"Her Knight Wore Scrubs (Mercy, Inc. #1)" by Lynne Marshall is a great medical romance. China Seabury has been trying to heal from a car accident that happened when she was a teenager. She has devoted her life in teaching the dangers of being distracted while driving. When she is trying to get a charity fundraiser set up she finds herself having to contact and deal with Mercy Inc. resident playboy, PA Eric Morell. While China is trying to deal with her life and everything that happened to her because of her car accident as a teen, Eric is also dealing with his issues which revolve around his father. There is so many good things going on in this story. Well worth reading whether you enjoy Medical romance or romance books in general.

3 1/2 Stars ~ When China was a senior in high school she made a mistake that took her best friend's life and almost left her a cripple. Now an ER nurse, and daughter of one of her hospital's most affluent patrons, she spends as much time as she can advocating safe teenage driving. After doing his stint in the armed forces as a medic, Rick is now a Physician's Assistant and hoping that he'll be promoted to ER Supervisor. He's got a reputation as a rebel and he's had his eye on China for along time. China doesn't date, she's totally committed to her job and to her cause, which leads her to ask Rick to MC her latest fund raiser. Rick jumps at the chance to finally get to know China better, and slowly China gets to know the real man behind that flamboyant exterior. She's terrified though that he'll run as far as he can from her once he learns what she did.

This is an emotional story about love and forgiveness. China has never been able to forgive herself for her friend's death, and as always felt unworthy of happiness. Rick teaches her that she has so much to offer and that she's more than the horrible scars both inside and outside. Rick has his own issues with forgiveness, and China teaches him that there is such a thing as unconditional love. Once offered, it's easy to receive. I enjoyed this lovely romance very much.

Whether a dramatic situation is occurring in a hospital or is taking place between two individuals, the event always comes across as true-to-life in the first book of the Mercy, Inc. series. Lynne Marshall makes any medical incidents particularly realistic, regardless of the circumstances, and I was placed right in the middle of each crisis as it happened. When her characters must face a trying time in their lives, these moments are also realistically depicted with genuine feelings which left no doubt as to what each person was experiencing. I have read numerous medical romances from Lynne Marshall, and she constantly has me cheering on her couples while they help others though unexpected emergencies.

When China Seabury speaks with Eric Morell about helping with a fundraiser that she is overseeing, he readily agrees. While her motive is very personal for wanting the event to be a success, his seems more superficial. Yet to show how lives are impacted by teens driving habits, the emergency room nurse will use the self-confident physician’s assistant because people listen to him. China is happy with the way the charity function turns out, though she is stunned when Eric seems determined that they will go on a date together very soon. But she has a big reason for not getting involved with anyone.

HER KNIGHT WORE SCRUBS has one emotional conflict after another, and wanting to discover how each scenario might play out kept me reading without stopping. The characters in a book by Lynne Marshall are always portrayed with such realism, and what happens to several of them in this story is convincing and had me concerned about their futures. Eric may seem like someone without many cares, but as I read more and more about him, hidden facts are revealed that gave me insight into his inner personality. As for China, a past occurrence greatly haunts her in the present, and I really felt for her as she tried to work through several troubling predicaments. Between family issues, medical ordeals, and emotional upsets, China and Eric had lots of challenges to overcome. Rating – 4.5 Stars

Author Lynne Marshall's medical expertise (20+ years as an RN) and superior storytelling skills combine for a very enjoyable romance in "Her Knight Wore Scrubs"--Book One in the "Mercy, Inc. Series". China Seabury is a dedicated ER nurse who suffers lingering physical and emotional effects from a tragedy in her past. As she works to put together a fundraiser to raise awareness of the very issue (the dangers of distracted teen driving) which forever changed her life, she realizes that she needs a master of ceremonies who can hold the attention of an audience. Eric Morell, top-notch ER Physician's Assistant, handsome charmer, and swoon-worthy ladies magnet, seems the perfect choice. Despite China's aversion to Eric's confident bravado, she soldiers on and asks him for his help--and he agrees. As they spend more and more time together, friendship--and perhaps something more--is added to their mutual respect for each other's professional abilities. Each of them grows as a person as they grow closer together while lending mutual support through professional and personal issues. Could it be that there is much more depth to Eric's character than China ever thought possible? Eric is attracted to China's cool beauty and no-nonsense persona--can he make her heart warm up to him? This storyline is very well-paced and very involving--I read it all in one sitting. I look forward to upcoming entries in this series.

