⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - highly recommend this book for anyone who has a deaf person in their life they care about!! Jeff wrote beautiful vignettes about his life and related them to the deaf world! Some of the stories made me smile so big and others brought tears to my eyes. As an educational interpreter for over 30 years within the public school system, I couldn’t help but to think of so many of my students and their experiences with hearing family. I included one the vignettes that made me tear up… pages 80 and 81 (in reference to deaf children) “ These children would come home from school to families where THEIR language DIDN’T EXIST— where their ability to share their thoughts, emotions, and daily experiences was MUTED.” (emphasis mine)
