The Morelli men don't fall. They only claim. They stalk. They devour... It's a curse that runs through their veins.

Cassian spent his whole life waiting to see if the family legend was real—and then I stepped onto his stage and proved it was.

I'm just a stripper in his club. But the moment he saw me, something inside him rewired.

Then came the fixation. The possessiveness.

He’ll stop at nothing to cage me. To make sure I’m his in every way a woman can be owned.
It’s obsession in its rawest form. Cassian doesn’t just want my heart—he wants my entire existence wrapped around his.

The second standalone dark romance novella in the Morelli Brothers series, where each brother is more unhinged, more addicted, and more obsessed than the one before.

i think i like this book the most in the series. Cassian wasn't a dick like his brothers and there was also no OW. Cassian was the most obsessed among his brothers IMO, he didn’t go through all that " love isn't for me BS so i'll treat her like crap" like Lucien and Enzo did.

and I really liked Anya too she was funny.

My favorite part in the entire book was when she was going to his office to confront him about a sex tape that was leaked, and she hears him having sex with another woman. But when she runs away, she bumps into him in the hallway, she gets confused and wonders how he got here 😂😂😂 so when she tells him what she heard in his office, he tells her that it's probably his brother Enzo with Mila
“Well, there’s a couple fucking in your office right now,” I say weakly.
He rubs the bridge of his nose with two fingers. “It’s my idiot brother,” he mutters.

safety:
safe
no cheating
no owd
omd : she's a stripper and gives lap dances so do with that as you will. personally it didn’t bother me and it does stop early on in the book

An absolute waste of time reading this, in what universe can a man go from Zero one glance to obsession, then lovebombing while demanding she agrees that she’s his . WTF teh only saving grace was its was only 200+ pages long, not even enough to understand a personality .

3-3.5

So I didn’t think I would read this after finding out the FMC is a stripper but it was short so I decided to read it anyway. I liked that her stripping wasn’t descriptive and we only see her on stage twice and both times she hates it. It also helped that even though cassian owns the strip club he never pays attention to the women on stage. He stays in his office most of the time.

I liked this one more than the last one. I actually adored Cassian. He’s unhinged in the best way. So obsessed. It’s touch her and die for him. His POV was so funny because he’s such an asshole to everyone but Anya. He’s like I hate animals but she loves pandas so he takes her to go see pandas. He hates shopping but he assumes since she’s a girl she loves it so he takes her. He tries to woo her even though he has no idea what he’s doing. It honestly cute.

Anya kind of annoyed me a little though because she fought their relationship to literally the very end of the book. I was like girl if you don’t want him I will happily take him off your hands! But it would have been nice to know what Anya looks like. All we know is what her body looks like but I couldn’t tell you what color hair she had or the color of her eyes.

I do wish this was a little longer with more detail but at least we have more scenes of them together which we didn’t have in the first book.

I’m definitely intrigued by Enzo’s book and will be reading it.

No cheating, she gives a lap dance and she guy pays for it with his life. No ow drama, she thinks he’s cheating but he would never!! No break up. No virgins. HEA.

not much difference between this book and book #1, but i will say that Cassian wasn’t as bad as Lucien. he still sa'd Anya, though, so he’s still a disgusting pig who should be locked up behind bars. Anya, on the other hand, was more insufferable than the fmc from book #1. i don’t remember her name and can’t be bothered to look it up. it doesn’t matter either way because my point still stands.

in His Little Doll , Cassian owns a high-end strip club. that in and of itself is already such a joke because there’s quite literally no such thing. anyway, Anya has just started working at said club as a stripper and, of course, as soon as Cassian lays eyes on her, he has to have her. blah blah blah she’s his, blah blah blah seeing how all the men in the crowd are enjoying her performance makes him wildly jealous blah blah blah. same old, same old.
Cassian then proceeds to fire Anya?? despite finding out that she desperately needs the money. why? because she’s his, even though they don’t know each other, of course. and he doesn’t care that she might end up evicted because, obviously, being ogled by other men (customers) is infinitely worse. after he calls Anya into his office and tells her she’s being fired—plus other extremely creepy things like the fact that she’s his and he owns her, etc., etc.—Anya freaks out and runs back to the club to put on one last show in an attempt to make as much money as she can.

