Vanishing Lines

Rate this book
She built the perfect lie. Then she had to live inside it.

When ex-con Marcus Dwyer breaks into the Carter home seeking revenge, Evelyn's husband is beaten and chained to a bed. What should be a nightmare becomes something else entirely — because Evelyn isn't the woman anyone thinks she is.

As the days pass, the line between captive and collaborator disappears. And when the night ends in gunshots, Evelyn has a story the world is ready to believe.

But Detective Selina Turner isn't buying it. A single frame of CCTV footage — a smile where there shouldn't be one — launches an obsessive investigation that will consume years, destroy careers, and uncover a truth far darker than anyone imagined.

Vanishing Lines is a psychological thriller told from both sides of the crime: the woman who perfected the lie, and the detective who can't let it go.

Short and wild ride

There was so much tension in this story it was hard to put down. Straight to the point mostly without a lot of back and forth, interesting, and twisty. I'm going to check out the next in the series soon. It ended on a cliffhanger but totally worth the read.

It's not bad!

First I despise the FMC. Nothing about her is intriguing. That ending though...I only guessed part. It's a good read though!
