends with some questions, it also introduces some new characters and ideas that this reader, for one, is eager to see developed throughout the various other Qurilixen Worlds stories. I very much enjoyed this Dragon Lords installment, and am looking forward to book 7 in the series!

Lord Aleksej, the younger Duke of Draig is preparing for his fifth try at the Bridal Ceremony. He doesn’t even want to go, but he is honor bound to attend to support the other males.
Kendall Haven has been “repossessed” by a casino to pay her father’s gambling debt. They put her in stasis and she wakes up on the Galaxy Brides ship on her way to Qurilixen. She has no idea how long she was in stasis or anything that has happened to her during that time. Her only concern is to get home and rescue her younger sister before her father gambles her away too. Once they land she sneaks off the ship and runs into the forest, hoping to find a way back home. Alek is going through the forest and his crystal starts glowing indicating that his mate is near. He finds her easily and agrees to hide her in his tent during the ceremony. They spend the night in his tent and in the morning he tells her they are married according to Draig law. She is drawn to him, but is frantic to rescue her sister. He agrees to help her if she acts like they are married in order to save his family’s honor. She agrees and he starts to take her home, planning on taking his time hoping she will change her mind. The journey is cut short when they have to rescue his brother Bron who had been attacked and left to die in an old mine shaft. They now know that something in going on and must figure it out. Bron’s wife tells them the Tyoe are planning to kill them all off in order to take over their mines. Bron goes to the palace to see the King and Alek must return home immediately to get help from his brother Mirek who is their ambassador and in charge of their fleet of spaceships. Merik agrees to get Kendall home on the condition that Alek goes with her. He loves her but is too stubborn to let her know that. Can these two ever learn to communicate and admit their feelings for each other? Will they ever find Kendall’s sister or is she lost to her forever?
This was a great book and I couldn’t put it down once I started reading it!

THE STUBBORN LORD is the sixth installment in the Dragon Lord series in the on-going Qurilixen World Novels by Michelle Pillow. Each Dragon Lords installment takes place simultaneously. The stories follow the Royal family as they find and win their destined mate. This is Lord Alek's and Kendall's story. Alek, like his brother Bron, is chauvinistic and full of male superiority. Kendall is a very determined woman. She wants to get home and that's all she wants.
Lord Aleksej, Younger Duke of Draig is reluctantly attending the Breeding Festival for the fifth time. At the last moment, Lord Alek decides to avoid the Bride Festival and enters the forest. As he contemplates just losing his crystal it starts to glow and then hears someone running.
Kendall Haven’s life has been turned upside down. She was kidnapped and woke up on a Galaxy Brides ship. Her only thought is escaping and returning to her fueling station and making sure her sister isn't sold to pay a gambling debt, or worse.
As usual in these stories, the chemistry between the main characters is hot, heavy and romantic. As in the High Duke's story, the wedding night does not go according to Draig customs.
The individual storylines and characters build upon each other throughout the series. Each story can be read as a stand alone, but so much better read in their proper order.
I liked the characters and their story and the hero and heroine get their HEA. Don't worry the story isn't finished, Mirek's and Vlad's stories need told. There are also still unanswered questions, such as a sick bride, a sister to save, and more to look forward to reading about
I recommend this book and the series to anyone who likes fantasy romance on an intergalactic planet and some steamy and fun reading.

Kendal Haven is the daughter of a drunken gambler. In order for her father to cover his debts, Kendal finds herself signed over to the casino he owes money to. She is “sold” many times over and wakes up on the Galaxy Brides ship headed for Quilixen. Alek, second Duke of Draig and nephew to the king and queen, is attending his fifth Breeding Festival. He has given up all hope of finding his mate and does not want to attend the festival. Kendall ran from the ship and tries to hide in the forest where Alek finds her and takes her back to his tent because he is afraid to have her go through the receiving line and lose her now that he has finally found her. Even though they have incredible chemistry, all Kendal can think about is going home to find her sister Margot and asks for help to find transport off the planet. There isn’t a lot of communication between the two. He doesn’t explain what it means for him to marry him and then have her leave, and she just keeps saying she has to leave but doesn’t explain that it is to save her sister from being given as payment for gambling debts as she was.
Great story where the guy gets the girl in the end. You are left with a question mark about Margot. But hopefully there is a book about her that I haven’t come across yet.
I received a copy of the book via Booksprout and voluntarily reviewed it.
Book six we now have Alex‘s story. He’s the second oldest brother of the royal cousins and it’s his fifth year at the breeding festival. He has no hope that this fifth time would be any different and looks at the night as nothing more than supporting his cousins, the four royal princes.
I always felt bad for the three older brothers that year after year they left alone. Older brother Bron’s book was book five and we know baby brother Vladan met his bride before the ceremony. (I must say, I’m really looking forward to his book based on the glimpses we’ve been given.) Alek finds his bride in this book. The one I feel sorry for is poor Mirek. He’s left the last dragon standing and clearly his heart is breaking even as he tries to hide it and be happy for his three brothers. I loved how close the four brothers are and that we get to know each of them individually over four books.
Kendall is yet another unique bride. I really like how different each of them have been, with such diverse personalities and situations. No two books seem like the same story even though technically they are.
Alek and Kendall don’t have an easy time of it. There is a lot of misunderstandings between them and they have to go through a lot before they can find their HEA.