she puts on the most scandalous show of her life, gets her bag, and then agrees to give some random man a lap dance. of course, since this is his club, Cassian is able to track them down and sees red when he finds Anya straddling one of the club's patrons. what does he proceed to do? shoot the man. i mean, talk about unhinged and mentally unstable. it’s not like these Morelli men are the fucking avengers. they’re human beings like you and me. they’re not invincible. later on, Anya lamely tries to defend his actions by pointing out that the man Cassian shot was cheating on his wife because he had a wedding band on. whatever floats your moral boat, honey.

after shooting the man, Cassian basically kidnaps Anya and takes her to his office where he… proceeds to sa her. i really don’t like that this has become a common theme in this series. i mean, what happened to consent? this doesn't even qualify as cnc. as Cassian is SA-ing her, Anya manages to free herself with a blade she has hanging around her neck on a necklace. she then proceeds to do the only proactive thing she ends up doing throughout this book, which is to nick Cassian in the neck. boom. he passes out.

Anya books it and runs back to her shady-ass apartment, hyperventilating and thinking she’s killed Cassian (spoiler alert: she hasn’t). meanwhile, Cassian—unfortunately not dead—is getting his wound tended to by one of his brothers, whom we get introduced to. apparently he has a thing for his secretary. can’t wait for that one! not. anyway, Cassian obviously manages to find Anya’s apartment and starts banging on the door, demanding to be let in. he then kicks the door down and commits a breaking and entering crime. what does he do after that? of course, he proceeds to SA her again.

after that, he has the audacity to tell her he’s giving her a week to fall in love with him like he’s fucking Massimo Torricelli. Massimo wasn’t even great to begin with, so the fact that Cassian is worse?? this book was torture. anyway, if Anya isn’t able to fall in love with him in a week, she’ll be set free. but here’s the thing: Cassian was never going to let Anya go. lol.
once Cassian has basically kidnapped her again and dragged her back to his penthouse, he sa's her… again. i don’t know why these Morelli men have such an issue with consent. it’s just sickening. a few days later, he takes her shopping and, obviously, decides to fuck her in public despite the fact that she doesn’t want to. this is when i read one of the most unattractive and disgusting lines i’ve ever encountered:

"This dress hugs your juicy fucking body like it was made for my cock to tear off. But it’s not the dress—it’s you. Your fat tits bouncing when I fuck you, that plush ass I want to spank red, that gorgeous soft belly, and this sweet little pussy that’s probably dripping just from me staring."

i’m as dry as the sahara desert whenever Cassian opens his mouth. for some reason, he also refers to her labia as her “chocolate lips” more than once. i genuinely shuddered in disgust. seriously, Tati Hayes, what are you doing? are you even attracted to the vile men you’ve created?

the week goes by in a similar fashion, and on the last day, of course, trouble strikes. remember when they went shopping and Cassian decided to fuck her in public? yeah. it started in the dressing room, which wasn’t all that private to begin with, but then he moved them to the main store area so he could fuck Anya in front of the mirrors. so, basically in front of the entire mall. anyway, Anya ends up finding out that someone recorded their very public display of AFFUCKTION and the video has gone viral. recycled trash from book #1.

Anya is pissed and panicking because—obviously—she never asked for any of this. she’s also convinced that Cassian was behind it. understandable accusation. he’s fucking crazy and has made it very clear that Anya belongs to him whether she likes it or not. she thinks he did it so she would have no one to turn to but him. stupidly, instead of escaping, she makes her way to his strip club to confront him. stockholm syndrome and all that, you know.
blah blah blah, they confess their undying love to each other after Cassian tells her he wasn’t behind the leaked video. and of course, to prove he truly loves her, he finds the man who leaked the video and holds Anya as he forces her to shoot him. wow. and they say romance is dead.

i seriously hated this book, much like i hated the first one. i’m sure i’ll hate the other two books in the series as well. writing hate reviews is actually therapeutic for me, so i will continue with this series. uni is stressing me out and i need the release.

