Mila Davis I once believed I had my entire future planned until betrayal shattered everything I dreamed of. Even with my heart closed off to love, I refused to give up my desire for motherhood and chose a path that brought my son, Solomon, into my world. With the help of my sister and cousins, I built a life for him filled with love and stability. That peace began to crack when he started asking about the father he never knew. One small lie was all it took to protect him, until the day I crossed paths with a man whose presence unraveled everything I tried to hide.
Entering Edward Banks Everything shifted the day my cousin brought Eddie around. One look at him and something in me tightened, a quiet pull I could not ignore. I tried to shake it off, but the truth found its way into my world before I was ready to face it. The more I crossed paths with Edward Banks, the harder it became to pretend I felt nothing. He carried a calm confidence that drew me in, and his presence stirred emotions I thought I had long since buried. He lived a life far from mine, yet every moment near him made it harder to step back. For the first time in years, the future I once dreamed of felt close enough to reach, and that scared me more than the truth itself.
I really wanted to like this one because the setup for Mila and Edward was so unique. The idea itself had a lot of potential, but the execution just didn’t hit for me.
The way the story was structured threw me off. The chest pains Edward was dealing with worked as a plot mover, but so many important conversations and moments were explained after the fact instead of being shown on page. Meanwhile, we got silliness on page where I wanted substance.
And y’all know I’m big on actually seeing people fall in love that part was missed for me. On top of that, nothing about the Edward we were introduced to gave “I would cheat on my wife.” So finding out he would’ve always cheated to be with Mila? Yeah, that didn’t sit right with me. I would’ve preferred him handling his situation first and staying true to the character we were given.
All in all, the story had potential, but it missed the mark for me. (2.5/5)
I truly enjoyed this story and getting to know Mila, Edward, and Solomon. I love the family dynamics. When the truth comes out, I love how things were handled like grown folks. Ieasha is a whole mess and karma tapped her ess really good. I encourage you to get to know these characters. Love, new chances, and unexpected opportunities is evident throughout this story. Sometimes unexpected blessings bring the greatest joy.
This was a happy ending story I love the way Millie and Edward were was This was a happy ending story I love the way Millie and Edward was even though how they How they met Her auntie made me so mad how she treated her due to her being artificial seminated for kid which that shouldn't have mattered but in the end she had her fairy tale and I'm happy for Millie
This was a very interesting good book filled with drama. I rated it á three star book because I didn’t like the fact of Ian and Kamilla getting together being since that is her blood sister child’s father. Mila and Edward running into each other was mad crazy especially with Solomon at an age where he had questions about who is father was. I like the fact that Edward immediately wanted to be apart of Solomon’s life and started building a bond with his son. I also didn’t like how Edward started courting Mila from the beginning even though he was still married to Ieasha regardless of him knowing something wasn’t right in his gut. I also wanted an update on Ieasha. Overall, I did enjoy the book.
Tis for morals are out the window in this book!!!!
Mila did not have a problem with the way Edward alienated Joel and gravitated to her son when he found out that Joel was not his biological daughter. Edward kicked out Ishesha and Joel being in this child life since she was born thinking she was his daughter. Weird for a man to alienate the child after being in her life 6 years , you were dad. After Edward found out he was not Joel father, but Joel aunt Kamilla had to beg Edward to see the child and explain why he no longer wanted to be in her life. Kamilla was Ishea sister, started dating Joel's biological dad. This was too much.
I felt like this book was not it. I could have chose not to finish it but I’m almost at the end of my reading challenge for the year. Edward and Mila were being so weird and overly annoying watching him date other women after his divorce and knowing she liked him herself. Mila found out his daughter wasn’t his but why not just send the proof. Just should have been a novella because it had a lot of boring fillers.
Dani Littlepage such a great read. You really gave us situations that were real things that can happen. To see men take responsibility for situations out of their control made my heart smile. I love how cool and grownup Mila was. Edward and Ian were such great guys. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Ieasha was a trip. The way she played Edward and her daughter Joel! Mila meeting her donor at a little league baseball game. Edward stepped up but the only thing I didn't like was that he hid Solomon from his wife, but she did the same. Ian and Kamilla were both wrong.
This was an on read. How the couples linked together was crazy and what Kam did was ever more crazy. I’m glad that Edward was able to find a woman that loved him for him and not what he could do for her. And aunt Bernice could’ve stayed right where she was. Ain’t no forging ova this way.
This story was the definition of a perfect standalone novel. It was truly unique and I haven’t read another book like it. I loved how patient the FMC was and that she was an independent woman who just wanted to be a mom on her own terms. Her son got the dad he wanted and she got her HEA. 10/10
Honestly I loved the book but I also didn’t feel like Iesha was a true villain; she was legit in survival mode and heartbroken and went back to the one she knows could love her she also admitted her faults id love to see more of her story and some redemption because yes she played with his feelings at first but she was ALWAYS a mother and there for her daughter but definitely a good read
This was a nice, quick read. Dani did her thing once again. I enjoyed this, although I thought Edward was in the dark too long about his wife. It all worked out.
The writing in this book was very childish. It’s definitely made for young reader that enjoy rap. There was nothing in this book that was real, unpredictable or genuine. Smh! A hard pass . Sad I wasted time reading this garbage
Outside of the brand dropping. It was a good read. Hopefully authors get kickbacks from these companies. But I wanted it to be a few more pages maybe the ex being crazy or something. But that’s just me. It’s still a good read without the toxicity.
There Was Not Enough Dialogue Between the Characters, Too Much Description, If That Makes Sense., Not Enough Interaction. I Found Myself Skipping Pages, That Is Something I Never Do.
I struggled to finish thus book abd skipped through most of it. Plot was terrible and characters I just couldn't connect with. What good father abandons a child they've raised since birth because the child is not biologically his. Just rubbish
I enjoyed this read. With a storyline that is interesting and full of secrets. Karma came for one character and made it easy for two others to come together.
Now that was definitely different! Two people living totally separate lives and boom at a baseball tryout for kids everything starts to unravel for Mila and Edward! That’s it that’s my review lol you got to read the book to know their story. Awesome read
