4.5⭐️ what do you mean this is the last in the series!! I was obsessed from the first page and Zia and Caine quickly became my favorite couple.
I don’t normally like reading the single mom trope but I really liked the dynamic it brought to the story. Zias kid was so cute and actually sounded like a kid (you don’t know how many stories I read where the kids dialogue don’t match the age 😂) The plot was plottin in this, the twist and betrayal towards the end had me mad as hell for Zia but Caine is literally the best man and set things right, I truly hated what a certain someone did to her that caused her to be so cold to Caine but it all was worth it in the end. I kinda wished she got to get closure or ask questions herself on why that other man did what he did to her.
The only negative is that I want it to be longer like all the other ones but that’s because it’s just too good. Who doesn’t wanna read black women being obsessed and doted on by Italian mafia men 🙌🏽

FINALLY Davis writes a woman who STANDS ON BUSINESS! I like that she fought for her own and could stand on her own two feet and not always give in to these men! And the BEGGING Caine was doing was CHEFS MFN KISS! The pining and damn near groveling?? Now that’s wtf I’m talking about!!
I like that Zia had a passion! She was serious about what she believed in and just wasn’t sitting around waiting for dude to act crazy or had low self esteem. She was kinda badass to me. She could survive on her own and was independent. Caine was just a bonus!
Out of all three books Caine is my favorite!

Whew Shantel! Caine was over the top obsessed with Zia, ok? He wasn't trying to hear no, wait, slow down, none of that! Full speed ahead until he got what he wanted, which was her! There was nothing he wouldn't do to gain her attention either. Stalking, manipulation, self-harm, no matter as long as it got him results.
Zia, doesn't know how to take this crazy man who won't take no for an answer. Ignoring him, cold shoulder, and rude behavior doesn't work. He just comes on stronger. The gag is that she low key likes him, although she doesn't want to. The trauma from her past won't allow her to fall for another man like Arturo, and have her heart broken. But it seems to be happening without her permission.
The cat and mouse game between these two gave me a headache! 😤 Zia I get that you are protecting yourself, but damn! You were giving this man mixed signals, and you could see that he is not wrapped too tight! 👀 Although Zia was pushing him away, and hurting his feelings left and right, Caine was steadfast in his pursuit.
Then the drama, secrets, and lies are revealed. What??? 😮 That was really a selfish and coward move sir! 🤬 Now Zia gets to really see who Caine is, and what he is made of! Lawd it took these two forever and a day to get on the same page, but I'm glad they finally got there. Loved the genuine relationship that Caine built with Enoch. It was adorable. Good job! 👍🏿👍🏿

C’mon King Caine!
He was a crash out from beginning to end! Yeah, stalking in real life is no bueno, but in Shantel Davis’ universe it is a necessity.
Funniest part, for me, she was spotted on the interview and answered the phone and he still emptied the clinic! “Oops, my bad.”
His parents are still my favorites cause regardless of what love looked like for them, their sons were given the chance to find it in their own lives.
I’d have liked to see Maya have her own little one, but I understand. 💐💐💐

Did I miss something?
I enjoyed Cain and Zia for the most part and never stopped rooting for them. I love a simp that simply wants what he wants. I also appreciate that the author wrapped the story up and didn’t leave us hanging.
That said, some things didn’t quite add up. What happened to Maya’s baby from the end of Raziel? What happened to Maya’s friend? Where is Damon? Lol overall it was a good read 📖

Oops she did it again
Shantel Davis can sure right a love story with unhinged obsessed men and the women the women of color they would burn world for to save. They are human and make mistakes but love is unmistakable. I love how the series though it could be a standalone you read about. Raziel & Maya, Priest & Miyori. Caine and Zia. It has the intensity and journey I enjoy reading each time.

Caine is no punk , he didn’t do emotion, he is the king of ruthlessness…, but when it came to Zia, he was as weak as they come. Zia had been down that road before and she wasn’t going for an encore, so she sealed her heart … but Caine’s obsession had no bound, therefore he was relentless…

I’ve read my few share of mob stories and by far this is the worst.
Some reviews were singing praises for this book but after having read it Zia was sooo flipping rude and demanding, and the only time she was acceptable was the last chapter (if that).
Caine’s tendencies are everything we are taught to run from in guys. Overall I saw the concept but the execution was simply a no from me. However someone else might be able to appreciate it.

Intense
Whelp, Shantel Davis sure knows how to write ‘em! There’s alpha characters, then there’s her over the top, gritty, determined, sexy, slightly (mainly?) psycho male antiheroes! Caine and Zia’s story is strangely fascinating and ultimately satisfying, definitely a vicarious thrill ride.

she does it again!
I love all of her collection !! But there’s just something about Caine! I wasn’t even notified that this book was out by Amazon… found it on accident and was glad I did!! She’s such a good storyteller. Highly recommend the whole series.

I don't like wimpy men. I couldn't get past Zia being a bi&@h and Cain being her bi&@h. Not for mer, but if you like snarky chicks a wimpy men, then this is the book for you.

Great story
Really good story, this is coming from someone who hates mob storylines! I enjoyed all of the characters! Ten out of ten, would recommend! Shantel Davis continues to write another great book!

Great Ending to wonderful series
All of these books highlight complicated men and women. The author does a masterful job of blending Alpha Male intensity string female characters all with dark, and spicy romance & twisted Narratives.

End felt rushed but it was enthralling...

Loved all 3 but this had to be my favorite. I love a man that is down BAD and Caine was it!! I would take 10 more stories in this world.