6-7. The Morelli Brothers. His Little Muse. His Little Doll. His Little Angel by Tati Hayes (104, 95, 137)

genres: dark romance mafia romance

ranking: solidly good, nothing more, a dependable read 6.5/10

main emotion: Ridiculous

the first line:

7. “The bass thrumming through the walls is deep enough to make my ribs hum. ”

sum-up in one sentence: a nice palate cleanser

I am grateful to this series for ... proof, that people can change only if they want and only a tad.

this book has taught me ... love is hiding in small details, like the coffee made in the morning.

notes: this is a ridiculous enough series, too obsessed, too extreme

I love Aurora's feelings while dancing ballet, Anya's thoughts on stripping, and Mila's work ethic. Each girl is unique and intelligent. The men are driven, passionate and ready to beg and kill, not cute at all.

quotes

“She’s counting twenties with her longer-than-life acrylics.”

“Nobody’s hiring unless you’ve got a degree or no self-respect.”

“A man should be able to spend five minutes with the woman he’s obsessed with without worrying she’s going to stab him out of panic. Goddamn it.”

“Thanks so much for reading my silly little book! I hope it gave you a fun palette cleanser or some delicious brain rot—you deserve it. “

That’s the author note at the end of the book lmao so I appreciate a self aware author she knows it’s silly and unrealistic and have no depth and not trying to act like it’s the best book u will

she served what she promised a dark book only bc he killed someone and a lot of spice —which was mid and confusing
However the book was way too shallow that u know nothing abt any character fr like idk what the fmc looks like only that she have a mole under her eyes and a scar on her ankle and a heart tattoo on her shoulder other than that? Left to the imagination

he is just lustful and doesn’t understand boundaries and doesn’t bother explaining anything like fr what did she know abt him? Or he know abt her?

So it’s only sex with attachment kinda relationship

His Little Doll is exactly what I want when I’m in the mood for a short novella — a quick, easy read that works as a break between longer books. The plot is very straight to the point and, like many novellas, it lacks deeper character and story development, but that didn’t take away from my enjoyment.

Anya worked well for me as the FMC, and I actually enjoyed the MMC more in this book than in the first one. Their dynamic fits the dark romance vibe, and while it’s not deeply explored, it delivers what it sets out to do. There are definitely some spicy scenes that fans of the genre will appreciate.

Overall, this isn’t a book you read for complexity or emotional depth, but if you enjoy dark romance and want something fast, spicy, and low-commitment, this one does the job. A solid 3/5 for what it is.

This book was just bad. Badly written, badly paced, and completely empty.

There is no real plot. A man sees a stripper once and decides she’s going to be his forever—by force. That’s it. That’s the story. No buildup, no development, no tension.

The FMC’s reaction? Basically a shrug. Like, sure, why not. No internal struggle, no fear, no believable emotional response to what’s happening to her. The characters don’t feel like people; they feel like cardboard cutouts being shoved through scenes.

There’s no deeper meaning here. No exploration of power, control, or obsession. No suspense. No emotional arc. And definitely no story.

It’s short, but even at novella length, this wasn’t worth the time.

This is the second book after His Little Muse. The series follows each of the Moretti brothers, and this one focuses on Cassian and Anya—and damn, Cassian is the definition of unhinged 😭😭.

That man fully embraces his obsession, just like his father did with his mother, and he absolutely does not take no for an answer. He’s clearly even more unhinged than his brother Lucian, and I honestly loved that for him.

Now I’m really excited to read the last brother’s book—the one who’s still deep in denial 🤣🤣🤣.

Yeah… I loved it.

Notes for me

Cassian and Anya

He runs a strip club, she’s a dancer. First time he sees her he falls for her.

Very short story.

Safe - he never got involved with dancers before and she hated being a stripper.

“His Little Doll” is the story of Anya and Cassian.

Obsessed rich hero, heroine who is trying to make ends meet by stripping, him taking over her life and just loads of sex- interrupted by a small hiccup- then back to sex.

It was ok

This was insane. Literally. I’m glad the author agrees this IS brain rot. Didn’t know if I wanted to snort or gasp. It’s good if you’re in months long slump.

Well... she stabbed him. And I can give her props for that.

But between all the brothers, Cassion is quite assuredly the most adorable in terms of not being an ass towards her before having some redemption arc.

And the whole panda thing, oof, my poor heart.

This is fine if you understand it’s a novella that is rushing the plot. I will say that the love was extra toxic on the mmcs end and I feel like the author tried too hard to try and make him appear sexy. It was pretty bad, but not as bad as His Little Angel
