Better and better

Love this series. Close to the end of this book, I read a part that has me dying of laughter to the point I had to stop reading! Omg, "I'm going to smack you if you don't stop laughing!" Priceless !!! I will never forget that scene in the story as long as I live! McNulty, you are brilliant!

The Mellow Summer series quickly became one of my favorites, and this was another great installment to the series! It is just so much fun! Especially with the intro of our ghost and murder victim, a super accident-prone circus performer! It was the funniest thing ever! I loved her!

All the characters in this series are great, actually! Mel and Jackie, Detective Shorts... all of them! Well, most of them. There is one character in particular I could not stand: Tammy.

Matthew Gray Gubler

We met her in a previous book, but I don’t actually remember which one or how far back we met her, so I don’t know whether I thought she was this annoying or not. But ugh!

I know Jackie and I are not always very welcoming around Tammy; her personality is a bit much to handle, but the deflated look on her face tugged at my conscience. -Mel

Mel was definitely more tolerable of Tammy than I or even Jackie were! I could not stand her! She was so incredibly annoying! I sometimes wondered to myself what the hell was wrong with her, because some of the things she did, just-

But overall, I really enjoyed the read! As always, this book had a very intriguing mystery, which surrounded the klutzy circus performer who brought hilarious chaos wherever she went. And of course, I loved all the regular characters. Plus, this series is such a quick read, so that’s pretty great! I highly recommend you check out this series if you love a good mystery!

For some reason, I continue to read this series. They are light-hearted and fun mysterious, with characters that can make me laugh. One thing that is disappointing is the lack of character development. This is book 11 in the series and I feel like the characters are still kind of flat and one dimensional. I really wish Ms. McNulty would put more into development. I feel like this series has a lot of potential, and with most of the books coming in between 80-125 pages, there is definitely room for more development.

I will continue to read the series - I do like Tiny, and I like Mellows aunt. I do feel like Ms. McNulty is starting to make the series even more funny. The seen with Tiny in the circus outfit had me laughing out loud.

*Not as well planned as previous installments. Also in bad need of editing.
