Morrigan Academy: Claimed: An Enemies to Lovers Dark Academia Series

Rate this book
She's a good girl plotting revenge against her brother's best friend, the bad boy alpha werewolf who destroyed her family, but their fated mate bond, a forced Battle of the Bands partnership, and a slow-burn forbidden enemies-to-lovers connection explode into primal claiming when she discovers the truth.

Lyra Lancaster has perfected the art of being invisible. At Morrigan Academy for Arcane Arts, she's the sweet scholarship witch who never causes trouble—the girl no one suspects is secretly mastering blood magic to make the alpha werewolf who ruined her life pay for what he did.

Six years ago, she watched Dorian Valmont break the sacred treaty between his pack and her coven, costing her family their ancestral home, their community, their security. Her mother eventually died from the heartbreak. And Dorian? He never showed a moment of remorse.

He's also her brother's best friend. Untouchable. Until the Academy's Battle of the Bands forces them into being partners, and the fated mate bond snaps into place between them.

Now the "good girl" who's hidden her bitterness for years is mated to the bad boy alpha she's sworn to destroy and the primal attraction between them is impossible to deny.

When the second seal beneath the Academy shatters and darkness rises, Lyra must cling to six years of hatred, or trust the mate bond pulling her toward the one man she believed was her enemy. The truth about that night might save them both—or destroy everything.

Morrigan Academy: Claimed is everything I expected it to be: fantastic characters—though I am a bit peeved Lyon could be so selfish, the chemistry between Dorian and Lyra is pretty dang hot—loads of friction, pack drama, action action action, great world build, and the Battle of the Bands. But, Ohhhhh, that CLIFF!

Book 2 of the Morrigan Academy: Bloodline Legacy is wildly entertaining and definitely worth reading. *** Recommended ***

Personally, I loved this book too. It was as good as the first one. I love the interactions between Dorian and Lyra. I am a mood reader so I was worried that I wouldn't be in the mood to read it. But it was such an easy read and a page turner. It had everything I love : drama, action and everything in between. I would personally recommend it.

How do I even start?! - This was SUCH a good read!

ABSOLUTELY freaking LOVE Lyra's attitude and sass, Dorian's personality, the enemies to lovers trope between them, the romance, the plot, the academy setting is just as good as in Control, the spicy fun was just as fantastic as between Cassius and Evangeline/Linney, and in a few ways even more so (and that goes both ways). The pack bond, the Battle of the Bands, the fight, the way they merged their magics while playing music as well as in combot and classes, the friendships, her brother and secrets between various characters, the big bad, that absolutely DIABOLICAL and EVIL cliffhanger - I NEEEEEEEDDDD book 3 already lol and this book *JUST* came out :( lol - I don't wanna wait, I need to know how they resolve that - but it was SUCH a good cliffhanger (even if I HATE when I have to wait to find out how things go just because I'm impatient for good plots and characters).

Can't WAIT to see who the next three pairings end up being, and can't help but wonder why they never restored the Lunar pillar/if we're going to have that in book 3 along with the next one being damaged or what (kinda just assumed we would get one pairing soul-bonding and figuring their messes out so they can restore their respective pillars and all, but we also still don't know the full prophecy so I also wanna know what the rest of it is. I already am pretty certain I know at least a few of/at least partials of who some of the pairings are, but could be totally wrong.

Still wanna see Dorian's mom and dad have to face Lyra and acknowledge what she did for their pack and Dorian's father and Alpha and all - was kinda sad that we only got Dorian trying to put his dad in his place regarding his mate, but never saw anything come from that, but I imagine we will get to see plenty of Dorian/Lyra and Cassius/Evangeline(or Linney), and whatever other pairs of heirs and friends we get in coming books.

The scene where Lyra BARGES into the common room and basically drags Dorian through the school to practice with her was AMAZING - there were several scenes in fact - most of which involved her absolutely unquestionably taking control/giving him commands and Dorian smartly doing as his mate told him to :P - the banter and tension and their personalities and the way the interact is FANTASTIC.

(will add in some of my favorite quotes at a later time when I have access to my Kindle as I don't have it with me atm so can't see my notes/highlighted sections)

10000/10 stars, definitely think this book and series is going to be one of my favorites for sure :D

Wonderful Paranormal Magics & Action

This is a great second book in a series with a long term plot arc and an intense cliffhanger. There is good world building, fantastic characters with wonderful chemistry between them, tense enemies to lovers, banter, plenty of magic, pack drama, action, secrets and betrayal, a Battle of the Bands, a Yule ball and some great twists; I could not put it down and now need to read the first "Control".

Lyra has vowed to hate the Valmont werewolf family forever, particularly the Alpha heir Dorian, and can't understand how her brother can still be best friends with him after he destroyed her mother and family. But when they're paired for the Battle of the Bands she realises she'll have to spend time with him and is surprised to find their magics meld together so well.

But Dorian, and her brother Lyon, have secrets they've vowed to never tell. Dorian has promised him he'll stay away from her, not helped by a mate bond snapping into place at the same time as the competition bond.

Lyon’s warning echoes in my mind: stay away from Lyra.
How am I supposed to keep that promise now? I have to work with her and be near her and not reveal she is my soul mate?