Part of the series of the Draig on Qurilixen World and this is Lord Aleksej, Younger Duke of Draig, and Kendall Haven, fueling dock operator, story. So Kendall’s dad is a horrible gambler and he loses a lot. And he even uses his two daughters as bets. Yes, Father of the Year Award there. However, Kendall has been managing the fueling dock, getting an education and caring for her younger sister Margot since Margot’s mother passed away. She is older than the other Galaxy Brides in our story at the age 30, however she like the others “feel” her one true mate. This is beautiful how each couple fall in love. In the other Dragon Lord stories we as readers get snippets and introductions to these other characters and even though most overlap, we learn how these brides end up as brides. This story paints a clearer picture of the nephews of the King and Queen. I love happy endings and yes we are left wondering about Margot but our author does tell us she gets her own story in Space Lords: His Metal Maiden.

I received this book for Free to Give My True & Honest Review in kindle mode & saw that the audio was there so I brought that.
The novel is an alright read though I personally didn't enjoy it as much as I did STRANDED WITH THE CAJUN.
The characters are from other Worlds & Outerspace where it seems humans can live freely. Here we have Human Kendall who is from a metal Docking Station in outerspace & then her Father Haven SOLD her to cover his gambling debts. And she has no clue where's she's going & who's actually taken her, as she's been in statis where she's being drugged asleep for the majority of her 'travels' But it's when the final ship she was in was stopping for the women to become 👰♀️for these strangers in this strange world. This World is the land of the unknown Dragon Shifters & whilst she was running away she was saved by this Dragon Man Alek & he told her she was His Wife. so it's when she's there for the short period of timethat things change ESPECIALLY when she goes back home to save her 13 yrs old sister Margot before her father exchanges Her for his gambling Debts. And it's here when she gets back to her home place things changes EVEN MORE....
I really liked the Princes' books but their cousins' books seem to have rushed endings and cliff hangers (so far). I found Kendall to be a strong person doing everything she can to keep her family together and when her ne'er do well father uses her as collateral, she does everything in her power to get back to her sister. Alek starts out as a trickster, willing to do anything to keep Kendall and morphs to a true mate that will do anything to keep his mate.
The book starts strong with interesting characters with unique circumstances. I kind of rushed through the middle wanting something to happen. When Kendall finally sets out on her journey (with Alex by her side), the story picked up with some major revelations and then the story ended. Alex and Kendall are together but a major part of the story was left hanging.
I liked the underlying threat that continued in the Princes' books but the individual cliffhangers of the Lords' books are a bit frustrating. Overall, worth the read.
Kendall helped her father raise her sister and run their space port that was a rundown refueling station. Her father was an awful gambler and used Kendall to salvage a huge gambling debt and then she was put in hibernation and sold to the Brides of Qurilixin. Alek and his brothers were Lords and dragon shifters on Qurilixin and were going to the annual stone mating ceremony to see if any of the brides were their true mates and cause their stone to glow. When Alek realized Kendall was his true mate he forgot all existing rituals and stole away with her. Their mating was strange from the beginning as well as his brothers were as they were fraught with dangerous situations and complications even though their love was deep their loyalties were deep also. When Kendall and Alek were faced with the ultimate choice of staying together or leaving one behind, could one choose family over the love they had found? Fun read

This is Alek and Kendall's love story. Kendall was to pay for her father's gambling debt with very self. She was drugged and put in a statis pod for an unknown time. When she finally is awaken, she finds herself of a Galaxy bride ship. When they land, she makes a run for it into the wilderness. Alek had given up on love until he found Kendall in the wilderness alone and scared. His crystal glowed showing him she was his fated mate. With her trouble past of her fathers gambling and worried of her younger sisters fate, Kendall wants to leave Alek's world to make sure her little sister is safe. Alek does everything he can to make Kendall happy , including letting her go or giving up everything he has ever known to be by her side for life. This was a touching love story. Sometimes I had tears in my eyes as I felt like I could feel the pain in the characters. Alek's only hope at love's happiness was Kendall, and Kendall was tore between the love of her husband and her love of her helpless little sister.

