If the terms "spread too thin," "drained," and "strung out" sound familiar, it is because they accurately describe the chronic energy deficiency that many people experience today. The demands of a fast-paced world often pull our energy in multiple directions, leaving us depleted and overwhelmed. Gulping down Red Bull or relying on adrenalin for energy is not a long term solution but is being treated as such, thus causing many stress-related illnesses.
In The Energy Cure, psychotherapist and energy coach Kimberly Kingsley introduces personal energy management--a way to live life to its fullest while preserving and renewing your most precious resource. Learning to harness and manage your personal energy can elevate you from survival mode to a place where you grow and thrive. As a guide to personal energy management, this book teaches you -- Increase resilience against daily challenges by cultivating an energy buffer. -- Use the language of energy for making everyday decisions. -- Protect yourself from ""drains" that exist in every sphere of life. -- Become free from self-defeating thoughts and behaviors that deplete energy. We often ignore the most subtle signs of energy deficiency--excessive hunger, irritability, and even boredom. These signs indicate that it is time to plug into your internal source of energy and become charged from within. Instead, we often mistakenly over-consume as a way to energize. This strategy provides short bursts of energy followed by a lull, taking us to ever lower energy levels.
This perpetual chase of energy from outside sources keeps us drained. But you can reverse this downward cycle and have the life of your dreams. With The Energy Cure, you'll see how to make life-enhancing choices, not life-depleting ones, every moment of every day.

I like the notion of a “Bright One” who is a person that exudes internal spiritual power. Some of us have noticed such people, but have never really understood. Or we have been acutely aware, but brushed it aside. People who are considered “Bright Ones” have an energy about them that can’t be easily explained. We are drawn to them, and can feel their good vibes. These people are leading their lives doing what they love. They have made “Life-enhancing decisions” that benefits their whole being. For example, two “Life-enhancing decisions” for me are traveling and reading. It was important to know what is/are a life-force(s) for me.
The author distinguishes the difference between pleasure and overindulgence in Chapter 6, “Increase Your Passion!” We have been told that pleasure is either sinful or too luxurious, but that would clearly be what overindulgence is. Pleasure leads to more energy because now you can convey laughter and smiles to the world. Thus projecting good energy out to everyone, and becoming a “Bright One.”

This was a great reminder of what you already know but, forget why you do it or how to do it. It really puts things into perspective and encourages increased energy into your everyday life.
Excellent self-help book for your body, mind, and soul. Kimberly Kingsley really delivers with the book "The Energy Cure". The book flows nicely and the chapters go hand in hand with each other making it very enjoyable to read. While reading this book it was obvious that I had needed a book like this to come my way. It breaks everything down into chapters and basically mini chapters. Subjects included everything from dreams to your body. It's really hard to pick a favorite chapter in this book because all of them were spot on at least for my life. I also appreciated that the author included the energy tips, they are there to give you that extra nudge to take a look at what's important and what is needed to make you the best you. This book is highly inspirational and anyone would enjoy reading it, especially if that extra nudge is needed in your life to make your life a better one. I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I read this book when I was grieving the death of my sister and just needed a way to feel better. Kimberly Kingsley authentic writing voice along with her pragmatic "to do" suggestions gave me manageable tasks to begin regaining my energy and served as a life guide toward healing.
A handbook on how to live life. I have read it several times over and continue to pick it up and read sections as needed. It always gets me back on track and living life to the fullest!