It was great watching them accept the bond (he'd been first) and learn to work together to create great music and magic. But with the dark attacking and his family and pack elders against their mate bond they have more than one battle on their hands.

“You’re hurt.” Fury rises hot in my throat.
“I’m fine.”
“You took a hit for me.” I grab his arm and feel the damage through the bond before I see the blood spreading across his shirt. “You idiot, you could have been killed.”
“I’d do it again.” The certainty in his voice makes my heart clench. “Every time.”

The side characters are also great and they all work so well together (when they're not hexing each other).

Lyra has hated the Valmont family ever, since they lost their lands and her Mother died at what she belives is the fault of the Valmonts particularly the Alpha heir Dorian and her brother’s best friend can still be how can he be friends with him after he destroyed her mother and family. But Dorian and her brother Lyon are keeping a secret that will blow her world apart.
Then they're paired for the Battle of the Bands she realises she'll have to spend time with him and is shocked and confused to find their magics mix together so well.

They seem to be paired together in every class and at every oppurtunity and as they spend time together the fated mate bond snaps into place and Lyra finds she wants him more and more

As the story progresses and the Shadows and Raptores attack the Academy they find themselves protecting each other.

The Valmont Alpha forbids Dorians relationship with Lyra as she is a Lancaster Witch and the Werewolf pack will never accept her as the Lunar. Alpha Declan he tells Lyon that he must persuade Dorian if he does not end it he will tell Lyra the secret they are keeping from her and she will lose everything.

Of course nothing goes to plan and all hell breaks loose Lyra finds out everything, so you will have to read this book to find out what happens of course there is a cliff hanger and their friends Cassius and Linney who’s story we read in Book 1 and have featured briefly in this book are in mortal peril.
Also love to hear about the meeting between Dorian's Mother and Lyra

Can’t wait for next in this Series

The Universe Got Jokes!

She hates him! He has something to do with her family's misfortune and probably her mother's death. But he is somehow still her brother's best friend.

The magic of the school paired them in an unbreakable bond for a music competition. AND in every class they share they get paired up on assignments. It's almost like the magic knows something they don't know OR refuse to accept.

There are lots of secrets being held and the School is being attacked from outside forces. Their combined magics just may be needed to battle them. This is book two in the series.

If you like Enemies to Lovers, Paranormal, Werewolf and Witch, Dark Academy, romances, you should give this series a read!

rcvd an ARC from the author.

we meet blood witch Lyra Lancaster who had hated Alpha heir Dorian Valmont for the past 5 years bc of what hos family did. she still is searching for some truth on what happened to her mother. Her brother Lyon and her are all that's left of her family. There's a music competition that magic puts People together, but when it puts enemies together...what could go wrong? Dorian and Lyra are now thrust together on thr musical journey and bam...a bond is formed. Dorian knows it's a mate bond where Lyra thinks its the musical bond. things are not what they seem at the academy
the raptures are closing in, kidnapping students and trying to bring down the wards. drama, deceit, uncovering past trauma and going against the grain make this a good read.

I fell in love with the characters from the first book and i was wondering if the second book would meet my expectations that i had with the first one and i can honestly say. It succeeded them, this book was so good. I loved Linney and Cassius and their relationship but omg Dorian and Lyra are just chef's kiss. I really love that the series continues with the bigger plot, storyline but every book has different couples, different challenges and different feelings.

I love the dual pov AND i LIVE for these men and their yearning, the way they want to keep their distance but just can't.... IS EVERYTHING!

I am so excited for the next book in this series, i still have so many questions and i wonder about who the next couple will be.

Morrigan Academy: Claimed

Another thrilling and captivating addition to keep you hooked until the shattering cliffhanger. Lyra hated Dorian, believing his family is the root of all the misfortune of the Lancaster blood witches. Unbeknownst to her, her brother Lyon and Dorian,Alpha heir, swore a pack to protect her against knowing the truth about her mother's death 5 years ago. If you love enemies to lovers, fated mates, plenty of action and spice with interesting supernatural characters, do read this series. Fast paced with a following storyline and greater word building.

Wonderful second in series

The long term plot line of this series, as well as the cliffhanger, will have you anxiously awaiting the next book. If possible, the tension, danger and action here surpass the first installment. The romance and the characters are completely different than the first book. With so many types of characters I see each story in this series being unique, held together by the academy, the ensemble cast and the long term threat.

Yea gods and little fishes. This was one hell of a story. I was engrossed from the first page to the last, right up to an ending I certainly didn’t not see coming that’s for sure. I absolutely loved it. Magic, intrigue and lust with lots of action thrown in, what’s not to like. What on earth is going to happen in book three now, I cannot wait to find out. Highly recommended.

I must say that I absolutely loved this book. I loved the enemies-to-lovers dynamic between the two main characters, and I loved how the story switched between both of their perspectives to enhance how they felt about each other. I also enjoyed how the author had characters from the first book in this story, and I loved how the main storyline progressed through this book as well.

So good!

OMG! That was amazing! I loved it! Nika certainly has a way with words. Some of my favorite parts were the emotional ones- but no spoilers here! It's not often I get teary when reading but the descriptions and skill at writing those scenes are such that you can't help but feel everything the characters are feeling. I am so looking forward to the next in this series!