This is a wonderful rea that you will not be able to put down once you start reading Kendall Havens has had her life turned upside down and inside out after her father has used her to cover his losses and now, she is nothing more than an object sold to the highest bidder. She finds herself on a planet she has never heard of and she has not the slightest intent to cover her father’s debts by selling herself, he can go to hell first. Then a Dragon Shifter by the name of Lord Alek has never found his mate and is totally surprised when it appears that the human female may in fact be the female, he has been searching all his life for, who would ever have thought. This is a captivating read that will keep you guessing from start to finish and you will enjoy every moment. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Kendall is sure things can’t get much worse and then she’s taken by thugs as collateral for her dad’s gambling debts. She’s then auctioned and sold off to an alien bride procurement agency, basically she’s gonna be given as a bride for a primitive alien male. She’s got no intention of being a bride to anyone, alien or not, and there’s no way in hell she’s going to go along with the contract. Lord Alek is hotter than hot, he’s convinced he will never find his mate, then he goes to a bridal ceremony and sees Kendall and it’s like love at first sight for him. It’s going against tradition but Alek wants his mate to want him as much as he wants her. He’s gonna have to work at it but before long she’s like putty in his hands, and mouth.
This is a steamy shifter romance, it’s got fated mates and a happily ever after ending. Like the rest of the books in this series, this is a must read for sure.

Ok, I LOVED this. It was the first book in the series where I felt that the love was mutual from the beginning and that the real obstacle was outside of the relationship. Don't get me wrong, the other books were great, but this one was just refreshing. I got frustrated in other installments because there was always some kind of misunderstanding or ridiculous denial involved. In this, the characters just seemed so genuine and my heart hurt. And now I am absolutely DYING to know what happens with Margo! Admittedly, I got into this series pretty recently, so I did go hunting to find out if there was a book already out about her, but to no avail. I am sad... I think I am looking forward to Margo's book the most and I am kind of in need of something to fill the void because I don't like waiting T^T
The story of Kendall and Alek, an alien Lord. She has been taken from her world to pay for her fathers gambling debt, then sent to the Breeding Festival on Quilixen. Alek finds her and senses his mate so he keeps her safe. Miscommunication abounds as they come to an agreement of her marriage to him. She wants to go home, which he does not understand until she finally confesses she has a sister who is in danger as well. Alek is a male who takes charge of situations and Kendall is just as determined. The characters are terrific, highly detailed with intense emotions and feelings. The storyline is fast paced with a lot of depth and backstories. Could not put this book down and enjoyed every minute of it. Well done.

Kendall and Alek's story seemed very similar to some of the other books in the series, that said I still enjoyed it. Kendall's father is a gambler who without her knowledge or consent used her as collateral and then lost her in a game of cards. She is then drugged and sold to Galaxy Brides When the effects of the drug wear off she tries to escape but finds herself matched with Alek. She begs Alec to take her home and make sure her little sister Margot is safe.
Alek our dragon-shifter finds it hard to express his emotions but he'll do almost anything to convince Kendall of his love for her. The attraction is mutual will he be able to convince her to stay with him?
The story was good but I kept feeling that I'd already read this book before. There were no major revelations in this story but I enjoyed seeing the development of Alek's relationship with Kendall.
Loved this story that is about Lord Alek who has given up on finding his fated mate and Kendall who was sold to pay her father's gambling debt. This is the six story among this series, and I have to admit I've read this series in a mishap rotation, but I have found each story gives enough information to be a standalone. Prince Alek dishearten attends the Breeding Festival along with his brothers. Kendall was sold and bought by the Galaxy Brides. Feeling she's just merchandise, Kendall is determined to escape and rescue her little sister Margot so when the chance came, Kendall is running away into the woods. Alek decides to respite himself in the woods when his crystal glows. Following the crystal in his dragon form, he finds Kendall. What happens is an enjoyable story that I received via Booksprout and that I volunteer to read and review.
"Suddenly, swords and dungeons weren't sounding too bad."
Kendall never planned on being a bride, but as the responsible member of her family she finds herself not only with a too good to be true man, but desperately trying to get back home in time to take care of the responsibilities that give her life meaning.
Alek was ready to give up on finding a wife when Kendall appeared in his life. He'll do anything to settle their marriage and make her happy, no matter how challenging, but will it be enough when he can't get this mysterious woman to explain why she wants to leave.
This done in one book sees family loyalty and responsibility from two different angles as a new couple struggles to find their happily ever after when their lives are anchored in very different places.
I was gifted with a copy of this book and chose to share my review.
From the very beginning I felt Alek’s pain and longing. He has a strong belief in his gods and thinks he is being punished. Kendall woke up on the Galaxy Brides ship heading to Qurilixen, not knowing how she got there. Alek and Kendall’s meet cute is not cute, but with her growing up on the fueling station she reacts better than most. Having read many of the previous books I feel like I’ve been to Qurilixen. Even if this was your first book though the descriptions of the planet, the castles, and the animals is rich and colorful making you feel like you can see it. This story is sometimes sad but this culture clash is also funny and heartwarming, and in the end you can’t help smiling.
