Mettle and Mistletoe - a review by Rosemary Kenny.
Mettle and Mistletoebrings a Seasonal murder-mystery for Paige and Ashford, after they and a few others are marooned at the Academy by a snowstorm...and a killer strikes. I liked the way the authors build up the tension, both in the burgeoning relationship of mentor and intern, followed by uncomfortable revelations - and a corpse! The atmosphere is eerily contrasted with complicated emotions, and lurking danger, making Mettle and Mistletoe a Yuletide none of those involved will ever forget. Try it today and you'll be want to read the whole series for sure...Happy Holidays!

Mettle & Mistletoe is book eight in The Dominion Point Mystery series and takes the reader on a murder mystery during a snowstorm. The writing is well done, the characters are quirky and likeable, and the story is filled with mystery, danger, suspense, unexpected plot twists, intrigue, humor, and so much more. I am loving this series, and I can't wait to read the next book in this fabulous series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Like my heading says this starts slow. After all the hubbub of students leaving for break there’s a lot of quiet. Even after the murder there’s a lot of dancing around in circles. As an aside I found the time flow confusing, I wasn’t sure how much time had passed and if it was night or day. I don’t know if this is intentional as the story takes place during a blizzard and that can be disorientating or just the rough edges of an arc or what but during the first half or so of the book I wasn’t sure if it was one day, three, a week I was confused on that front. I found Paige’s holiday antics hilarious. Trying to get Professor Ashford out of default grinch mode, challenge accepted lol. I think this mystery was the most confounding one for me so far in this series and I mean that in a good way. I love to be stumped. I had no clue. You’d think holiday break, limited number of people on campus, big storm keeping everyone secluded but it was a head scratcher. I liked the conspiracy theory behind the whole thing or maybe at the root of it is a better way to describe it. Sorta brought a bit of Evelyn in even though she was cruising the holidays away. Paige and Ashford progress or no time will tell (I’m hoping yes and waiting very impatiently lol). All in all a good read!.

I thought this one was funny and entertaining to read. Enjoyed the twists and surprises and trying to guess what was going on. And adding the complication of a blizzard made it fun to read too. Always fun watching Paige figure out the mystery.
