When Santa and Krampus Decide You’re TheirsHearing my boyfriend say his ex was “the one that got away” should have been my last straw. But when his family gave me a awful Christmas gift and called me a drama queen for being hurt, I realized I was done.
I escaped to Shadow Wolf Creek for peace and healing, only to get roped into playing Mrs. Claus at a children’s event. The Santa was drop-dead gorgeous. His helper was tall, tattooed, horned, and looking at me like he hated me on sight.
One wrong car ride later, I jumped out of a moving truck while Krampus himself chased me through the snow and carried me off to a cabin. At that point, the truth was not hard to believe.
They are cursed, immortal, and they both want me.
Now I am snowed in with two supernatural men who claim I belong to them.
I came here to get over one man. I did not expect to fall for two.
This steamy paranormal romance will make you want to join the bad girls list.
The book was too short for me. The relationship background and their individual backstory was not clear and I still had questions. The reason why they were cursed? How did I Klavion & Nick become friends after being enemies? There were repeated errors in the book. There were repeatee sentences back to back and also repeated paragraphs. Spelling was incorrect and for all of these reasons I gave it a 3/5. This next part are possible suggestions where there was more that could be added to make the story longer and not feel rushed, such as, all three of them run into Freddy & Antria like at a gala or something & Freddy regrets what he did and apologizes. Or they somehow run into Freddy & his family and they try "joking" with Reneé in front of K & Nick and maybe the guys produced their monsters and scare the shyt out of them. If you can get pass all of that, the story was good and I like how Reneé was able to bring Krampus out of his shell. I was also surprised that she wasn't afraid of his beast. I am confused on what kind of monster Nick was supposed to be? Weren't they both cursed and turned into monsters? We never heard about Nick's monster or could I be mistaken?
This was a really good read. I was not expecting these shifters to be monsters. And she not only got one, but two (wow) I will not spoil the read for anyone but I do see why she left Eric azz.
I did really enjoy this story. There were quite a few random bold paragraphs, location disjointing, & grammar errors that stopped this one short for me,
This book started off extremely strong! I was loving it until I got halfway through around 40%. I began to see errors, big ones; missing sentences, double paragraphs written twice and even around 72% Krampus asks Reneé a question and her response is missing. There are also a few mistakes within the dialogue where Reneé should have been the one speaking but it says “he said” but it’s her responses to their questions; not theirs. Around 87% it says she undid the buttons and took her flannel off to bare her skin but then on the next page it says Krampus ripped her flannel off buttons scattering.
The intimate scenes felt rushed and I feel like there could be more descriptions to paint a picture in the reader’s mind when Krampus shifts; his shifts were rushed and not enough details were provided. In random parts of the story it’s mentioned that he has claws… then it mentions later he has fur…. We know he has horns but I feel like the author missed the point of painting this picture for us. How does his claws look? What color is his fur? Does he fully shift or partial?
Overall It is a cute story and I am a loyal fan of Wintermoon and Shadow Wolf Creek! I love the way the men took care of Reneé in this story and all of the women in the Shadow Wolf Creek Stories. The love is genuine, sweet and authentic. This was my first “monster romance” and I plan on reading more.
There isn't enough depth to carry the story. The emotions and scenes don't ring true and I rolled my eyes several times at some of the statements the characters made. The main characters didn't know one another but for 5 minutes however, they already seem to know when something is abnormal about certain behaviors. The emotions were flat and the rationale didn't make sense.
The book opens with a breakup. Renee is trying to impress her boyfriend's family, but they ridicule her for her cooking and her boyfriend doesn't come to her defense in the way that Renee needs him to. Humiliated and hurt by her boyfriend saying another woman was the one who got away, Renee flees to her aunt's cabin since she and ex-boyfriend live together and she wants to be elsewhere. When she gets to the town where the cabin is located, she meets Klavion and Nick when she takes up a job as Mrs. Claus to their Santa and helper. From there, the three form a relationship Klavion and Nick are cursed monsters and Renee is human.
I enjoyed the "bones" of this story. It had a good premise. I really enjoyed the lack of unnecessary drama just because. I fully expected somebody's ex to pop up somewhere, so that was pleasant. All of the characters were likeable. However, it felt like something was missing. I guess I wanted more character development or backstory for the length of a book that's close to 300 pages. Idk, it just seemed like in some parts, story was sacrificed for spice.
It was a good escape book. Low angst and certainly spicy but the story felt a bit shallow at times. There were some grammar and spelling errors as well. I love a good why choose, (and Black love at that) so that pushed the score up. I never thought I'd see the day where I'd want more story in lieu of spice but, here we are, lol. On second thought, maybe my issue is that it is supposed to be fantasy however, it felt like (outside of the horns) any guy could have been plugged in. So perhaps what it needs is more world building.
Overall, I enjoyed it and will give her other books a try.
This was recommended and I was on the lookout for other Krampus books, so I decided to give it a try.
Love the idea the author was going for, just wish the execution was a bit better and had more story.
I couldn't get behind how fast everything seemed to move and the FMC just suddenly being ok with having two "mates" so soon after running from the city and her "ex- boyfriend". To me it felt like the writing just skipped all over the place. Also there were errors that at times made it hard for me to keep pushing through.
This really needed to have been a longer book. There was way too much history with Santa and Krampus to gloss over what happened to them. I understand that this is a novella, but sometimes, some stories need to be fleshed out. In novella fashion, everything happened quite quickly. I really wished this author would have done more to add more details about what happened with the female main character, her ex, Santa and Krampus nonetheless, this was a fun and easy read, but not spectacular. I will eventually be checking out the others in the series and use them as pallet cleansers.
Lord this story has me looking a Santa differently in the best way! Lol. I enjoyed seeing the realism brought out in a fictional story. I also loved the spin that she doesn't have to choose and they both have relevance and balance in her heart. I would definitely like to see more from these characters.
Loved how she saw past what could have been a scary moment and saw the actual person and stumbled upon a love unlike no other. She just stayed open to finding it…. Keep writing and I’ll definitely keep reading!!!!!
I loved thos version of Krampus. It was so good I couldnt stop reading. I strongly recommend reading it. Mane I need more. I cant wait for the next book to come out. Hope her ex gets to see how she is being loved the right way.
Klavion and Nick needed Renee in their life. After her last relationship, she deserved to be loved and pampered. They both did that. I loved this so much.
Okay I have to admit a Krampus story wasn't on my list to read but I was not disappointed. I kinda wish her mates could've ran into her ex and his try filing family.
