A very enjoyable medical romance, “ER Rivals”, by Scarlet Wilson, features a confident, strong heroine and a hero who’s been allowing loss to define his life.
Maggie is a wonderful heroine: a devoted and capable doctor, she’s also a kind person. I loved that she’s not easily intimidated in a very stressful and competitive working environment.
Liam is also a strong character and a dedicated professional. A certain loss and its cause affected his outlook on life and people irrevocably.
I loved how they started a bit antagonistically and appreciated how later they supported each other.
The romance progressed perhaps a bit too quickly, but the relationship, punctuated by the cute dogs, is lovely.
The scenes in the ER and in a catastrophe event are so vivid and convincing. Some aspects are heartbreaking.
