7月の参院選で躍進し、党単独で法案の提出もできるようになった参政党。その勢いや関心は衰えるどころかむしろ高まっています。保守・リベラルともに支持し、女性人気も高い参政党が目指すところは何なのか、なぜこれほど多くの有権者が熱狂するのか。現代の日本人のメンタリティを踏まえ、その人気の根底にあるものを分析します。橘玲さんとの対談を交えながら展開します

After its surge in July’s House of Councillors election, Sanseitō has gained enough seats to submit bills on its own. Far from diminishing, the party’s momentum and public interest have only strengthened.

What is Sanseitō aiming for, given that it attracts support from both conservatives and liberals and enjoys strong popularity among women? Why are so many voters becoming so enthusiastic about it?

Taking into account the mentality of contemporary Japanese people, this analysis explores what lies at the root of the party’s appeal. The discussion unfolds in part through a dialogue with Mr. Akira Tachibana.
