Charles Norwood built a compound to save a world he had doomed.

As contractors arrive at the compound, not everything is as they were led to believe. The experiment they were hired to undergo was only supposed to last for five years, causing Bryson's suspicions to rise when he finds supplies to last for much longer. Stonewalled at every turn, he decides to take the investigation into his own hands, uncovering secrets that will tear his relationships apart.

Charles' family came with him onto the compound, including his nephew Jaques. A former college football star, Jaq left behind a world of fame and fortune for something he knows is a lie. His only goal now is to protect those he loves the most from those who would take them from him.

2.75.i won this book in a giveaway and was excited to read it. The idea of this zombie book is a good one but the execution isn’t. I didn’t think the writing was great, but there were a few action sections that were wonderful and I wish the writing in the rest of the book were as good.

Quick and thrilling read! I didn’t know what the main focal plot of this novel was but it grew increasingly fascinating to me. It reminded me a bit of “The Last of Us in a sense, maybe that’s a spoiler. You can form connections to the characters in this book and most are pretty memorable. You can feel for them, know their fears and their emotions. I did feel the ending was a bit quick, as it seemed that so much was going on while I only had a couple pages left. Overall, the book kept me wanting more and for that, I give it 5 stars. Very much recommend.

I wasnt quite sure what I was getting into when I started this book and honestly thought about stopping it after about 2 chapters but Im so glad I didnt!!! This was the first book in quite a while that I didnt want to stop reading and was constantly thinking about it while I wasnt reading it! I did kind of feel like it just ended and I was not ready for it, Im hoping that there will be a second one!

More like a 3.5 star rating. I received this book as a giveaway. I like a good dystopian novel once in a while. This one was different as it doesn't follow the tradition dystopian format. I liked all of the characters and it was a fast paced read.

Loved this story and the characters! Was only one or two places that dragged on slightly, but really enjoyed it! Definitely reading Book 2

Great twist on a post apocalyptic theme. Very original. Enjoyed the read and hard to put down. I would recommend it.

I love a good dystopian book. They are usually about hope, that in the end it will all turn around. This one did not disappoint and in a way that I never saw coming.

I wanted to like this book but there were so many flaws. I had to finish despite the plot holes and lack of good ,(or any,)editing.

The premise is a good one- an apocalyptic world gone awry.

This story has a new twist in the post-apocalyptic genre. Not zombies, but something just as bad. The writing is very basic. There is no flowery prose and even the conversations are a bit unrealistic in manner of speech (no one ever speaks in contractions??). The story was interesting and kept me engaged for the most part but about 2/3 of the way through I was just ready for it to be over. There didn't seem to be much more story to tell. The ending was rushed and one final resolution to a situation just made me say 'what?' and roll my eyes.

We have all read books with dystopian futures, but this book takes place as the world ends. It has a unique take, great dialogue, and is fast paced. Fun read!
