Remnants : The Reckoning & The Shattered Veil
The veil has shattered, and the world is breaking open.
The gods are stirring, and hell has no fury like a Phoenix reclaiming what was stolen from her.

This book is brilliant, it’s a mystery, a who done it, and also a young girl coming into her own story all wrapped up into one.
I really loved the authenticity of the lore in this book in regards to New Orleans, how certain things would be said in their native language and the customs upheld in the super natural society, but also in people’s own houses. There is a mystery around every corner and the author does an amazing job building up suspense. The author also did an amazing job building up the strength of character in her FMC, she has an amazing back story and roots, she’s been knocked down and judged time and time again and she proves why she deserves to be exactly who she is and where she ends up being towards the end. She’s got interesting roots for sure, but also a very epic life ahead of her in the future.
Since you can obviously tell there are wolves in this book by the cover, it won’t be a spoiler to say the way the wolves are in this story is a very different take on how they transition, what makes them
More powerful etc., but they aren’t the only super natural creatures in this book. You’ll have to read to find out more, but I promise it will be worth it to read and there are some epic twists and turns along the way.

This is one of those stories you don’t just read and move on from you stay in it a while.
I spent real time with this one, going back through pieces, catching the details, and watching how everything came together. You can feel the care in it. Nothing is random, nothing feels rushed it all builds into something that actually means something by the time you reach the end.
The characters don’t play it safe, and I loved that. Their choices have weight, their relationships aren’t easy, and it keeps everything feeling real instead of polished and predictable.
And when things start clicking into place? That’s when it really hits.
There’s a lot of work behind this story, and it shows in the best way. I’m honestly proud of how it turned out and how strong it stands by the end.
Definitely one I’d go back to just to catch everything I didn’t notice the first time.

Remnants: The Reckoning & The Shattered Veil was such an immersive read. From the beginning, the story pulls you into a world filled with danger, mystery, emotional conflict, and high stakes. The atmosphere felt intense and layered, and I constantly wanted to know what would happen next.
One of my favorite parts was the way the story balanced action and emotion. The characters felt complex and flawed in a believable way, which made their struggles and relationships even more engaging. There were several moments that genuinely surprised me, and the tension throughout kept me fully invested.
The world-building was vivid without being overwhelming, and the darker tone of the story added so much depth to the overall experience. I especially enjoyed the unfolding secrets and the feeling that there was always something bigger happening beneath the surface.
If you enjoy dark fantasy/sci-fi stories with mystery, emotional depth, twists, and a fast-paced plot, this is definitely worth reading. It left me eager to see where the story goes next.

This fantasy novel is easily one of the most captivating books I’ve ever read. From the very first chapter, it pulls you into a richly built world filled with mystery, intense drama, and deeply developed characters. After reading the first book, I was eager to explore the story and characters more and TEW gave us just that! Book 2 of Tameka E.Wesley’s Remnants Sagas is definitely a must read of 2026!

In book 1 we were left with the question of what happened to Billy and where did he go. This book was a combination of a search and rescue mission while also touch on self discovery and growth.
We learn more about the history of Eve and get to meet some interesting characters that add excitement and more detail to the story. This book had me on edge a few times with wanting to know more information about the characters and what was going on.
This was an amazing book to read and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get into fantasy books. It touchs on so many amazing genres that are right up my alley.

Absolutely loved how easy of a read this was, read this every chance I got! The characters were so versatile, the plot was stunning and the way the book flows, breath taking. This story was an absolute favorite read. If you love dark fantasy and mystery, then this is for you. I was completely pulled in and stayed that way! This story was fast paced, and balanced action with emotion. You can definitely tell the love and dedication that the author put into this book. I can't wait to read more!
