With over ½ million copies in print since 1973, John Thie's Touch for Health started a phenomenon that has flourished worldwide to help more than 10 million people in over 40 countries restore their natural healing energies and enjoy vibrant health through his unique treatment of posture and muscle balancing that combines simple aspects of acupressure touch and massage. Currently utilizing this excellent resource in my life again! — "Laying On of the Hands" type of healing. Aka Energy Medicine. 😎 I'm back baby!!!
Topics: (TCM, Meridians, Acupressure, Pain Tapping, Neurolymphatic Massage Points for Pain Relief (*swoons with a loving gaze, so good for STRESS too), Balancing Energy, Nutritional Guides for sore points or imbalanced Meridians (yes it's very cool), Metaphors that are super in-depth journaling GOLD, Applied Kinesiology (think chiropractor balancing tests), + a ton more.
You don't need to be a practitioner to use this. There are additional classes available beyond this 372 page guide! (5 weekends in CA), online CDs for purchase (I'd love to have the CD's- videos are included; 5 separate trips to CA hasn't been doable for me), everyday people are learning this, you can too if you wish!
This has been one of my FAVORITE LIFE-CHANGING RESOURCES over the years. Being responsible for the energy we bring to the table is so important to how life interacts with us and "what comes our way". YOU know what I mean! (Being in ALIGNMENT helps strengthen our INTUITION.) - Work it baby, work it!!
If some aspect of your energy feels off or isn't as enjoyable as you'd like, I invite you to do some self-exploration. Check out energy medicine if it piques your interest, it opened me to a whole beautiful alternative world, one that works for me, being someone who senses subtle energy so intensely. Years later I'm STILL learning new things, always learning. TFH (Touch For Health) can be added in conjunction with or to any existing therapy/work you may already be doing.
Time to be my own INTERNAL ELECTRICIAN.
Great for energy practitioners of ANY kind, Massage Therapists, Reflexologists, ANYONE generally interested in the topic, especially Empaths, Intuitives or Highly Sensitive People.
This is a book you'll GROW with. It's a LIFER! (One I'll refer to for life!)
Empowering, great reference for anyone interested in health Bottom Line: Buy It This is an empowering resource for anyone new to kinesiology or touch for health, and also to those interested in delving more into the fields. Though there are classes to become certified in Touch for Health, you do not need a medical degree or any kind of certification to make use of this book in your own health. It explains the basics, and breaks each organ meridian down to what muscle groups are impacted, how to test for that particular muscle, what nutrition supports or hinders that muscle, clearing the neurolymphatics, as well as how to trace, strengthen or sedate that meridian, numerous other things, and it's filled with great diagrams for reference. I would also highly recommend Energy Medicine by Donna Eden as a great companion book. My only complaint, is the size of the book (it's rectangle in shape) and its binding (spiral bound) is not very compatible for constant referencing.
This book is a manual to learn (about) applied kinesiology. It builds on a foundation of “Chinese medicine” (think, meridians, acupuncture points etc.) A resource for learning which muscles are connected to which organs. The website explains: “Touch for Health is a system of balancing posture, attitude and life energy to relieve stress, aches and pains, feel and function better, be more effective, clarify and achieve your goals and enjoy your life!”
This is the most complete book of AK I have found. It offers clear and accessible explanations of the muscle tests. The correspondence between the musculo-skeletal system and the acupuncture meridians is thoroughly explained. The muscle tests are an invaluable reference to assist in diagnosis.
Way too much information that goes way too shallow. Didn’t feel like I *learned* anything so much as I got a giant list of stuff to text with very little reason explained.
The order of the book feels disorganized.
I’ve been in the fitness/wellness field for 10 years. I personally think this information is better taught as a class with immediate application after.
