Excellent!
Starborn is a fantastic sci-fi thriller that is packed with intrigue, adventure and action! There are so many twists that I did not want to put my Paperwhite down for anything but I did have to sleep ;-). As always, the extremely talented author, Jasper T. Scott, has created an amazing universe with characters we can root for or against. I highly recommend it!

I really enjoy the author's work and read everything he publishes. This is the best in a long while.
- Great action
- Plot is interesting and different than many other space operas
- Characters have depth and are enjoyable to know (I love characters who are both good and bad - this has that)
Just finished it today and can't wait until the second book in the series in a few months.

"Starborn" is very well written and highly creative, with realistic characters. The dialogue and narration are well written and balanced. The Earth scenes are relatable and human as they take place in our very near future. What if Earth is secretly isolated from a galactic empire by a group of greedy aliens? An absorbing story that compells the reader to turn pages while speculating where it will go next but will always be surprised where it goes.
Mr Scott has begun writing a fascinating story arc reminiscent of the arguments started with the Fermi Paradox: the discrepancy between the lack of conclusive evidence of advanced extraterrestrial life and the apparently high likelihood of its existence. (See Wikipedia entry).

An epic start to a series!
I really liked the main character, Aldric. He was a bit on the shady side by profession, but a soft hearted guy none the less. The other main character, Lena, is a feisty reporter type with a huge desire for revenge, but I would like to see her a little more of her own person. She was pretty bad ass, considering she was thrown into a "life" she didn't even know existed, but..there was still a vague feeling of "she's just a woman who can't help herself" for me. Maybe she'll get stronger in the next of the series.
Real twists, I didn't see coming, and awesome technology explained like it's real. (and maybe it will be someday!) Go on a ride to Earth and learn how we got here.

Jasper T. Scott has done a marvelous job yet again. Loved all the twists and turns that took place. Lena takes a job that she hopes will lead to proof of who killed her father. But who to trust as she maneuvers around the likes of a villain and a billionaire. Plus the idea of bots and clones and getting rid of memories that are inconvenient for people living forever. Say what now!? And more twists and turns happening. So much to keep track of. Thank you, Jasper T. Scott, for comming up with such a fantastic storyline for all of us to enjoy. Looking forward to March 2026 when the sequel is due out.

A Stunner
Jasper definitely caught me unawares with the twists at the end of this superb story.
Once again he has created polarising characters. I definitely do not love the cruel, greedy, selfish ones and really do love the ones trying to bring clarity, justice and care to the situations.
However, one character in particular has me going back and forth in my feelings about her. And then with the twists near the end I am now questioning how I feel about another couple of them.
Such a great book and I really look forward to the next books to see this, what I believe will be an, epic drama unfold — no that is too mundane — explode!

Humans and bots
We meet Aldric and his companion, Nexara his right hand looking for the right job to keep his ship. One lucky tip and he’s leaving The Concord for an uncharted world with a score that could set him up for life but first he must meet his parents to ask for a loan so this tip better work. The journey almost strands them until they find everything they need to get home or so they thought.

I've been reading Scott for a number of years. Starborn is a departure from much of his writing and I was little confused in the first couple of chapters, but as I went on, I became interested in how "things" evolved. The second half of the book really took off, forgive the pun, and by the twist at the end, I enjoyed his writing.

Another excellent space book from Jasper T Scott.
I loved this story. It was full of action, surprises, twists, space travel and had a bit of romance thrown in.

t Unexpected Ending
This is a thriller with real unexpected events. The SF aspects are truly mind bending! The characters are extremely varied and the action is non stop. Just wait for the sequel!

Interesting take on Earth as a Colony
Half the galaxy has been settled by near immortal humans for millennia. In a distant corner of the galaxy, there is a hidden colony called earth that is used as a personal playground for a cabal of criminals. That’s about to change.