China Seabury has spent years trying to heal from the devastating car accident that destroyed her legs and killed her friend. Part of this she does through a fund raiser that tries to reach young drivers about the danger of taking your eyes off the road. Working at Mercy Inc she also has close contact with Eric Morell a PA . His goal is to be ER Supervisor. She for some reason is attracted to him and finally asks him to be MC at a fundraiser. Eric is an excellent PA with the only problem being his father who is head of the hospital and the two get along like oil and vinegar. Eric has issues with his father from the past and since he picks the supervisor it doesn't bode well. China and her sister Sierra both work at the hospital and have a mom who is too busy running to fancy places to care about her children. Both have issues but put together in the hospital environment makes this a very exciting story. Ms. Marshall stays true to the hospital background and that intensifies the great story that she wrote. Can China and Eric put the past behind bury the hatchett with their parents and find love. Ms. Marshall will show you how they do. Excellent story loved it.

When two unlikely hearts collide, there's magic to be made! With the first book in her Mercy, Inc. series, Lynn Marshall brings us the story of an ER nurse and a physician's assistant in HER KNIGHT WORE SCRUBS. The characters each have an intriguing back story and their banter catches a reader's attention quickly.

It seems China is nice to everyone except for Eric when we first meet her, but we soon realize she simply has no patience for what she sees as conceit. She drives herself hard to raise funding for a cause near and dear to her heart, so when Eric becomes a driving force in that nature, she finally sees him for the man he truly is.

Eric is a fun character. He's always ready with a smile to delight a patient or ease someone's stress, but he doesn't like that China thinks poorly of him. He makes it his goal to get her to warm up to him and say yes to a date.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good medical romance with equal parts medical emergencies, character drama and love blossoming before our eyes. I enjoyed China and Eric!

Her Knight Wore Scrubs is the first book in Lynne Marshall’s Mercy, Inc. series. I always love a good medical romance and this one did not disappoint. China was a teenager when she was involved in an accident. This accident has shaped her life and out of it she has devoted herself to making a difference.

Eric is a physician’s assistant who is well respected in his job. He too was affected by his teenage years and is still seeking his father’s respect.

What I loved most about this book is the lesson that was taught thru China’s devotion to teenage driving. Will China learn to overcome the accident and learn to trust and find love? Will Eric accept his father and move on with his life’s dream?

Her Knight Wore Scrubs taught so many lessons about life, love and forgiveness. Both China and Eric learned those lessons and were able to grow and move forward with their lives. I highly recommend this book and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

China Seabury needs a emcee for her fundraiser that she is overseeing. She ends up asking playboy, Eric Morrell. He says yes. They start to get to knowing each other more as time goes on. Eric realizes that China is not his type, but she would be someone who he could get serious about and to settle down with. China has a secret. She had been in a bad accident when she was young. She feels guilty. That is why she is trying to teach teenager drivers to be careful and safe. Eric has problems with his dad. No relationship with him. Can they each stand up for themselves? Can Eric help China with her past to start her future? Will China forgive herself? Will Eric and China fall in love? Or will they move toward the future separately? Will Eric and his dad forgive each other? I loved this story. It’s an emotional story. It’s a MUST READ

First Thoughts: There's always one like him in every crowd, isn't there? And he's never quite what he appears to be once you scratch the surface. The dead mother-father & son conflict seems popular lately, doesn't it? Her hang up killing her friend in the accident didn't ring true for me. It's been 10 years, she's a nurse, and she's heavily involved in crusades about teen driving. Somewhere along the way she's got to have come across the concept of survivor's guilt with the kids and turned it on her own situation. Her own sister is a nurse and knows what's going on with her. A pretty good story overall, though. Some pretty good crises..

