Fresh from their victory over Olsen and her forces, the priory inhabitants are pushing forward with work to turn their new home into a fortress.
Piece by piece, things are coming together as they continue to chip away at enemy encampments.
But a journey north reveals a terrifying plan already in motion to wipe out the Safe Haven refugees and all their allies.
An attack from out of the blue leaves them reeling and, suddenly, everything they’ve worked for hangs in the balance.
Things are falling apart fast, but Mike, Mya and the usual suspects have one card left to play. Will it help them win the game or is it already too late?
Christopher Artinian was born and raised in Leeds, England, but now lives on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. He published his debut novel, Safe Haven: Rise of the Rams, in February 2017 and currently has fifty-three horror and science fiction titles to his name, including international best sellers such as Relentless, Night of the Demons, The Devil’s Face, Neverland, The End of Everything and his new hit series, Unsafe.
Madhouse was released in October 2024 and Tantor Media bought the global rights for the audiobook in 2025. He's recently signed a shopping contract which paves the way for a possible movie deal.
Another brilliant episode in the Safe haven saga. After a quiet start life and death situations accost the growing community at The Priory. This is an unputdownable read that sees Mike, the girls and other members of the community pull together against seemingly insurmountable odds with both sadness and success. There’s treachery and triumph as the group fight not only the infected but the humans who want to destroy them too. Kept me rheading into the early hours, and I’m definitely hanging out for next book.
This book ended too soon. What another fantastic book in the series, the guys have been through so much but are still smiling. Mike's disappearance causes a stir, while there are intruders in the midst. This one has your emotions in a spin, and some parts make you want to jump in the story and slap a few faces. life for the group keeps changing, from feeling a little safe to realising there not, and of they go again. Can't wait for the next books,
This was another fantastic addition to the universe of Safe Haven! Our survivors are working hard to set things up at the Priory so that their lives can get back to the (almost) normal life of Safe Haven! However, it seems like there might be a couple of spies in their midst who are working with Olsen to destroy everything once again!
Mike is still battling the voices in his head and he makes the decision to take out Olsen single-handedly. Before he gets his chance, he discovers that Olsen is still out for revenge! The question is: Will the Safe Haven survivors be able to fight off another attack or are they doomed?
This series is my absolute favorite in the zombie genre. The stories are so much more than fighting zombies. The author does a great job in depicting family, relationships, anger, revenge and resilience. The characters have become like family to me and I can't wait to see what happens next!
As usual, the narrator, Kim Bretton, has truly brought these characters and their story to life. I can't praise her work enough. She doesn't just read the book, she brings it alive in a very special way. You can truly feel the tension and emotion in her performance.
Another character driven, emotionally charged tale from Artinian. Olsen and Ashford are still reeling from the devastating loss they just suffered by the hands of the survivors of Safe Haven and others. Now at the priory with the people from Safe Haven, Prime Minister Beck, his people, Griz, his people and others rescued along the way Mike wants to hit Olsen now as she's back on her heels. When a surprise attack happens, a new plan is formed but can they pull it off and at what cost? I highly recommend this book and series to any fan of the zombie/horror genres
I don't know how he does it, but these never get old or boring. Bringing in new characters and getting rid of others, but it always fits and it always works. My only issue is waiting so long for the next one to come out. I recommend reading them in the order suggested by the author to get the timing of everything that is happening and how the characters interact.
I was instantly hooked in the first book of the Safe Haven series and I continue to be hooked at book 14. Meltdown is exciting, thrilling and sometimes teary, but it also has some light moments when we can have a laugh. Mr Artinian is brilliant at what he writes and is one of the best authors around. A fan forever.
Another superb read from this breathtaking and fast paced series of books. So well written and shows no signs of becoming boring or same old same old! Some great dark humour and laugh out loud one liners but keeps you on the edge of your seat from first page to last. A brilliant series of books which will has a bit of everything, thanks Chris
wow what a book! I feel exhausted just reading it. Absolutely gripping instalment from start to finish, full of twists and turns and action packed. Cannot wait for the next in this series absolutely love mike and the gang. Keep up the fabulous writing, these books never disappoint
I am a fan of the Safe Haven series. This was really good with all the twists and turns and the battles. It actually sounds like the end but I dont think so. There was no signs of Olsen and then what about Ashford? We also gotta know who Mike chooses since everybody wants him. Truth is they haven't made it back yet. I see another book coming.
I have loved all 14 books in the Safe Haven series. I love the characters especially Mike, he’s just the man you need in a zombie apocalypse. I didn’t realise that Wren, Robyn and Mila’s story was told in the End of Everything series so I now hall all these to enjoy. Definitely found a new favourite author
I hate to see it end. But it was one of the best series i have ever came across. The ending was satisfying abs leaves promise for the series to continue. But I'm glad that it logically ended the way it did. I truly recommend this entire series to any zombie apocalypse lover out there.
Although all your other books and series are also wonderful too Christopher, I'm gonna need you to knock all of that nonsense on the head for a while and keep writing this story for at the very least say twelve months. Thanks, Lee.
I love this safe haven/ end of everything series. Every new edition I think this is the one they will get Olsen, although I do believe we will be hearing a lot more about Olsen. Despite the character’s belief.
Once again, i found the latest saga addictive and blitzed through the book. Very intrigued where this series and its characters will end up , dead ot alive ?
I read constantly and it’s been a while since I’ve read safe Haven. So I came into these last few books and it was like I never left. I wasnt confused, I knew who the characters were, the author is fantastic.
Tears are tripping me. Is this nearing the end or is there a surprise in store. Christopher has done good, this book is great, un put down able to the end. Of the book that is I hope.
This entire series has been an emotional rollercoaster! The author has done a first class job in bringing the story to life and leaving you not just wanted to read more, but needing to read more!!!!
Omg. I’m so happy to get back to the Safe Haven family plus the other groups they have accumulated. So much I could say but don’t want to give spoilers away….. the fight is very much ongoing and have to say I absolutely love the humour, trying to stay quiet in bed while hubby slept was impossible, I will never look at Ticks the same way again…. Howling. Can’t wait for the next book, I can honestly say Mr Artinian is my favourite author, I never tire of the Safe Haven Universe, if you’ve not read any then I say “please try one”, you’ll never look back . More please sir, I need more 🙏
