Tensions between the new Earth Space Agency and the Global Space Agency are ready to snap. The world’s superpowers are on military alert, and a new, global world war seems impossible to avoid.

Above the clouds, StarQuest, Extreme Habitats, Inc and Kruger International hurry to build their space station. While a few thousand kilometers away, Russia, China and their allies, powered by Sadique Space Systems scramble to alter the heavens as well. Their revolving wheeled space station is the largest and most sophisticated structure ever built in space… if it’s ever built, that is…

With Conquest launches growing ever more frequently, Talib Jabar’s Horizontal launch System and his spaceplane claw their way into orbit, each flight delivering more material and getting them closer to the finish line.

Yet as war explodes onto the global scene, all sides gaze lustfully at the great blackness beyond the sky. Two unique structures, both heralding the promise of a new era in space exploration… but their very existence reveals a dark truth. The represent power and an unspoken threat to their enemies.

Soon the war will come to space… and the intrepid souls tasked with Earth’s future must inevitably claw at one another’s throats… will one side come out victorious? Or will Humankind’s brilliant future tumble out of the sky as flaming death.

Loved this book!

Wheels in the Sky, Volume II is a great continuation of Cook's journey and the reader will feel as if they are part of that journey, rather than just reading some polished autobiography. Cook is very honest about what happened and how it affected him and shares both the good times and the bad times that contributed to his growth and development. The main theme in this volume is resilience and growth, where he will not only tell you what happened, but also what he learned from each of these experiences. The writing is straight forward and easy to read and therefore provides an enjoyable and fast reading experience.
Overall, the book provides a good reflection of an individual and is well worth your time.

Ambition and power are the two words that best define this novel for me. In a world where space exploration is booming, nations plan to build their own space stations, but this brings with it an imminent war. I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. In my opinion, the plot is so well-crafted that the reader is completely immersed in the world-building. Author Cook leaves no detail to chance. I recommend this book to all science fiction lovers, because it's captivating and has a compelling futuristic plot. The characters are very well described and developed and it is very interesting to see the metamorphosis they undergo.

I was so captivated by the first installment of this series that I didn't hesitate to buy this one. I definitely enjoyed it a lot and found it hard to put down, as the action that began in the previous book continues to unfold in an impeccable way.
The author's writing style is fascinating; it may sound strange but I was reading about a world totally foreign to me, yet, I feel like I was there as I was part of the action and fantasy.
In my opinion the story has a dual purpose: to entertain the reader and at the same time make them reflect on the impact of technology and world powers.

Super!

Wheels in the Sky delivers exactly what I hope for in large-scale science fiction: ambition, tension, and big ideas that feel uncomfortably plausible.
The novel never loses its sense of wonder. The vision of massive rotating space stations and humanity pushing further into orbit is genuinely exciting. There’s a strong contrast between inspiration and danger throughout the book. Space represents hope and advancement, but also control and military advantage. I appreciated that tension because it makes the story feel layered rather than simplistic.

space maybe the future

Good story no doubt more to follow with more twists and turns than a mountain road or the snake pass
