Siento que esta parte de la historia busca un cambio en la forma de narrar, porque ya no solo recurre al pasado, sino que empieza a anticipar lo que ocurrirá en el futuro, en específico en relación con Serie. Y, la verdad, no dudo de lo complejo que debe ser hilar tantos tiempos distintos y lograr que todo se sienta natural y fluido dentro del relato.
En este tomo tenemos varios puntos de vista en paralelo: el escuadrón antimagia, los hechiceros de primera clase y los guerreros de las sombras. En un primer momento vemos cómo el escuadrón antimagia logra identificar a los integrantes de los guerreros de las sombras, y ahí aparece una de las revelaciones más importantes del volumen: Sein descubre que su amigo, el guerrero Gorilla, forma parte de la organización que deben detener. Me tomó completamente por sorpresa, porque pensé que el reencuentro iba a ir por un lado mucho más sentimental, quizá encontrarse en el Edén o en el paraíso. Aunque también queda la sensación de que habrá muchas bajas y que ese reencuentro podría darse de una forma mucho más dolorosa.
La motivación de los guerreros de las sombras es relativamente simple: un mundo sin magia. Y, en cierto modo, puedo entender esa postura. Quitar los privilegios a quienes lo han tenido todo y han dominado el mundo gracias a la magia, mientras las personas "comunes y corrientes" han vivido con mayores dificultades precisamente por no tener acceso a ella. Es una idea sanguinaria, pero no carente de lógica.
Aun así, lo que más me interesa es cómo se va construyendo el relato en torno a la muerte de Serie y cómo ella misma es consciente de ese destino. A pesar de saber que su muerte podría ser lo "correcto", encuentra una forma de resistir y de dar batalla contra estos guerreros. Es una tensión muy potente entre destino, sacrificio y voluntad. Como ella muy bien decía, a veces mi sobreviviencia implica otros futuros, pero no está dispuesta a aceptarlos.

Der bisher leider letzte Band von einer meiner liebsten Anime-Serien, die gerade aufgrund ihres Fantasy-Settings auf sanfte und poetische Weise über menschliche Gefühle und Werte lehrt, während Figuren wie z.B. Elfen mit ihrer eigenen, langen Lebensperspektive ringen.
Im 15. Band treffen Frieren, Fern und Stark auf ihren alten Gefährten Sein in der kaiserlichen Hauptstadt wieder, der sich noch immer auf der Suche nach seinem Kindheitsfreund befindet. Seine Spur führt mitten in die politisch motivierte Verschwörung der sogenannten Schattenkrieger:innen, welche die geplante Ermordung der Großmagierin Serie zum Gegenstand hat. Die wachsende Bedrohung und persönliche Ambitionen treffen in mehreren Ebenen aufeinander und eskalieren schließlich auf dem Friedensball der Magier:innenvereinigung...
Wieder wird auf durchdachte Weise Bezug auf vergangene Ereignisse und Figuren genommen und ein interessanter Bogen gespannt, der erneut Fragen über Menschlichkeit und das Leben aufwirft. Obwohl inzwischen eine Menge Charaktere im laufenden Arc untergebracht werden müssen, finden Yamada und Abe einen Weg, dies gelungen zu bewerkstelligen. Obwohl ich noch nicht bereit bin, Abschied von dieser Serie zu nehmen und mir die Geschichte ein bisschen besser hätte aufteilen sollen, ist mein Herz voll. Ich empfehle sie jeder Person, die sich für Manga/Anime interessiert!

The assassination plan of Serie is by the Shadow Warriors. A group of soldiers that were supposed to be disbanded by the empire. Yet they worked in the shadows and not even the emperor has control over them.
The gathering of mages and have intelligence on who is the shadow warriors is the first step to know what they are dealing with here.
There is a grand ball at the empire and it is at this ball that Serie will be assassinated. She knew this as she can see into possible future. Yet she came as she knew also the outcome and the threat that is imposed on the mages if she didn’t show up.
Fern and Frieren are part of the force to fight the shadow warriors. The use of strategy on fighting is awesome.
As it is a formal ball, they are all going to dress up. Serie offers to do Frieren hair is a nice touch. I still think it is unfair for her to fail Frieren in her mage exam. I hope she begins to see the type of magic Frieren and Fern want is for peace time.

Oh man... It felt like reading with a ticking bomb in the background. The pieces are set, the heroes head straight into the belly of the beast, the tension rises, and the only thing left to answer: how much blood will be spilled?
