The Ghost of Crowford Mill

Rate this book
The year is 1852. When mill owner George Harper brings his radiant young bride Vanessa to the brooding town of Crowford, the locals whisper from the moment her boots touch the soil. Vanessa is different somehow – too pale, too quiet, too unsettling – and George’s calm assurances do little to still the rising tide of suspicion.

And then the darkness begins.

A strange blight creeps across the fields. Livestock dies without reason. Illness coils through Crowford like a living thing. As fear turns to fury, all eyes fix on the mysterious Mrs. Harper – the beautiful stranger who arrived just before the curse began.

George is desperate to protect his wife, but a secret he has long tried to bury claws its way to the surface – one that binds Vanessa to him in ways he has never dared speak aloud. With Crowford teetering on the edge of violence and something spectral tightening its grip, George must confront the truth about the woman he loves before the entire town is doomed to starve.

The Ghost of Crowford Mill is another stand-alone book in the long-running Ghosts of Crowford series, about a spooky English town where the ghosts outnumber the living and nothing is ever quite what it seems.

George is so blindly in love and will do anything for his Vanessa. George is a selfish man who cares only for himself. go ona journey with him and see if he survives the ghost of the mill. this book was very time hoping again and I found it a bit much. the story was going good until about 80% when the twists started coming and just ended up being dumb. overall i give this a 2.5

Had to really feel for the young lady. She and her mother were unjustly killed in a fire, then brought back by a gentleman who thought he was in love with her. What happens is a nightmare.