When first reading the book you think I’m not sure I can stand the public persona of the male lead, but his private side wins out. I love the female lead campaigning her cause.

Having worked in road safety in Australia in the 90’s and having to read and collate the statistics of people involved in car accidents her cause felt a little close to home. And what every young person believes = It wont happen to me !!

Marshall has a nice touch with stories like this. China is a nurse with scars, both physical and emotional. She has hidden herself away emotionally for years, until handsome Eric breaks her walls down. They have some strife to face, including Eric's dad, a big-shot Doctor at Mercy, Inc. However, they are able to help each other through to reach their HEA.

I've been reading a rather dark, spy mystery novel and needed something lighter. This fit the bill. I like hospital settings and romances. I really liked the characters in this book, especially the two main ones. There is an important message in this book that I wasn't expecting.

Her Knight Wore Scrubs by Lynne Marshall
This book starts out with a note from the author about the writing of the story. Other works in the series are also highlighted.
Story starts with China, an ER nurse in LA at Mercy, INC. She runs many charity events always calling on help from many others to make the events a success.
Eric is a PA and his father is a Chief in the same hospital. Eric and China are often thrown together to aide those brought in to the ER.
What I love about this book is that I often will watch medical dramas on TV and never know what it is they are doing. This book explains about the thing they put on your finger and why, and all the other instruments they use and why and the reports.
China needs a MC for the big fundraiser and asks Eric and he accepts. While at the dinner her sister makes trouble and get Eric to donate money if China will go to dinner with him. They share many dinners and get to know one another.
Loved hearing of the teen driving event and how everybody pulls together to make it stick to the teens that you don't drink and drive. When she is having dinner at Eric's house a natural disaster happens and all they can think about is getting to the hospital to help others. Like a story where you hear both sides of the story.
Love their devotion. Their romance blooms until they spend time in bed and the lights go on and she panics because of the scar on her legs. She is adamant that he leave and never contact her again. She's not come to terms with her past and why her leg is the way it is.
She also tells him off about how he has to stick up for himself with his father....
They both need work to fix their past lives and you know it's never going to happen.
Action, adventure, mysteries, secrets, romance, medical scenes, just an all around good feel book.
Enjoyed this read and how others step up to help them achieve their goals. Can't wait to read more from this series.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Past mistakes, loss and hurts make China who she is today and fuel her drive to make teen drivers realize their responsibility when they get behind the wheel and drive.
Eric is also a product of mistakes, loss and hurts that have made him who he is today and drives him to be the best PA that he can be.
They both work in a busy ER and China cannot stand Eric until she events bring them together and she realizes that he is not the person that he projects and is an extremely caring individual... the more time she spends with him she begins to fall for him as he also falls for her...
Will the events of their past drive a wedge between them or will they be able to grow and begin to resolve the pain of their pasts and allow their love for each other to bloom..

The author worked as a nurse for over two decades so the book doesn’t lack in the research and accuracy of the set up. I liked that her characters aren’t one dimensional, have their flows and insecurities. On the other hand the romance part felt a bit flat and that’s my main problem with the story. Just a good story, but without fireworks. I enjoyed it but I’m not sure if I’ll continue with the series.

Her Knight Wore Scrubs

They worked in the ER together. She was not a good looking girl, in her opinion. He was a great guy who had decided not to be a doctor like his father, but Physician assistant. When they start working together outside of the hospital he becomes aware that she is just who he wants permanently. He has to convince her that they have the goals in life.

Sweet meds romance!

Sad that it's a corporate led hospital, but all is right by the end. I guess it's the hospital chance for survival.
